Summary: Pros and Cons
Review: I usually write longer reviews, but I'm going to make this short and quick as that's the feeling I got from this movie. First of all, the premise is that a young woman is given an assignment to get a guy and then lose him in 10 days. Likewise, a guy has been given a bet that he must make this same woman fall in love with him (yet neither of them knows what the other is doing). The result is that she's desperately trying to make him drop her by being incredibly annoying, and he's trying to stick it out. Of course, by the end they determine the truth, yet have fallen in love with one another, etc., etc.It is definitely a "chic flick," and as such, there are certainly formalic and cliche plot twists. However, that said, it does seem to raise the bar from your even more generic, run-of-the-mill, romantic comedy. I only go to these movies to appease my wife (HONEST!) and there are these kinds of movies out there that I've watched where I wish someone would have blown my brains out instead. But to be honest, I have to admit that by the end of this particular movie, I had been entertained, I did laugh, and the overall premise was somewhat unique, even for as gimmicky as it was. Therefore, if you like "chic flicks" you'll love this one. And for those guys who don't like them -- trust me... you could do a lot worse than this one, so if that special woman in your life has been pushing you to attend one of "these movies" with her, pick this one.

Review: I love this movie sooo much! I was laughing constantly when I saw it in the movie theater. I reallllly want it to come out on DVD now!!! Why do we have to wait until July 1st!??! It should come out in May!!!

Summary: Excellent except for one niggling piece (spoilers)
Review: I walked out of this film very happy to have seen it, but with a small feeling that something didn't seem right with the ending. After quite a bit of thought it was this: we never got to see his transformation from bet to love. Just one little bit of dialogue with a friend would have made this movie complete for me. The actions eventually were there, but when did he leave the bet behind and realize that it was no longer his motivation? I would have liked to have seen that moment. I wouldn't let this gripe keep anyone from the movie. I even plan to buy it.

Summary: absolutely the funniesy movie i have ever seen!
Review: i went to see this movie three weekends in a row and i still love it just as much as if it was my first time seeing it! It is great! Matthew and Kate are one the few hollywood co-stars that actually seem to have a definite chemistry in order to star in a romantic comedy. Do not hestitate about buying this DVD because it will definately put you in a good mood when you are feeling down! Also, while your at it, pick up the soundtrack as well, because the music is one of the things that made the movie for me.

Summary: Entertaining but formulaic
Review: Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) is a successful "How To" columnist for a popular women's magazine. Andie is tasked by her editor to find a man, start a relationship with him, and the do the stereotypical things that drive men away (for instance, redecorating his apartment with stuffed animals, using baby talk). The result of her experiment will become the subject of her next column. Ben Barry (Matthew McConaughey) is an advertising executive who, in order to win a major account, bets that he can win the heart of any woman. These two characters target each other for their article and bet, and the movie sets off on its predictable path. Don't get me wrong: I did enjoy the movie. Hudson and McConaughey have good chemistry, and are supported by an excellent ensemble that includes a good performance by Bebe Neuwirth as Andie's editor. The things that Hudson's character contrives to drive Ben away are often humorous, and the lengths to which Ben goes to tolerate Andie's behavior are also funny. The rest of this paragraph may be considered a SPOILER by anyone who hasn't seen a Hollywood movie in the last decade. My problem with the movie is that the plot is based on a well used formula where one character manipulates another into falling in love, then becomes emotionally attached to his or her "target," and faces heartbreak when the "target" discovers that they are being used. The only twist to this formula is that both characters are using each other. "How to Lose a Guy In Ten Days" isn't a bad movie. It's just a movie where you can see the ending right from the beginning. Fortunately McConaughey and Hudson are engaging enough to get you to the end of the journey.

Review: I almost didn't go see this movie because of the critics reviews. I love Kate Hudson so thought it worth a shot. I laughed out loud and thought it was great. Well worth the time and money.

Review: This movie is for the young and old, male and female. Everyone will enjoy it. When I went to go see it in the theater everyone was laughing and there were young and old people there. If you like romantic comedies this movie is highly recommended. I liked this movie because it was really funny and it is a great romantic comedy. This movie will have everyone laughing. This movie it soo good that it is worth going to go see more than once. I am definatly going to buy it when it comes out on DVD. Everyone should go see it, male and female. You will get your money worth.
