Rating: Summary: Classic Carrey Review: Me, Myself, and Irene is what you have come to expect from Jim Carrey in a comedy. He has ventured off into "different" roles lately and I'm glad he has come back to his roots. Carrey's character in this movie is a lot similar to his other characters in other movies like The Mask. He changes into different personalities in both. Liar Liar because he has something inside of him that he wants to get rid of, and Dumb and Dumber because of the goofy haircut and just plain dumbness sometimes. Me, Myself, and Irene is not a movie that you should take seriously. It has a lot of bathroom humor and crude comments that seem to be just right for the movie. Also I have never laughed at somebody using the "F" word but in this movie it is hilarious. Me, Myself, and Irene is Jim Carrey at his best. It may not be his most successful movie but it is still a gem. 5 Stars
Rating: Summary: A Diamond In The Rough Review: While this movie wasn't bad it also doesn't deserve too much praise. It is funny but in a way that is becoming all to common by use of cheap laughs. Sexual innuendos, perverse seens hamper this movie. Jim Carrey did an excellent job portraying the duality of the character. The fault with this movie lay in the directing. The Farrelly brothers continue their profane attack on Hollywood. I don't think its ok to drop moral standards just for a cheap laugh. Parents might want to pay attention to the R rating before buying for a young teen. However For the rest another fantastic job by Jim Carrey that should be added to a Growing collection of his hits. Good Acting + Good Story - Bad directing = A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
Rating: Summary: This film is fairly ridculous. Review: It is impossible to argue that Jim Carrey can be a very talented actor at times, but do we ever really see him do anything different? The small part in Simon Birch was perhaps the only film that provides any break from Jim's usual comical pieces, and honestly, I think both him and they are getting old. This film is not realistic on any level, but then many great films are unrealistic. Not only is it unrealistic, it is really nothing else spectacular. It is not particuarly funny apart from the character Charlie's black children and their constant cussing (which will no doubt offend some) and the main female actress is fairly bland and insipid. It is absolutely nothing to marvel over, the humour is a fine balance of stupid and non existant, and I certainly would not reccomend this to anyone. It has few merits, is really not that enjoyable, and frankly a waste of money and time on my part.
Rating: Summary: the funniest jim carrey movie ever Review: This his such a funny movie. I loved it so much it was better than titanic.
Rating: Summary: Don't Buy this movie Review: I don't know what they paid Jim Carrey to do this movie, but it wasn't enough. I paid good money to see this garbage and Carrey should be ASHAMED of himself for participating in trash like this. This movie is offensive and mean spirited, it's not funny at all! It was like torture sitting through this film. It is degrading to women, the leading lady is treated as property in the movie and is portrayed to like it. It also has an underlying message that people who work hard and obey the laws of society are somehow uncool and undesirable.Don't waste your money and more importantly don't buy it to send a message that intelligent people won't support the production of material that further undermines the ever decaying social order of this country.
Rating: Summary: Better then what most people think...... Review: Whoa,I thought this movie was going to be horrible..it seems so over looked. But it turned out to be very appealing.Sure maybe some people might not like all the swears,Hank, or the plot but when you go see a comedy who looks for a ground breaking story line?I thought this movie was really funny.Jim Carrey was great. You really belive that he was 2 people.Charlie the guy that get pushed around ALOT from his neighbors to the little girl on the street.Hank is the foul-mouth jerk that hits on Irene and appears when Charlie starts to get mad.Personally I liked Hanks personality better,Charlies was to cute?Heh..I dont know how to put it.Anyways I loved this movie, yeah, its pretty much you typical Jim Carrey movie, but Jim rocks!Hmm..ok just go rent it,its worth it. P.S. Happy Day-Late Birthday,Jim!
Rating: Summary: Ready to lose weight? Review: I highly recommend this movie because it's so EFFING funny!I held my stomach troughout the movie and I think I lost so much calories. This movie is going to be slept on because people will think Carrey is overrated and bla bla... Those people are wrong and don't be one of those people who miss out on good comedy.
Rating: Summary: Jim Carey at his antics again Review: Ohhh boy... where to start with this one! Personal opinion... Jim Carey asks for so much money for his films that they have to cut the budget on writers, scripts, and plot! A modern day Jekyl and Hyde... Charlie is a schizophrenic with narcisistic rage (narcisistic is right!). The movie itself was horrible. This isn't to say that I didn't have a good laugh or two... who couldn't laugh at some of his antics and his faces/voices?! All I'm going to say is "it's been done... what's next for Carey?!" The only movie I liked him in was Liar Liar... however, he seems to have quite a following and some very good co-stars (and some VERY attractive ones at that!). If you're not a Jim Carey fan, DO NOT BUY THIS... wait for someone else to and go see it at their house! However, if you liked Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, and the insipid Cable Guy; and if you never seem to tire of his off the wall physical style of comedy... you'll love it. Of course, that's just my opinion... and I'm entitled to it! :P
Rating: Summary: "The Carrey's meet The Farrelly's" Review: In the recent past, there have been several motion pictures with plots involving split personalities, "The Nutty Professor" among others. "Me, Myself and Irene" is, without a doubt, the funniest, most creative and fresh take on the rare instance where two different types of the same individual are confined to one human body. Peter and Bobby Farrelly used Rhode Island as the setting for the well-executed plot that featured unheard of and hilarious comedic twists. Every unusual thing you couldn't think of, they (Farrelly's) did. As the movie begins, the plot is poured mildly onto the viewer. In a small town in Rhode Island directly north of South America, an honest, by the books police officer who gives 110% day in and day out is thrown a curveball in life due to his painstakingly forgiving personality. When his wife runs off with a dwarf, a line is crossed through the subconscious mind of Charlie (Jim Carrey) and, out of nowhere, an alter ego is born that takes the duty of making up for all the times that Charlie was taken advantage of. He is given the mischevous name Hank, and Charlie has a lack of control over him until he, more or less, fights him. Both halves of Jim Carrey are given the duty of safely escorting Irene (Renee Zellweger) to a court trial across the states, where Charlie and Hank switch places every now and then. Hank causes controversy to castmates in the movie with his role as a perverted and arrogant degenerate. Throughout all of this, Charlie does the right thing by taking care of his three young adult sons, whom have a quality that could not be guessed if you haven't seen or read about this movie. Although it is the funniest movie I have ever seen, it stands as one of the more offensive films that I have watched. Despite a few objectionable scenes, it blows away all of the long-running comedy classics, from "Blazing Saddles" to "Monty Python". As icing on the cake, there are cameo's from a couple of NHL superstars and a smooth looking tennis player.
Rating: Summary: Me, Myself, And Jim Carrey Rock! Review: A man with multiple personalities falls in love with a woman, only to find out that his other personalities have also. They end up fighting each other for her hand.
