Review: This is one of Jim Carrey's first R-rated movies, and he has ditched his trademark gross-out humor in favor of more straight-forward sexual innuendo("sound good, candy-pants?"), comical methods of swearing("Oh,---- my ozone.") and just beating the living tar out of himself, since he is the battlefield for two seperate personalities waging war over the same body. Charlie Bailygates (Jim Carrey, of course) is the kind of guy that you can just walk all over. He's been a painfully docile and non-confrontational police officer ever since his wife left him for a vertically challanged smart-elic and left him the responsibility of raising little Jamaal, Lee Harvey, and Shonte jr.But one day, all that changes. When Charlie is pushed too far, Hank, the personification of all of Charlie's repressed anger, erupts and the battle for the Bailygates body is on. It turns even more so when Irene (Renee Zellwegger) is on the run from her old boss, whose out to kill her. Charlie tries to protect her, but Hank gets in the way alot, and the two personalities compete for Irene's affections. IRENE is the kind of movie that doesn't completly succeed or fail in it's attempts to cause laughter. Hank is the ironic character. He seems to have been concoted as comic relief for a comedy. I don't think this is a bad thing at all, I liked the movie. Hank may actually be the most interesting character in the movie, and the dirty tricks he pulls to get cozy with Charlie's Angel result in Charlie eventually getting tazered, thrown off a hill, and kicked in the nuts. Hank is the first alternate personality I've seen with road rage. The funniest scene, by far, has got to be when Hank and Charlie get in to a fist-fight, with the end result being Jim Carrey smacking himself around. Then there's the scene where Hank first appears, and unleashes the proper comuppance on the people who use Charlie for a doormat, though the woman with the baby didn't desreve what she got. In all, I found it to be pretty funny. In all, how funny you find depends on whether you find an albino nick named "Milky" or "Whitey" amusing.

Summary: trivia update for ;Me Myself & Irene
Review: ...after having played little league with Car dealer AL CERRONE...I asked him some decades later at a Commander Cody Show at CHAN"S restaurant, if he wanted to play ball again....he was more than mildly interested,So we formed a mens team in South Kingstown RI.... finishing 2nd ,2 years in a row we are 5-1 to date this year with a very nice family type team.
To my surprize when I saw this very funny movie,and the softball team segment,I had already formed the team. Ironic.
So as much as Mike Cerrone helped the Farrellys in the movie, I do believe Smokey Cerrones boy Al was the reference as the softball sponsor.

Summary: It gets better every time
Review: The first time i saw this movie, it really seemed mediocre and not well made. Then about a year later i saw it again, and it seemed a little funnier. Then i saw it again, and it got a little more funnier. Then i watched a few more times, and it got funnier every time i saw it. Maybe it's the type of movie you have to watch a few times to get to like. If you do get this movie, make sure you watch it more then once.

Review: A truly amusing movie, with lots of twists and turns that will have you rolling on the floor. If you appreciate sick humor this has it all. If you like something about mary this one will be enjoyable as well.

Summary: A few scattered laughs, but mostly predictable
Review: Those Rhode Islanders are back with more crude humor and this time, they've erred. First, the film tries to be a police story with a comedy shell, when it might be better as a romantic comedy. It's already obvious that Charlie/Hank (Jim Carrey) and Irene (Renee Zellweger) are going to fall for each other. Why have a pointless chase story in the mix? But for what it's worth, it did have a few laughs. There is a scene with a dying cow that raises a few eyebrows, and I liked Charlie's three children, who grew up watching Richard Pryor and still live with their father. The ending was a little uninspired, but had a particularly funny moment that I won't spoil. Mostly, it's by-the-numbers Farrelly. I'd only recommend it to die-hard fans of those brothers.

Summary: Runs Out Of Steam After A While
Review: Me, Myself, and Irene is just a one trick pony movie. Yes, Jim Carey pulls off a few amusing scenes. After a while though it gets kind of redundant. How often can you stomache Carey jumping back and forth from an easy going loyal person to a vengeful creep. The plot is truly helter skelteras it seems as if at the last moment that decide to throw in the old double agent routine to make Carey look like the true good guy. Meanwhile, look at all the criminal acts that Carey participated in. The roles of the three African American sons at first is a bit comical. However this sidebar act wears thin with the rapid fire cursing. It is way too stereotypical. A few amusing scenes here and tehre but overall this is a dissapointment. Seek out The Mask or even The Truman Show as these are superior to the medicore Me, Myself, and Irene.

Summary: more Farrelly than Carrey, still good stuff
Review: Carrey plays Charlie Baileygates, so mild-mannered and self-effacing that everyone walks all over him -- including his first wife, who cheats on him with the chauffeur who drives them home form their wedding. She gives birth to 3 African-American triplets -- one of whom is named Lamont, Junior --- and then runs off with Lamont Senior. Charlie raises the boys, who becomes obese geniuses, figuring out trigonometry with hip-hop langauge. Charlie develops a split personality named Hank, who kicks the behind of everyone who walks over Charlie. But Hank does not like Charlie, and when they both fall for Irene (Renee Zellweger), whom Charlie is escorting from Rhode Island to New York to pay off a parking ticket, things get very bad indeed. It is touching how much Charlie loves the triplets, he really is their dad in how he cares for them. And when Daddy is in trouble, the three teenagers rally to the cause to save him from, well, himself! Lots o fcursing, but still a family! very cute.

Summary: Dumb, dumber and just plain stupid.
Review: This has got to be one of the worst comedies I've ever seen. I could barely watch this whole movie. There were some funny parts early in the movie. But, once you saw them continue to shoot a living cow, that was the end for me. That was totally unamusing and sick. I've never been a big fan of Carrey to start with. Now I'm even lesser of a fan. To me a 6th grader could write a better movie than this.
