Summary: Excellent Movie!
Review: Jerry Maguire is definatly a film that doesn't come along very often. It is inspirational, humorous, and even romantic. Tom Cruise really should have won an oscar for his performance. It blew me away! Out of a lot of the movies I have ever seen, this one made me smile and feel like crying at the same time. This movie proves that love is out there and that you can make your dreams happen. If you have never seen any of this movie, I strongly urge you to at least give this one a shot. You will not regret seeing this.

Summary: my favourite film ever and for good reason too!
Review: ive watched this film so many times, I could probably recite all of the doalog for you right now, but I wont. Jerry maguire is just brilliuance, im not quite sure where to start, it has everything, brilliant stars acting at there best. Seriusly, Tom Cruise has never been this good ever, and probably never will be again. The plot is increidbly clever, its not to complicated and its not dumb. The humor in this is not excelent, largely because its not imature sexual inuedo based, we all know, the classic "SHOW ME THE MONEY" but theres so many other moments that will have you laughing till you pee...
This film also has many tear jerking moments, for example, when Rod Tidwel becomes unconcius on the field after a tackle and what feels like the whole world holds there breath untill he says "im ok"
and of couse Jerrys incredibly sincear speach to get Dorothy back "...I need you, you complete me" and her famouse reply "you had me at Hello"
Just thinking of all these moments makes me want to watch it again. In short this film has everything anyone would ask from it, it is excellence, would cannot decsribe how brilliant it is, buy it, rent it, steal it off a friend, just get it, you have no idea what your missing out on!

Review: This film is on my top ten list of best movies ever, because you basically have so much fun watching it. And it has comedy, drama, romance, sports, great characters and a great script. And Cuba Gooding Jr. rocks here.

Summary: Show Me the Funny
Review: I'll start this review off by saying Cameron Crowe is amazing. If you liked Almost Famous and/or Say Anything, then you'll love this film.

Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) is an unscrupulous sports agent who has an epiphany one sleepless night in a hotel, prompting him to write a mission statement that he distributes throughout his agency. Heartfelt and honest, the mission statement gets him fired and garners the respect of a lonely single mother, Dorothy Boyd (played by the charming Zellweger). He retains a sole client, the over-the-top Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), and much hilarity ensues.

The acting is A+ all around. Cruise shines in the title role, earning a much-deserved Best Actor Oscar nod. He nails every expression and detail, making even Jerry the jerk likable at the beginning of the film. Cuba Gooding Jr. is fabulous, as usual. He steals every scene he's in and has amazing chemistry with both Tom Cruise and Regina King (Mrs. Tidwell). Bravo on the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, Cuba. Renee Zellweger is charming in her breakthrough role as Dorothy, "the world's oldest 26 year-old". Kelly Preston surprised me as the tough-as-nails, abrasive Avery. She does an excellent job with her supporting role. The entire supporting cast really makes the film work. Jay Mohr, Regina King, Kelly Preston, Jonathan Lipnicki (absolutely adorable), Bonnie Hunt and Jerry O'Connell provide a solid framework for both the story and the main cast. Todd Louiso is my favorite supporting actor. He plays the 'nanny' and is a riot.

Crowe does an excellent job of constucting a film with parallel stories, one moral and one romantic. He paints vivid, likeable characters with witty dialogue. Although predictable (What do you expect from a romantic comedy? They're all predictable.), this film is enjoyable whether you watch it for the first time or the ninety-first time.

The DVD is excellent and chock full of special features. The most notable being the commentary done by Cameron Crowe, Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Renee Zellweger.

Summary: A Hilarious Romance Story!
Review: Jerry Maguire leaves you smiling with those famous one-liners and the very funny and cute Jonathan Lipnicki. This movie brings an all-star cast to tell the story of a sports agent that had it all until he opened his mouth. He was fired and dishonored by his co-horts until he met a girl. At fist he just thinks she's hot, but goes along to marry and fall in love with this woman. With ups and downs, this movie is light-hearted and leaves you feeling good about yourself.

Summary: Best feel good film of the 90s!!!
Review: Jerry Maguire is a sports agent who wakes up one day and finds out the treadmill of the 80s and 90s "greed is good" work ethic is giving him a few sleepless nights. He writes a mission statement for his company that gets him fired, and sends him on a long journey of self-realization. Sometimes you get what you want, sometimes you even get what you deserve - just not always WHEN you expect it.

This is one of the best feel good films I have ever seen. Cameron Crowe's recipe for the perfect romance include a knock out script, unbelievable chemistry in the cast, and just the right quantities of drama, humor, and social commentary to satisfy everybody. If that doesn't get you to buy this, consider this - Jonathan Lipnicki - the cute kid in the Little Vampire and Stuart Little - is even younger and cuter and superbly directed. Key to the plot, he and Tom Cruise put down some of the best moments in the film, possibly on celluloid anywhere. Those magic moments are one of Crowe's specialties. You know those intimate little moments that really aren't in the script - like the way Kate Hudson looks at Patrick Fugit after she's just gotten bad intel on her current fling...they capture really deep truths about the character and make you bond with the characters in the film, almost like they were real people you'd like to know.

Then Cuba Gooding just steals the film in more than a couple places. Extremely funny, but much more than a caricature. Easy to understand why he got the Oscar for this one.

Renee Zellweger makes you want to watch the movie over and over again. She captures the essence of what it feels like to trust someone who is your inspiration, to be vulnerable, to be strong - but not to be pathetic for a moment. Again - part acting and part writing and directing. Crowe followed this movie up with the best American film in a generation - Almost Famous. His movies have enough pop culture in them to be entertaining - almost like a good musical hook - but enough soul truth to keep you coming back for a visit when the newness wears off. He is skilled beyond belief, but weaves his magic so well - you never give it a thought.

My only criticism in the DVD package itself. It is hard to navigate and lacks any meaningful special features. However, I still gave it five stars because I know I'll watch this as many times as I have seen Star Wars and the Sound of Music. Crowe makes me wonder if Atticus Finch isn't real, alive, and switched his profession to directing movies.

Summary: Mildly Entertaing
Review: Tom Cruise Plays a sports agent in His usual hot shot type of acting but this time he gets burned by the company he works for
for turning idelistic. It's a good film with some enjoyable comedy from Cuba Gooding Jr. It does however have it's dull moments but in the end the film does gets it message across
of one man's redemption through learning how to care for others instead of himself.

The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Editing, with Cuba Gooding, Jr. winning the Best Supporting Actor. Summary: DVD is great
Review: Saw the movie when it came out. Thought it was good. Watching the DVD made me see the movie in a different light. Maybe the best DVD to ever come out. GREAT behind the scenes footage. See Cuba Gooding audition. See Tom Cruise rehearse scenes on an empty set. See deleted scenes. Great movie commentary. The 2-disc DVD set is awesome. The movie stands over time and shows what sports is currently all about. Money!! And Jay Mohr steals the show in this movie.
