Summary: I see Paris, I see France...
Review: Okay, I'll admit right off that this is a so-called chick flick. But you know what? This is also a straight-up, feel good movie that still makes me smile days after I saw it. Mandy Moore is at her best so far in this film. She possesses amazing charisma and she seems to glow on-screen. I think that as she develops as an actress, she will only get better and perhaps choose more risky productions. And Matthew Goode?! He has a depth that I would love to have him show more of. If nothing else, the spectacular views of Europe make Chasing Liberty worth seeing.

Finally, the plot flaws that others have pointed out only seemed to make it more endearing to me. For what girl hasn't wanted to galavant around Europe with a cute boy and without a care or worry in the world?

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Just another chick flick.
Review: If your like me and got stuck taking your girlfriend into this movie, you knew that it was [bad.] Okay okay well Mandy's acting saved it for the most part, but it was the australian guy who handed out the $3,000,000 dollar man stickers that kept me awake during this old, oftenreused, script. It's not very original and you know that they're all gonna live happily ever after, and there are no surprises or plot twists, just Mandy Moore taking her clothes off, and for guys that's a plus. All in all it's okay, but I believe a Walk to Remember was much better than this outing for Mandy.

Summary: Surprising...
Review: When I first entered the theater, I was convinced I'd be in for another chick flick. I was right! However, I couldn't help but enjoy the film.

Mandy Moore plays Anna Foster, the president's daughter. She yearns for a taste of freedom without being followed by an entourage of agents scrambling to protect her. After one foiled date, she and her parents head to Europe on an ambassadorial mission. There, she meets a strapping young British lad who acts as a guardian angel of sorts and the story builds.

Despite its obvious plot line and the common elements of a romantic film, I had fun watching the love story play out. It was also nice to see some sweeping views of London, Prague, Venice, and Berlin. The movie took long enough for the plot to develop that I felt like I got a feel for the personalities of each character. However, it was not long enough to cause boredom.

This movie seemed like a cross between "Just Married" and "A Walk to Remember." However, Mandy seems to want to lose her "good girl" persona. In this movie, a scene of her character's bottom (played by a butt-double) as well as her wild party girl and at times profane mouth all serve to help erase the image she portrayed in "A Walk to Remember." This aspect alone makes the film a bit more intriguing.

All in all, this film is definitely worth seeing once and is a cute and fun way to spend a boring afternoon.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sweet, Funny and Fairly Predictable
Review: Although this type story has been told before it was still a feel good movie with not only the main love story but the sub love story of the two agents was very enjoyable. Matthew Gooode is such a cutie in this, I would watch it over and over just to watch him.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: its as popular to trash Mandy as it is popular to like trash
Review: notice how all of the banally pathetic reviewers whom gave this film a 1 rating list very few, if any reason for doing so? Sure, they say "the acting was bad", blah blah blah without elaborating on such profoundly drastic opinions.

First of all, the professional critics who HATED this movie even said the acting is very good, so I have no clue how these idiots think they can make such a ludicrous, basless claim. Mandy is no doubt a talented actress, who exudes charm and screen presence. She delivers her lines with meaning and poise, while very naturally. Mathew Goode clearly displays his years of theatre experience as he portrays Ben Clader as a withdrawn, yet emotional character.

Though I really liked the story, it really did not draw you in to these people. There was more emphasis on the situation or plot than I would have liked; we never truly got to see the characters come to light and reveal their inner depths. However, the screenplay was written quite cleverly and with immense charm, which detracts all flaws from any lacking areas.

I highly recommend anyone to see this film, I have talked to women who dragged their opposing husbands tho this film, whom ended up liking it. There are Mandy haters who saw this film unwillingly and ended up loving it. I assure that you will at least have a good time, if not completely and utterly love the film altogether. You will definitely have a good time at the theatre. The plot, acting, cinematograhpy, directing, and above all, scenery will transcend you.

*don't listen to anyone who gives this film a 1, even someone who hates it would not give it a 1, it is simply better than that*

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: Mandy is a great actress and the movie is wonderful! Mandy is setting herself up to be the next Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock...just give her time! GO MANDY!

Summary: A Subtle Hit
Review: You have to be really in tune with emotions, life in general, and have an appreciation for freedom of expression to rate this movie more than 3 stars. I rated it 5 stars without hesitation.

I felt that the acting (by all) was outstanding. The cinematography was excellent. I see 2-3 new releases a week and feel that I can recognize the bad from the good. The story was not real strong....however, it was "real". Two love stories in one movie, a touch of International flavor, and a heap of humanity from all the characters. I was glad to spend the price of admission.

Even though I would classify this movie in the "Chick Flick" genre, my wife was not as enthusiastic about this movie as I was.

We braved the ice and snow to see this movie on 1/9/04 at the Century Theatres in Portland Oregon. This is a wonderful place to see all the new releases.

Summary: Terrible
Review: It was simply awful... That all one needs to say...

I wish that I could take back that time I wasted watching (more like yawning through) this movie...
Mandy Moore is at her worse. Was it possible to be worse then she was in How To Deal? Does that question need answering???
Yes, she is even more terrible than she was in How to Deal...
The idea of the movie sounded cute (reason for me to go and waste my money on this movie), and the commercial made the movie look promising...
This movie really deserves a 0 star... it was that bad...

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: It must be the writing...They just do not write.....
Review: The last several times that I have been to the movies, they would useusally list in the writing credits as either "Story by" and "Screenplay by", meaning that they did a storyline first then commited it to a screenplay, and the movie turned out to be well done. But if they list in the credits as just "written by", it seems that they did only a direct script with very little in the way of changes and they filmed it with what they wrote, however what they wrote useually turned out to be terrible. Unbeliveable situations that characters find themselves in. The charecters themselves are cardboard characters with little humanity in them. They tell not so funny jokes and the everything seems so cliched or recycled from other movies that had much better scripts to work with. WEll this movie is one of them, you want to like Mandy Moore, and think that if the right part came along, she could really do something good with a role that has a lot of substance to it. But this movie is not it, so I can only say, "Try a better movie with a well developed screenplay, and a film director who actually works on the movie.
