Summary: A very pleasant surprise!
Review: Get Over It is a wonderfully refreshing movie that is not just a teen movie. Kirsten Dunst is amazing and I have loved all of her performances that I have seen thus far. Every film she has been involved with is intelligent and stretches the boundaries that it is classified in.

Get Over It is no exception. This film is very funny and well written with great editing. The cast surprised me. Ben Foster plays the center of the movie as a man in love with a woman who has lost her spark in the relationship they share. He sets out to win her back and that is the set-up for this movie. With great co-stars like Kirsten Dunst and Martin Short, with Sisqo playing a fairly believeable role that does not distract from the rest of the film as I had initially thought he might, Get Over It is a fun, makes-you-smile kind of film.

On the DVD are many Martin Short Outtakes that are hilarious as well as Deleted scenes with alternate dialogue and original content that had to be toned down to allow for a lower rating. Like the party scene where the parents show up and say "We could have arranged for a DeeJay..." and the original cut of that was "We could have pitched in for another KEG!"

I was very surprised with this movie and the parallels drawn between it and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (a play performed in the movie) is well done and interesting. Yes, the plot is simple. No, it is not original and we have seen it all before, but not with the dedication of the actors and the quality of the dialogue.

If you just need a good laugh and want a fulfilling story, this is the movie for you! I, a man who loves Bruce Willis movies and Clive Barker tales, thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Of course, that has a lot to do with my love of Kirsten Dunst as well...

Summary: A Teen Comedy That's Actually Funny And Enjoyable.....
Review: I went to go see this movie the day it opened which also happened to be my birthday. I was hoping to see a fairly good movie, something hopefully better than such recent dissapointments as Loser, Boys And Girls or Dude, Where's My Car?. I was actually suprised to find myself not only liking this movie, but laughing as though it were an adult comedy. This movie is one of the few recent teen comedies that have actually had heart and humor... Ben Foster plays Berke, a guy who is very in love with this girl Allison. Things are going great until Allison realizes that she is no longer in love with Berke and decides to dump him.. So to win back her heart he decides to join the school's production of A Midsummer's Night Dream even though he doesn't know alot about Shakespeare. Not wanting to look like a fool, he turns to his best friend's little sister Kelly, played by Kirsten Dunst, who is very into Shakespeare for help. And before you know it Kelly falls in love with Berke and Berke is too blinded to notice because of Allison... This all seems very generic, but its very talented and charming cast livens things up and turns what could have been another teen dud into a very funny, romantic and heart warming story. Kirsten Dunst is just as perfectly suited in this role as she was in last summer's smash hit Bring It On. Ben Foster looks like he will be a very talented young actor and he is very believable in this movie as the average teenage guy who doesn't look like Freddie Prinze Jr. or Ryan Phillippe. The rest of the cast is perfect. Everyone including Colin Hanks, Sisqo, Mila Kunis, Vitamin C, Shane West, Kylie Bax and even a brief cameo from Carmen Electra help keep this movie fun and refreshing. But the reason to go see this movie is to watch Martin Short who is so funny you might want to take an extra pair of underpants! He plays the the director of the school play who is very into his work and very into criticizing his assistant and his cast. There have been better movies, but as far as teen movies go, especially the newer ones, this is one of the best. And for those of you who used to be John Hughes freaks, like myself, you'll find that this movie is like taking a nostalgic look at some of the great classics... And I think this is a classic too.

Summary: Falls Short of Its Potential
Review: Get Over It is a high school flick that could have been so much better than it turned out to be. The cast is obviously talented, and the premise, while scarcely being new, could have worked. Berke has just been dumped by his girlfriend, and as he leaves her house, a hilarious musical number starts, slowly building behind him. After that, I expected great things from this movie, but it dragged on and on .... The Midsummer Night's Dream interludes were about the only thing that kept me awake. The ending -- which showed the performance of the musical remake of Shakespeare's classic -- was brilliant. I found myself wishing that the entire movie had been mostly a musical, and generally I'm not a big musical fan.

