Summary: A Classic Cult Film
Review: For its time, this movie was very very daring, and even if this film came out today, it would be very controversial to a wide audience. This move asks us to put aside all the things and "rules" society has taught us about love. It's obvoious theme is that love and friendship can span across all ages, even 65 years past.

This movie has great character development, especially with Harold, who has some major changes as the film goes by. There is also a dash of dark humor.

Even though the movie is great, the DVD is very sub-par, only featureing a couple of trailers. Still, this movie is Highly Reccomended, I wish I could say the same about the DVD...

Summary: Great movie, so-so DVD
Review: At last on DVD, but what a shame nobody took the time to clean up the video. My time-worn VHS tape looks better than this. Never liked Cat Stevens that much, but his music suits this movie. Still, its great to finally have this on DVD. You owe it to yourself to see this movie at least once in your life. Check it out.

Summary: About as good as a film can get.
Review: I've always divided people into two groups - those who like this movie and idiots. You can learn alot from this film (not least of all is what happens when you crossbreed a hearse and a Ferrari). In a strange way, it's always struck me as sort of a dark, mirror image of the Graduate. Next time you hear somebody whine about how they never see any "different" movies; chuck a copy of this film at their head.

Summary: Unforgettable!
Review: I've only seen this movie once or twice about ten years ago, but I have never forgotten it. I never found it my local video store, but now that is't on DVD I can't wait til it arrives in the mail. I would recommend this movie to anybody into offbeat, darkly humorous movies

Summary: A Classic
Review: To the "Viewer of Edmonton," a couple of the songs from Harold and Maude were on what is now an obscure vinyl album of the Best of Cat Stevens. For those who have not seen this movie, it's a strange, funny, dark comedy about a suicidal 20 year old full of despair and hopelessness, until he meets the 80-year old Maude who with her love of life and often reckless abandon, changes Harold's life forever. This is definitely a 70's classic that you will not easily forget. While it may seem like a silly little comedy, the underlying message and tone of the film will remain with you. The haunting songs of Cat Stevens throughout the film just add to its unforgettable charm.

Summary: Dark Comedy
Review: Harold and Maude is a dark comedy about a young man and his friendship with a 79-year-old woman. Harold is obsessed with death and enjoys going to funerals of strangers, which is where he meets Maude, an eccentric old woman. Maude teaches Harold about love and enjoying life. The movie is very funny and touching and the great soundtrack is supplied by Cat Stevens.

Summary: I want to be Maude.
Review: I loved this movie. I guess this is more of a question than a review, where can I buy the soundtrack? I've had the theme song in my head for days...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Favorite movie of all time
Review: This is a GREAT movie. The beginning is a bit disturbing, but watching the morbid adolescent Harold blossom into a loving, hopeful man with Maude is exhilirating. The final irony of the movie (I won't spoil it for you) shocked me the first time I saw it, but instead of being sad, I was actually uplifted. This is a wonderful movie about letting go of the things you can't change and taking pleasure in the act of living.
