Rating: Summary: A WONDERFUL UNKNOWN MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a very charming and heartfelt movie that definetely leaves a long-lasting impression on it's viewer. It was, however, a movie that I had never heard a thing about. It has a variety of comedy, romance and drama. It is a very touching movie about the ties between family, the love between people and the reality that love exists in the world today. This movie has a very limited use of profanity and focuses more upon the facts of life. In actuality, these situations do take place!!! I wish I would have come across this movie years ago. It was released in 1997 and I've just recently watched it for the first time yesterday. I must also note that this is a gem of a movie that MGM needs to release to DVD to give it the treatment that it rightfully deserves!!! Anna is portayed by Gretchen Mol, a very talented and beautiful actress. She truly lights up the screen!!! If you enjoy her in this film, try to see her in Just Looking also, because it is very good. I can do nothing but praise this movie for it's charm and it's wit and also for it's life-like realism!!!!! See this movie if you haven't already-especially if you like romantic love stories!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Music from another room---music to our eyes Review: This movie is the kind of movie that makes you fall in love with it. The characters seemed so real that I felt like Danny Kowalski and Anna Swan really existed. Music from another room made me feel so happy inside and I watched 5 times in the same day. This movie is so romantic and should be a classic. If you haven't seen it, you MUST see it. I'm sure you will fall in love with it too. Everytime the movie is done it makes want to rewind it and start it all over. I love this movie!
Rating: Summary: "Truly Amazing" Review: If you have been blessed to stumble across this movie, by all means, you need to buy it. Rent it...run away to mexico and watch the spanish version. What ever you need to do to view this fantastic film, do it. I dont know why everyone is calling it cheesy...its ROMANTIC. My dad had seen it, and told me about it, so we rented it again. The first time I watched it, something came over me and I could feel the power of this movie running through me. I cried at the end, not only cuz its a great movie, but because the movie was over. How often do you do that?I thought that the acting was alright in this movie. To all the ladies, I'd suggest renting this just based on the fact that it is Jude Law's sexiest movie ever (watch for the part where he is chewing gum and the tiles are dumped in front of him..you'll thank me later!) but also because this movie had amazing writing. Not only was it the most romantic story ever, it was also hilarious at times. The whole scene in the hospital with Jesus is just marvelous!!! I watched this movie for a second time, and just finished it a half hour ago. I am still kind of tearing up. I will be ordering my copy, because the movie store wants theirs back!! Haha. People may call this movie cheesy, but if you are a hopeless romantic...a lonely girl who is looking for a amazing, life changing film starring a really hot guy, you move your mouse over and click the button to order this. You wont be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Sweet movie Review: This movie is so sweet and cute. But not sickly sweet in a typical teenaged flick way. The ending of the movie left me wanting more. Very nice movie to watch on a rainy day :)
Rating: Summary: I love this movie! Review: This is such an adorable movie! If you like romantic comedies, this is a must have. It's funny, Jude Law is nice to look at, and at the end all true romantic comedy lovers will be sighing "awww!!" It gets corny at parts (like the Savage Garden song) and it has the classic not-to-deep-or-hard-to-figure-out theme. However, to use a much overused cliche, it's a feel good movie. It's my favorite romantic comedy out there.
Rating: Summary: Only watched it for two things Review: I love Brenda Blethyn as an actress and Jude Law too and both give amazing performances in this film that is so boring and original I thought I'd fall over asleep. Gretchen Mol cannot act, poor girl and I pity her for that. I was surprised though and happy over Jennifer Tilly's performance which I thought was funny (There should have been more of her). Brenda and Jude did amazing performances (as usual) in a pretty boring film.
Rating: Summary: Nice Surprise! Review: I didn't even know this movie existed until it caught my eye one day in a store in their video section (I won't say where out of repect for Amazon). The start of the movie is alittle "cheesy" but once you get past the first 10 minutes or so and stick with it you will be pleasantly surprised. If you want to watch a happy, funny, feel-good type movie then you will enjoy this one very much. Everytime I see one of Jude Law's movies he amazes me. He is like a breath of fresh air in this film(and all other films I have seen him in) and without trying to be funny, he is, naturally by being the actor that he is. Gretchen Mol is so so. I am not so sure I would have cast her for the part, but, she is likeable enough. Her character needs someone to excite her and take her away and give her a sense of freedom which is what Danny (Law) does for her, or at least she eventually finds out. Also there are some quiet moments that will move you almost to tears. I have watched it 3 times now and am sure I will watch it more. I have become a huge fan of Law. He is a very unique type of actor and brings a sense of free spiritness to his roles. It never seems like he is truly acting but being himself. If you enjoy a good, clean, funny, light romantic comedy then you will love this one.
Rating: Summary: A nice, cheesy film Review: This film is a romance where the Meet Cute (to borrow a term from Roger Ebert) occurs when boy meets girl the moment she's born. He is Danny (Jude Law) and she is Anna (Gretchen Mol)...and as a small child he delivers her when her mother goes into labor. Soon after Danny moves to England with his American father. When he comes back twenty (or so) years later, he meets Anna by coincidence and realizes that he loves her and is destined to be with her. Awww...anyway, the story follows their romance as well as the relationship between Nina (Jennifer Tilly), Anna's blind sister, and Jesus, a dishwasher. A few hilarious dinner scenes are thrown in with the rest of the (extremely disfunctional) family--rounded out by Brenda Blethyn as the dizzy matriarch. Despite an interesting cast, this movie is quite cheesy. However, after I write this review I am heading out to the local Blockbuster to rent it again. Why? To see Jude Law's excellent performance, of course. He takes an unforgiving role as a lovesick puppy (check out the scenes where he gets knocked out by a car door, and--my personal favorite--dresses like a pig while feminist actresses beat him with sticks) and makes it sparkle. A lesser actor would have appeared nerdy at best, pathetic at worst. Jude is mischeviously charming and we root for him to get the girl, even though Gretchen Mol's portrayal of Anna makes her irritatingly cranky for most of the film. Check this movie out, though, if you like sentimental films about romance...or Jude Law in a button-down shirt.
Rating: Summary: Music from another room Review: This movie is great, I first saw it on cable and do not remember this movie being released at the box office. I bought it and recommend this to the romantic at heart. I can see this over and over. This is a five star movie that has been widely over looked.
