Rating: Summary: A Truely Aweful Movie that tries too hard Review: This is a love story staring Gellar and Flanery whose performances make the best of a truely aweful script and plot. Amanda's (Gellar) cooking is inspired by mystical forces (perhaps her dead mother or angels) and people who eat her food are overtaken by their passions and desires. This helps the couple hook up. This sounds like a great idea for a movie (try "Like Water for Chocolate") but this is not a great movie. Were it not for the slightly adult themes, this could be a Children's Special. It even has a talking crab. A truely aweful combination of cliches and ideas from other places, this movie is sabrina-meets-90201 flop that not even die-hard fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar will enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Great movie! Review: I loved this movie with Sarah Michelle Gellar. It's such a great movie with an awesome storyline.
Rating: Summary: Original story Review: Bravo for an original storyline! Quite refreshing than the usual boy runs into girl scenario.
Rating: Summary: Magical Review: For all movie lovers who still believe that being in love is something magical, this is your movie. It depicts how even when you encounter true love, how some people can't handle it because instead of enjoying and treasuring the moment, they feel as though they are giving up life as they know it and they don't realize that life as they knew it, was no life at all. Life is short and you must savor every moment and people come and go so fast, that even if someone comes into your life but only for a short time, it may possibly be the most passionate and intense love you'll ever know. This movie is sweet and romantic and it leaves out all of the hot and steamy situations that people think make a good relationship. It's a movie that pre-teenagers can watch and bottom line is that being in love is great. Reviewing it at another angle, it shows how, Amanda's mother, even though she is not with her, through O'Reilly and the "special" helps her get the restaurant and her love life in order. Which is what all parents want for their children; that they find someone that makes them happy and that they do well in life.
Rating: Summary: Simply Irresistible Review: A cute fantasy love story. If your looking for a sappy happy ending love story, this is the movie for you.
Rating: Summary: Sarah Michelle Gellar IS Irrisistible! Review: First of all let me say I am a HUGE Sarah fan, and this film has gotten bad reviews from alot of people. This is not a film for you if you are looking for if you are looking for action, if you are, don't get this, because you won't like it. If you like romantic dramas, you will definetly like this. This movie wasn't made expecting EVERYONE to fall head over heels in love with it, it was made for people who enjoy films like this. Sarah plays a young girl who has no parents, and she lives by herself, and she runs her mom's resturaunt with her aunt. When the resturaunt may have to close because rent can't be kept up, somehow, Sarah's character starts to make delicious, delectable, irrisistible food that everyone falls in love with. She meets this guy who is opening a resturaunt, and the film just flows out from there. It's a great film, and it's great for those who want to watch a good movie with their girlfriend or boyfriend or for someone who just wants a good Saturday night movie to chill and watch. Sarah Michelle Gellar gives an amazing performance as usual, and you will not be dissapointed.

Rating: Summary: Simply Magical Review: Simply Irresistible may not have done well in the box office, but that certainly doesn't mean that this film doesn't have any charm. Just because a movie doesn't find a proper following doesn't make it any less charming, in my opinion. Simply Irresistible is one of the best movies I've seen that hasn't had much viewership. It's fun, sweet, romantic, and just simply enjoyable all the way through. This movie certainly boasts a top-notch cast that is led by the wonderful and amazing Sarah Michelle Gellar and Sean Patrick Flanery. Amanda, played by Sarah Michelle, starts off as an awful chef but almost magically turns into a wonderful one overnight. She then begins falling in love with Tom, played by Sean Patrick, who is the owner of a popular department store. Simply Irresistible tells a wonderful and romantic story of how scary falling in love can truly be and how wonderful it can be all at the same time. If you're in the mood for a light, romantic comedy, then I highly recommend this movie.
Rating: Summary: I really wanted to like this movie Review: This is one of those romantic comedies that you will try so desperately to like but will probably come out disappointed. The plot has Gellar as a chef, taking over a little restaurant but struggling to keep it afloat with her terrible cooking. However, with the help of a magical crab her love for businessman Flannery starts going in with her food, making the restaurant a real hit with people all over town. Of course this is one of those deals that sometimes comes off sweet and sometimes comes across as sickly. Gellar is just about the best thing about this film, playing equal parts naivity and independence perfectly. She proves herself more than able not only as the layered character of Buffy, or as the vamp in 'Cruel Intentions' but also as the girl next door. She manages to carry off even the most cringe-worthy scenes, such as where the two are carried into the air on a whisp of blue smoke, with a sort of light-hearted ease that works well. Indeed, the acting here really isn't the problem. It's the execution of the magical parts of the movie that don't sit right. The winking crab among the pots and pans was a terrible idea and the desserts that make the eater horny is an old ploy that fails in this particular movie. Yet even with these inconsistencies the film is still very dull, and any movie that's dull is surely a failure. At the end of the day though you feel most sorry for the actors, all of whom are so much better than the material given here. Watch 'Cruel Intentions', because it's much more enjoyable than this.
Rating: Summary: Light and Sweet Film Fare Review: This is a sweet film about love and magic that is an old style film with a lot of charm. It is the kind of film made in the '40s that hopefuly will find more of an audience on DVD than it had at the theatre. Sarah Michelle Gellar is sweet and wonderful as Amanda, trying to run the restaurant her mother left her and which is about to go under. Sean Patrick Flanery is the executive in charge of opening the large upscale department store who stops in and falls under her spell through her cooking, which has suddenly taken on "magic" properties. The magical spell of this film is how much we enjoy it's simple and quietly romantic story. Gellar and Flanery are perfect as they slowly come together as a couple in spite of the obstacles. This film is charming and romantic and will leave you feeling good about the "magic" of falling in love. If you like your romantic fare light and sweet then this is for you. Roger Ebert said this film was "Enchanting and Romantic" and I have to agree. Simply Irresistible is Simply Charming....
