Review: Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez stars as Marisa, a single mother who leaves the mean streets each day to work as a maid in a classy Manhattan hotel. Ralph Fiennes plays a Senatorial candidate who stays at the hotel, mistakes Marisa for a wealthy socialite, and falls for her. There are misunderstandings galore, but true love prevails, and the two become a couple.

This is the first time I've seen Jennifer Lopez in a movie, and I was delighted with her. She is confident in front of the camera, dazzlingly pretty, and does a very good job of playing the heart-of-gold maid who ends up in management. Tyler Posey plays her gifted and sensitive son and is very talented.

Fans of Jennifer Lopez will enjoy her pleasing performance in "Maid in Manhattan," but others may find the script predictable and lightweight.
