Summary: Cute story but no chemistry betweent the leading actors
Review: The acting is good, but Campbell looks to be about 12 years old and I did not find the chemistry between he and Pitok convincing at all. Tori Spelling is good in a pivotal character role but overall the film was disappointing. A much better film, and one that did not get the exposure of Trick, is Broadway Damage. Check that one out instead!

Summary: A Very Uplifting movie
Review: I hadn't even heard of this movie before renting it (I bought the DVD immediately thereafter). After only one viewing, I was very affected by the story and the sincerity of the characters, especially Gabriel, played by Christian Campbell. The two main characters seem to be very opposite in their personalities at first, but as the story develops, the transformation of the characters and their feelings is very poignant.

The acting in this movie was extremely good...much better than one would typically find in a non-mainstream movie. All in all, this is a great movie with a great story. I look forward to more from Jim Fall.

Summary: Great Date Movie
Review: This movie has all the qualities of any great date movie. I mean what do two men, a drag queen, a loud female, and heartbroken cabaret singer have in common, love. Two man go through a night of ups and downs to find a quite spot only to fianlly to be alone in the morning in love. Anyone should see this movie as a great way to share a loving night together and watch the way a relationship can be forged in one wonderful steamy night. This movie is something that you wish would go on and on and never stop so that you could watch their relationship blum. Plus anyone would get a kick out of his idea for a "backyard". Like perviously meantioned this is one great date movie and holds you on the edge of you seat in suspense of their impending love.

Summary: Refreshing!
Review: Watching and rooting for the 2 lead characters, Gabriel and Mark to fall in love makes me want to do the same all over again. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and Tori Spelling, I think I can learn to like you.

Summary: Serious Viewing for the WeHo Crowd
Review: If your idea of great cinema is a lot of cliches, overacting, over the top stereotypes, and sentimental tripe mixed in with lots of beefcake, then this is your kind of movie. This movie is marginally better than much of the vacuous, solipsistic stuff out there that passes for great cinema with the gay community. It has a certain wan charm but is too in love with its own juvenile cuteness. And it's basic premise is rather farfetched. It's what most gay people seem to want: a bubbleheaded fantasy in which the good-hearted chorus boy protagonist gets to go home with the muscleboy of his dreams. And Tori Spelling seems to have gone to the Betty Hutton school of acting; I know her character is supposed to be irritating but couldn't she have been toned down a little? Some nuances? Some modulation? Perhaps that's asking too much in this genre of film where things are spelled out in BIG, SHRILL LETTERS (which is appropriate for the scene in the men's room with the drag queen but not much else). These types of movies are basically the gay equivalent of the teen pics of the fifties and sixties: cute, shallow, and ultimately forgettable.

Summary: One of the best!
Review: I just rented this movie and what a find! Great acting, especially by Tori Spelling, wonderful script. I thought to the 2 leads,Mark & Gabriel were wonderful and they really made you feel the attraction. Definetly a movie to view again & again. I can't wait until it comes down in price so I can get a copy for my own library. It is worth repeated viewings! Highly recommended!

Summary: Amazingly accurate
Review: One thing that I loved about the movie was the fact that got the lingo and attitudes of the characters so precisely. Sometimes playwrighters lose sight of reality when they right their material and it is no longer believable. I believe that this is a true account of the way things work.

It was a wonderfully charming movie with it's funny points and its more serious points. I also love them casting Tori Spelling as the annoying best straight female friend. How accurate.

Christian Campbell is a new artist and I hope to see him on the silver screen some more. As for the movie, I thought it was fresh and creative. I hope to see more like it.

Summary: YOU WON'T BE TRICKED BY 'TRICK'--IT'S GENUINE!
Review: After hearing about this movie since last year, I was not dissapointed in the least when I finally saw it on video. It never misleads you or pretends to be something it's not. It goes for character studies and aims right at your heart! The two leads are perfection as is their supporting cast, notably Tori Spelling in a "should have been nominated" performance! Watch it and you will enjoy!

Summary: A Triumphant Little Stride in Gay Cinema
Review: What can I say? This movie starts out like your typical queer flick, but soon turns into a wonderful heartfelt love story of two little guys in the great big city. When they try to have this "date", it just goes completely awry! Emtpy sex is not what this movie is about (what, at first, it would appear). It's about that first look that makes your heart start pounding and your tummy start doing cartwheels! It's about the disarming little glances, holding hands, and that first kiss! MORE THAN EVER, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...we are seeing greater acceptance of the gay community in movies and society today. It absolutely makes me proud to be gay when a wonderful film like this comes along and relates some of the things that gay people feel. This movie also realizes relationships with gay and straight people. I do, in fact, feel that any number of my straight friends wouldn't mind watching this movie! In fact, I plan to show it tonight! My most important point I feel I should make about this film is that IT IS TIME that gay society start acting in a civil manner when it comes to dating or courtship. That's the point. Gay people don't know how to date, only have sex. With a whole new younger generation of gay kids coming out, their first experiences should be like in this movie, one could only wish. This film is such a wonderful commentary on how beautiful a gay relationship can be. People need to see that there is more to gay people that just sex- or disease- related issues. This film demonstrates a wonderful lesson of how gay love should be pursued in this next century that we've just happened upon. Thank you... to the producers for making such a wonderful piece of work that touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye!
