Rating: Summary: If you haven't already, watch this movie ASAP. Review: The relationship between Willie and Marty is the thing that makes this movie, him wanting the beautiful girl (and even though it seems kind of sick I found myself wanting her as well) yet knowing that it's an impossible fantasy. The fact that she likes him as well makes it even harder to handle but as is illustrated we all have to face reality sometime however hard that may be. The yearning for something unattainable is sad and something that a lot of people can probably identify in some way, and that's something that makes this movie great - the way in which there's a part of (I guess almost) everyone in some form in this movie. A great script with excellent music this is one movie that you'll want to watch again and again. A lot more special than your run of the mill Hollywood blockbuster. I've always wanted to find a favorite movie, and I've decided that this is it.
Rating: Summary: Great acting! Definitely a guy movie. Review: Friends from high school met for a reunion. Small town folks can relate to this movie.
Rating: Summary: Worth seeing over and over and over and over and over..... Review: Wow...I loved this movie. After watching Beautiful Girls I felt like I knew all of the characters. As if they lived in my town, next door to me. I was particularly impressed by performances by Timothy Hutton(Willie) and Natalie Portman(Marty). I immediately fell in love with (the always stunning)Natalie's character and found MYSELF jealous of the 12 year old kid on the bike. Definitely a movie worth seeing many times
Rating: Summary: A PLEASURE TO WATCH Review: Don't let the title put you off seeing this fantastic rites of passage movie.A stunning soundtrack, great performances and a story that leaves you touched. Don't miss it.
Rating: Summary: Fantasic Review: This is my favourite movie of ALL TIME. Timothy Hutton put on his best performance since Ordinary People in this movie. A rising star was born in this movie, the one and only Natalie Portman. What a delightful film. It's like a cross being, The Big Chill, Diner and Lolita. The humour is there, the drama is there and the romance is there. Don't let the title draw you away from the movie. It's a movie about wise women, and men who succum to them. A little of this, a little of that, and you have the wonderful movie BEAUTIFUL GIRLS. You must see this movie. It's brilliant.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Girlls is a must-see Review: I'm an 18 year old Natalie Portman fan who rented this movie because of her appearance. I would have been contented by just her appearance, but I came away feeling the urge to buy this movie, not just for her performance, but because this is a thoroughly enjoyable movie. So much in this movie got to me in the smallest, yet unforgettable kind of ways. Natalie plays Marty as a convincing "beautiful girl" who will become "amazing". I can't think of a movie which showcased this girl's talents better than this. Beautiful Girls was never taken in by the moviegoers as a whole, but if you want to see Natalie at her best in a movie that is much more than watchable, see this movie, don't just make it a rental, buy it as you'll be aching to see it again and again.
Rating: Summary: Truly "Superb" movie! Review: This is a great movie... the story, the acting, the settings and mood. I love it! If I were to sum up this movie into just one word, it would be... ... ... "Superb"! :)
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Movie! Review: I love this movie. I have seen it an uncountable number of times. The cast is so great, and the only thing I would change: Willie would wait for Marty.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful girls is a beautiful story Review: Possibly the most unexpected movie based on the title I have seen in years. The actors may not be my favorites, but when you put them together with some great writing and a sound score, it becomes a warm and reflective story. I know that for me as a male it brought back many memories and I think it would appeal in a similar way for females.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Drama Love Story! Review: I loved this movie! I was first attracted to the movie, because of the hillarious and talented Rosie O'Donnell. The entire movie was a sweet and compasionate story line that movie-goers everywhere will enjoy. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and in the end feel all "warm and fuzzy".
