Summary: Great Movie
Review: Great Film with a great sense of character development. At the end of the movie where Simon visits his son, watchers are treated to a comparison of Monty at the beginning of the film to Monty at the end. The real son has the attitude of Monty at the beginning of the film; whereas, you can see Monty at the end has a very different perspective. Regardless, great film.

Summary: All around feel good movie!
Review: I have had this movie since it was released and just recently upgraded to a DVD version. It has a wonderful plot and great characters. This was before (sorta) Brendan Fraser got that horrible type cast as George of the Jungle and the like, and proves that he is a talented actor as well. Moira Kelly is also fantastic as the sexy coed obsessed with sex (I recommend The Cutting Edge for Moira fans). Definetly an A+ script with A+ actors. Funny, witty, sentimental and a feel good movie.

Review: This movie left me in tears. I recommend it to anyone. Wonderful writing, acting, directing. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this movie.

Summary: a different take on college characters
Review: With Honors certainly has its problems. It's predictable and more than occasionally cheesy. But the cast make it well worth watching. They do their best with the lines they're given, and all of them actually act--facial expressions and physical cues and changes in tone of voice instead of just reciting the lines. Brendan Fraser's character visibly relaxes as the story progresses, and Joe Pesci's performance is simply great.

More to the point (for me, anyway), this is the only "college movie" I can recall seeing where the student protagonists are actually concerned both about academics and about attempting to grow as people, rather than being on a perpetual quest for spring break/girls/boys/beer/all of the above. Even better, the writer attempts to be serious about student worries instead of taking the easier route of mocking the nerds. When the script comes down off its soapbox, it's a fine ensemble show about the high cost of trying not to need other people. Beneath his defiant exterior, Simon (Joe Pesci) is haunted by the family he abandoned; Monty (Brendan Fraser) hides behind academic achievement because his grades can't walk out on him like his father did; Courtney (Moira Kelly) settles for an empty physical relationship with a good-looking jerk because her emotions are tied up in her efforts to reach out to Monty. Ultimately, I liked With Honors less because of the warm fuzzy moral point it was trying to make than because I liked the characters. Most unusually for any movie, I could relate to most of the characters. Cheers to the writer and especially the actors for making their characters real.

Summary: One of my Favorites.
Review: This movie is one of my favorites, and in the past year I've seen alot of movies, see I work in a video store. Anyway, when I first saw this movie it was on TV. I was flipping through the channels and saw Joe Pesci who plays Simon Wilder, a bum, I thought to myself oh...look at the dwarf! I had no idea what this movie was about. I continued to watch it and soon, I figured out the plot and everything. The characters are very powerful, and each actor gives a great performance. This is a light-hearted, though sometimes heart wrenching movie, that I would highly recommend to anyone that's searching for a bit of reality.

Summary: Very enjoyable.
Review: Even though this movie takes place during a harsh winter, it instills a warm feeling in you.

I personally think this is one of Joe Pesci's best films (and he's had a lot of great ones). It's the kind of movie you want to watch on a cold night while wrapped up in a blanket. I know that sounds cheesey as hell but, hey, it's the truth.

Basically, if you want to see a thought provoking, well-written movie with some memorable performances, rent or buy "With Honors."

Review: Predictable?...Yes...Dull?...Absolutely not! Superb casting elevates this plot to a jem of a film. A simple act of fate lands Monty in a bargain with "Whitman's Ghost" at the Harvard U library. Over time, Monty learns more than he bargained for.

It challenges our perception of success in life and love through the eyes of a homeless man and IV leager. It dares one to think outside the box and have your own mind. EXCELLENT!

Review: This movie is one of my favorites, I have watched it many times and never get tired of it. I totally think that this movie gives us all a sence of respect for not only homeless people, but people in general. As we move into the 21st century, we all need to realize that prejudice, is unwelcome, and is needed to be forgoten. This movie reinforces the saying,"dont judge a book by its cover" Everyone has a story to tell...

Review: Most people think this movie is about being nice to a homeless, graduating, even pettiness. But it's not. It's about for Monty to move on he has to forgive his past and by then he can welcome the future. His original thesis was punishing, pessimistic and essentially easy solution. His latter thesis unconsciously developed by experiencing a search of redemption for a man who realizes a terrible mistake he had made once. And the man finals attempt to settle down by looking for his son reception. Whom the movie nicely set an example of his son being what Monty would become if he hadn't change. A very succesful man with unforgiving soul. More about his uptight stand toward his lady friend but my space is up.
