Rating: Summary: Ear to Ear Smiles from Intro to Ending. Review: Utterly Enjoyable in every department, anyone who critisises this film is taking it and themselves far too seriously, Richard Gere and Julia Roberts have Chemistry to Burn in this film, at some points it's like there just having a great time and have forgotten that the Cameras rolling. Julia is as Loveable as ever and Richard plays his most likeable character in decades. (though, how hard is it to act like your in love with Julia, i act like that every day)The Supporting Cast are Hillarious, (Joan Cusack and Hector Elizondo are standouts) the pacing, screenplay and Direction are spot-on, a sure-fire crowd pleaser.
Rating: Summary: Save you money. Review: There are so many movies you should watch. Save you money and try THE others.
Rating: Summary: Runaway Bride Review: Runway Bride is like a Cinderella story with a happy ending. A small town girl has a problem of dumping guys at the altar. Reporter Ike Graham finds out about her and decides to follow her around to write a story. It's a cute movie and I recommend it to everyone! :)
Rating: Summary: A Somewhat Enjoyable Plegfaln Review: I have to be honest with you. I cannot fathom why Julia Roberts is as popular as she is. She is unbelievably annoying and I have never seen her in a movie that didn't completely suck gopher perineum. And speaking of rodents, I think all those rumors about Richard Gere must be true. Only a man who would introduce gerbils into his lower orifice could make an awful movie like this. I also don't like the way some people dance.
Rating: Summary: A Cute Little Movie Review: Well, I know that from reading a few of the other reviews that this movie did not fare well with everyone. I actually thought that this was a very cute movie which made you laugh and was a pleasant, adorable film to watch. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere were great and I enjoyed watching them. This story takes place as Ike(Richard Gere) who is a news reporter is investigating a women Maggie(Julia Roberts) who seems to be able to get engaged easily, but never quite makes it down the isle to say "I do". This was a romantic, sweet little movie and if that is what you are looking for, you have found it.
Rating: Summary: Bore...Boring...Sellout.... Review: Geez. What a disappointment. I saw this flick in the Theatres and fell asleep. My date thought this movie had so much potential but just didn't deliver. The previews made the film look so wonderful, so funny and so romantic. But it turned out to be just another cheesy and cliche-ish flick. A total bore. Richard Gere plays a tell-it-as-it-is reporter. He lives a simple and snappy life. His quick and witty responses to everyone is humorous and reflective of his outgoing nature. Julia Roberts plays an enigmatic and gorgeous country-girl who gave up a potential big city career to take care of her alcohol loving dad. Well, she's also The Runaway Bride and instead of asking why, everyone just makes fun of her. She's not a "ditz" but she takes it with a smile (well, duh! she's still not an air-head cause she's JULIA FREAKING ROBERTS). Anyhow, the story goes downhill from there. Sounds silly? I thought so... The cast is brilliantly cast. Problem is, only Hector Elizondo and Rita Wilson showed any spark or originality. The others are just shells of sterotypes. The movie is directed by Super Director Garry Marshall. The problem is, we are all so emersed in the credits, what comes on screen is just smothered with potential and never really fills our appetite for a good film. I love Julia Roberts. I love Richard Gere. But this movie is just terrible. Terribly cliche-ish and Boring! Not an ounce of fun or humor or originality or romance. Oh, the Romance, didn't mention that in this Romance-comedy. Well, there is NO spark or chemistry between Roberts-Gere. They are acting to a void. In fact, Roberts and Gere acted BETTER individually than in the same screen. Honestly. Gere was brilliant in NY and Roberts was acting great in her hick town. Then they got together and the movie went down the tubes. This was a sell-out. It made tons of money in the theatres but it's nowhere near as good as it seems.
Rating: Summary: Marshall, Roberts and Gere waited 10 Years for This?!! Review: I like both Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. "Pretty Woman" is one of my favorite movies. Contrary to many a popular opinion, I actually think Julia Roberts is a pretty good actress. All this said, I HATED this movie! It was a trite screenplay and a poorly acted film. Not only did I not laugh once, some of the scenes made me angry they were so bad. The stupid "nods" to "Pretty Woman" (ie: Richard Gere struggling to crack the crab a la Julia Roberts and the escargot) were cheap and stupid. Don't waste your money or your time on this thoroughly disappointing and altogether patronizing movie.
Rating: Summary: THE Chick Movie of the year! Review: "Runaway Bride" is a great movie! It is THE chick movie! It is the story of a girl who has had three weddings but has never said "I do". A newspaper column writer finds this story funny and publishes it. He ends up meeting the "runaway bride" and I won't tell you anything else! Excellent acting by Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. I recommend this to women. When it comes to guys, I don't think they would enjoy this movie too much.
Rating: Summary: A pretty good movie- Review: Julia does the same character in almost every movie, so if you like her, you will like the movie. It is sweet and romantic and of course has the "happily ever after" ending that the fairy tale lover is looking for. The best part of this movie was not the main characters, but the little things in the background: the references to Pretty Woman, the "Curl up and Dye", the supporting cast (Joan Cusack, what's not to love?).
Rating: Summary: This movie is formula and predictable Review: To those people that do not like movies that are formula or predictable, this is probably not one of those movies that you would like. For those of you who are expecting some sort of breakthrough movie like "Pretty Woman" (1990) ASIN: 0788821075, this movie is probably not one that you would like. Now with that said, this is a great formula and many of the details are not predictable. It is the interaction between the actors and the visuals (multi colored hair) that give this movie its worth. This movie contains psychology and morals that would give Gary Zukav a run for his money. We already know how wonderful the interaction is between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. Don't overlook the ecast of supporting actors that even give the two-dimensional characters a third dimension. Remember Rita Wilson form "Sleepless in Seattle"(1993) ASIN: B00000K3TP? Well she plays the ex-wife of Richard Gere and adds some stability to the hectic events. And who can forget Joan Cusack form "My Blue Heaven" (1990) ASIN: 6305134022? She plays Peggy Flemming. All in all it's cute movie in worth watching...
