Summary: Most memorable movie I've ever seen.
Review: I was 13 or 14 when this movie spent 2+ years in a theatre near my home in Minneapolis. A friend of mine and I went as often as our parents and our money let us. As a result I became a cult follower and a Cat Stevens Fan for life. I've rented the movie over the years and was never able to find it until now. I plan on purchasing it so that I can share it with anyone willing to view it. Like others have said it sends a message, a powerful one. In it's own unique way. You have to see it to understand.

Summary: If you saw There's Something About Mary.....
Review: believe Cameron Diaz when she said this was the best movie ever. I used to work in a video store, and pretty much wore out the old copy we had...watching it over and over. I just bought it for myself, and can't wait for it to arrive. It will be like meeting up with an old, optimistic friend that always has the knack to lift my spirits. Mary was right.

Summary: Original, but not a strong story
Review: I saw all the hype for this movie, so I rented it. Although it is original and offbeat, that isn't enough to make it great. The story (what there is of it) is sloooooooooow. There were some laughs, but not enough to keep me very interested. It was worth renting once, but I won't be buying it.

Summary: A life long treasure
Review: I first saw this movie when it was released in the theaters. It played at the same theater in Minnesota for a year and a half and I saw it more times then I can count. It was a cult film from day one. Harold and Maude is a masterpiece. It touches on every emotion and leaves you walking on air. If you haven't seen it - you haven't lived.

Summary: The greatest film of all time!
Review: I honestly don't see how anyone can see this movie and not enjoy it. Harold and Maude is a modern day bildungsroman. Everyone around Harold tells him he's sick. Then he meets Maude, who accepts him w/ open arms. We all need a Maude in our lives, to bring our potential to the surface. The music is great, the script is fantastic! I have 3 pages of quotes from this film alone in my quote journal. You owe it to yourself to buy this film.

Summary: Coming of age movie like The Graduate, but nothing like it.
Review: You're not going to believe all these reviews. They all say "the greatest" "best movie ever" "my favorite". Well, it is one of my top ten along with Silver Streak and Cool Hand Luke, Amadeus and that old standby Casablanca. H&M, however is nothing like any of the other movies. It stands alone and the music is so well suited to the movie you'll never hear Cat Stevens again without thinking of Harold. (Sort of like visualizing Anne Bancroft in The Graduate when you hear S&G sing Mrs. Robinson.) This is one movie you can watch again and again just to keep you straight. And Harold is not one to go straight, but then you'll have to see for yourself. Great flick. If you are debating whether to get it. Don't. Just buy it.Darrell Batchelder

Summary: It opened up my eyes....
Review: When I first saw "Harold an Maude" I was having a bad time deciding on what I wanted to do with my life. I wasn't sure where I was going. But after seeing Maude's glee for life, and saying that you need to do what you want to do, not what someone else wants you to do, I've decided what I want in life. Thank you Hal Ashby for this wonderful film! And we miss you dearly!

Summary: A Cat Stevens Special
Review: I never thought a movie could be made that gave justice to the lyrics and music of Cat Stevens. This movie "Harold & Maude" in fact gives justice to the music. A movie that can be watched a hundred times and still enjoyed.

Summary: If ever a movie could change your life.... this one can.
Review: I have been raving about this movie for about 15 years now. To see it once is to see it dozens of times. I can recite it and still get something out of it every time. It is by far, my favorite movie of all time. Whenever you lack lust for life, see Maude in action. "I feel that much of the world's sorrow comes from people who are this.... allow themselves to be treated as that." Maude I think we all have a bit of Harold in us that is waiting for a Maude. May you find it.

Summary: A fabulous life and death experience of wonder!
Review: This is my favorite movie of all time!!! I have shared it with many of my friends and have yet to find one that doesn't enjoy it! It is a tremendous celebration of life and love and the importance of experiencing them. It is amazing how this great entertainment contains so many lessons for life!
