Summary: You gotta love it
Review: The first time I watched this movie, I couldn't understand all of the hype. I laughed a few times and that was about it. Then I watched it again, and again, and again.... Finally I realized what was so great about this movie. The fact that everyone can relate to one of the characters. If you can't, you've either been dateless your entire life or are too busy trying to be trendy to acknowledge your own feelings. I must say though, THIS IS A GUY FLICK!!! All of the women that I have watched it with haven't understood it, all of the guys have. You can't help but scream when Mike calls Nikki. It's hilarious, but heart-wrenching. There is my opinion on the movie, so do yourself a favor and buy it!

Summary: Date Movie for Guys
Review: Jon Favreau seems like a really cool guy. His characters always seem to have real friendly edge to them, kind of like the stereotypical best friend. In Swingers, Favreau plays this warm and friendly figure again, but with a slightly subversive and humorous twist. He still is a good guy, but it is more complicated than the usual buddy movie. Swingers is a great independent film, and Favreau shines in all aspects, both as actor and director.

Swingers is the story of two young men looking for women. Favreau's friend, Vince Vaughn, is a suave ladies man that racks them up like a shooting gallery. Vaughn feels he now has a fool proof way and method to pick up women, which is usually heavy on the machismo and light on the class. While Vaughn polishes his predatory skills, Favreau is distraught over a six-year relationship than recently came to an end. Even though he lives on the west coast, he is constantly thinking about his ex-girlfriend, making him unable to pursue new amorous opportunities. Favreau is a great brooder, and brings a genuine feeling of failure and melancholy to his role.

Swingers is a great movie because it is so real and honest. The examination of male relationships is just great, constantly hilarious and very genuine. At the same time, the dynamics of dating are looked at in a real, non-Hollywood way. It is just refreshing to see a quality movie based on the most part in reality. Favreau's group of friends pull of their roles very well, as struggling dreamers who avoid the boredom of life by spending night after night in LA lounges. Just a funny, funny movie.

Summary: Honest and funny
Review: Mike (Jon Favreau) is a nice guy trying to succeed as a comedian/actor in LA and pining away for the girl he left back east. Trent (Vince Vaughn) is a slick, smooth player who lives for the club scene and has taken Mike under his wing. This film shows us a few days in the lives of these aspiring actors and their friends, all barely getting by while they wait for their big break.

Mike is the heart of the film. His painful, awkward attempts to forget long-time girlfriend Michele and move on with his life made me laugh and cringe. The support and empathy that he receives from his friends adds a dimension to those characters and rescues them from becoming one-dimensional party boys. Despite the inherent shallowness of the club scene that provides the milieu for this film, director Doug Liman and writer Favreau show where their heart really lies in the film's resolution: Mike's problems are not solved by acheiving success in the entertainment industry, but by making a breakthrough in his personal life.

Summary: Cmon
Review: My original review for this film was too "edgy" so Amazon decided to shred it into clumps of pure idiotic rambling. Perhaps Amazon is as Tyrannical as Iraq because after writing a second review of the film they completely ignored it. Now, upon writing my third, I am ready to boycot this piece of love website. This film is about a really dull guy played by John Favreau. Even such a mundane guy has to act this dead. Vince Vaughn is like a snapple cap that repeats the same snapple fact, "You're so money and you don't even know it." This is not something to base a movie around. There are two other characters, but I don't remember who played them or what significance they played. I remember it's about guys more pathetic than even myself and women too hot to talk to these guys (even the strippers) find them attractive. The ending is like a cliche from a saturday night live episode. I have the feeling, similar too my viewing of this film, you will see only a small and insignificant apendage of this review. I hope Amazon falls with the rest of the economy. Peace and return safely.

Summary: Swingers Keeps Getting Better After The First Viewing!
Review: I grow weary of the BIG-200-Million-Dollar-Movie-Productions by Stephen Spielburg, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and the like. This movie is different. Swingers is "Money" because it didn't cost much money to produce - $250,000!! Do you know how to tell if a movie is great? Watch it a second and a third and a fourth time! Does it still hold your interest? "Swingers" keeps getting better the more times you view it! The movie surprises you beause it's real. I found myself laughing spontaneously at stuff I had missed the previous viewing. Jon Favreau (Mike)is getting over a relationship and Vince Vaughn (Trent) and the boys are his emotional support in the gritty-swinging city of LA. The acting by Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau is superb. The supporting cast is awesome. I especially liked "Sue" played by Patrick Van Horn. The Swing Band scene in the movie started a world-wide trend. The Swing band, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, sold a million records because of this movie. Swing night clubs started popping up all over the world and the U.S.. The movie felt like it was filmed with a hidden camera....absolutely "Money"! This movie is "Money Baby!" "I'm telling you it's Money!!"

Summary: A Classic in its Own Right
Review: Jon "Favs" is a master writer. Vinnie V is a master smooth talker. The two together knock my socks off. If you want to see classic acting unseen in our times, go, run, grab this movie. Curl up in front of the TV and get ready for a treat..watch it by yourself the first time with no distractions to properly grasp the classic it is; watch it a 3rd/4th time with friends to laugh.... You'll soon be reciting the already classic lines. Vince Vaughn is king; Jon Favrea is the co-king. Together=winners that are truly money.

Summary: Worthy of 10 stars!!!
Review: This film is without a doubt the greatest movie for guys of its generation.
As has been said in other reviews what makes this film so enjoyable to watch besides the clever writing and wonderful performances by the cast is the fact that you can relate to it. Every guy knows, or has known, a Trent, Mikey or Sue which is what makes it so easy to identify with the characters and immerse yourself into the story. As cheesy as it sounds, I always feel like I just spent an hour and a half with some of my closest friends after watching it.
The commentary by Favreau and Vaughn was hilarious, got a chance to pick up on little details I hadn't noticed before as well as other interesting tidbits about the movie. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the features.