Summary: Sweet, Cute, Silly Movie...
Review: This was a Good Movie... I watch it often, Kirsten Dunst is adorable in this movie... "Berke" is somewhat irritating.... he barely moves his mouth when he talks... and the "Big Red" scene is painful to watch. Alison isn't all that great... but anyway.... The Best Part of this movie, and what keeps me watching it over and over is.... The remake of "September" at the very end... I LOVE IT!!!! SiSQO & Vitamin C do a fabulous job... It's better than the original 70's something disco song! Not to mention a pleasant surprise when Kirsten sings.. she can sing .... very lovely.
I want the song "SEPTEMBER" (not the EARTH WIND & FIRE version) on CD... so I can listen to it in my car.... WHY isn't it on the Sound Track!??!?!?!?!?!?!? boohoo! How can I get it? Anyone know? Help?!

Summary: wonderful and hilarious
Review: i love this movie! ben foster and kirsten dunst are hilarious; although this movie was rather predictable **you do know who ben's character's gonna end up, don't you?** isn't every other chick flick? martin short was a lil annoying but i suppose that was his character. . . sisqo's acting debut wasn't really that great, i don't know why the hell he's actually on the cover, he didn't have many lines at all **maybe its suppose to be more commercially attractive, i suppose** but anyway, this movie is awesome, do NOT miss it! it's my new fave movie, and vitamin c is awesome when she sings in the movie, and sisqo's and her duet together **september** is great! i highly recommend it (and if you're wondering about what the story is about, read the other reviews)

Summary: A lot better than I expected it to be!
Review: Get over it tells the story of Berke (Ben Foster) is his highly hectic life. Ben used to date Allison and even though the two broke up he still can't get over her. In fact he's so engrossed in getting her back and breaking her up with her new boyfriend Striker, he barely notices Kelly (Kristen Dunst)who is quite smitten with Berke. But when he finally dose notice her he has her overprotective brother and his best friend Felix (Colin Hanks of Roswell fame) to worry about. Can Berke ever get over Allison? Will he choose Kelly over what he thought was his soul mate. Watch this movie to find out.

THough I expected it to be some boring teen flick (which I'm finding myself getting sick of) I was plesaently surprised. Get over it is a funny romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud. This movie also co-starred Mila Kunis (from that 70's show) who is admired from the sidelines from Berek's other freind Dennis who is played by Sisqo. With cameos from Vitamen C and Carmen Electra this movie is a great date flick and a good movie to see with your friends. I highly reccomend it. And if you don't like it, the prieview for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is worth the trip alone.

Summary: A nice surprise...
Review: "Get Over It" is about a high school student who is dumped by his girlfriend who he has known and loved for the majority of his life. He is distruagt and in a last ditch effort to get her back is to join in on the high school play of "A Mid Summers Nights Dream". He soon comes to find out that she is no longer his love. The film is a very nice film, with great acting, a funny and toughing plot and a great cast. Ben Foster, who plays Burke shined in this movie and I belive that this is a big jump start in his career. If he were to go in to a drama-horror, say like a Psychoesqe film, it would suit him so very well. Kirsten Dunst who played Kelly, is getting better and better with each nex film, she was good in "Drop Dead Georgous", but she is even better in this. Sisqo was surprising in his role, he showed he could really act and "earned" his show-boating that you see through out the movie. My favorite character, was played by Martin Short. I was SO surprised to see him in this sort of film. It is not what you would expect from a actor of his standing, but he chose the right teen film in this. I would really, suggest you not pass this up, it is worth the price and with beautiful sets for the play and great music at the beginning and end, it is a sure fire hit that everyone can enjoy.

Have a good one.

Ryan

Summary: Funny
Review: This movie isn't great but it is pretty darn funny espeicially the auditions for the play or during the beginning credits when Vitamin C sings the Captain and Tenile tune Love Will Keep Us Together this movie can keep you laughing through the entire film from whenever Martin Short talks to any singing part. It is a typical teen movie that has all the elements plus a few musical numbers from the beginning of the movie to the end it is all good. I would recommend this only to teenagers because adults will probably not enjoy it at all because of it's sometimes corny jokes but teens should enjoy it because of the comedy that we are used to in this day and age. I hope that this review has helped you!
