Rating: Summary: My Favorite Movie Of All Time! Review: I have watched this movie countless times! It just doesn't get old! John Cusack is in top form. Daphne Zuniga fit perfect in this role, and I think it is the best thing she has done. Rob Reiner is an excellent director, and in The Sure Thing, he has made a an oddball romantic comedy that I believe will stand the test of time. It is very obviously inspired by It Happened One Night. But Reiner didn't just copy the movie, and update it. He took some of the ideas that made It Happened One Night so funny, and added alot of new ideas. Throw in Cusack with his razor sharp comedic timing, and Zuniga as the straight person, and you have a classic! If you have not seen this movie, buy it!
Rating: Summary: Worth it for one scene alone Review: "I'm talkin' to ya cellular!"For that line alone from Dr. Green of ER fame--buy this! A John Cusack B-classic (not as good as Say Anything, eh) especially for his letter to Penthouse that gets read aloud by accident in English class--priceless!
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate John Cusack movie Review: FINALLY!! This movie on DVD. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is a classic 80s movie with John Cusack, Daphne Zuniga and a few other well know actors. I lurve the scene when they are trying to hitch a ride and Daphne gets one off some creepy guy. Classic. So buy this movie now, you won't regret it. Even if you've seen it a million times (like me), watch it again as I know I will be.
Rating: Summary: A Great Romantic Comedy Review: The Sure Thing is the best romantic comedy I have ever seen, and I don't say that lightly. John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga are superb together. The chemistry is great, and Cusack is an "absoute-laugh-riot." It is heart warming, and gives those who are looking for the love of their lives hope. The screenplay is as witty and as intelligent as any I have ever seen. Rob Reiner continues his brilliant string of movies. Do yourself a favor and rent this one.
Rating: Summary: August 5th-A red letter day for Sure Thing fans. Review: MGM has announced a Special Edition DVD of the Sure Thing for August 5, 2003. It's about time. I'll be first in line for this Cusack Classic.
Rating: Summary: Gotta love corduroy!!!!! Review: I seriously thought I was the only person on this earth that has seen The Sure Thing!!!I first saw this movie on TV and loved it!I went to my local video store to try to rent it so I could see the whole movie but NOOOOO they didn't have it!I think I searched for about two weeks for this movie! Finally!!!!Found it.I watched it and couldn't stop!!Now,this movie was made in '85 and Iwas born in'84-but I related to this movie so much!! My absolute favorite part was when Gib's pal Lance calls from California and says-"Hey Buddy!Gettin' any ?I'm talkin'to ya cordless!!!!Oh my God!I went around for weeks saying that line and then die laughing!!!!!I am glad to read that other people love this movie too!!Go rent this movie!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Classic John Cusack!! Review: This is one of my all-time favorites, and definitely my favorite John Cusack movie. There are so many great lines in this movie! One of my favorite scenes is when Gib explains to Allison: "You know what you are, Allison? You're repressed." The scene that follows is hilarious, and finally ends with: "Driving with a load not properly tied down?" Do yourself a favor and see this movie. Between John Cusack, Anthony Edwards, and Gib's "ladies' man" roommate, this movie is an absolute scream.
Rating: Summary: dailly intake of riboflavin Review: This movie got to shape my teenage years and Anthony Edwards had hair! Just complete classic and don't think I didn't notice the reference to Cassiopia in the "Serendipity" movie. I still think that "Gibb, Gibb...come to California" is the best quote although there are numerous quotable quotes that I drive my family nuts with constantly!
Rating: Summary: I WANT MY DVD!!! Review: I love this movie! I own the VHS, but it is in horrible shape from so many viewings! It is hilarious! This movie is what put Cusack on the map (in my opinion). One of my favorite lines is naming the baby Elliot ("You can't name the kid Elliot! Elliot is a fat kid with glasses who eats paste!)And who hasn't tried to shot gun a beer (or a soda if your folks are around) after watching this movie? And everytime I go to a hotel, as I leave and I do the "search-the-room-for-anything-I-may-have-forgotten", I remember this movie. Gib hassled Alison about this, and they ended up with no money! And what about Alsion screaming "Twisted Sex" and flashing a car full of guys to prove she spontaneous, only to get pulled over by the cops? Or when she gets picked up by a hitchhiker and Gib has to come to her rescue ("don'tcha wanna give me a ride?" "Then what the he** did you pick me up for!?!") CLASSIC! This is an awesome movie! See it and you'll know what we're all talking about! And Rob Reiner, I want this movie on DVD!
Rating: Summary: Sure Romantic Review: It is a great deal of fun to see such a good romantic comedy. I remember the first time I saw this I thought it was the best road movie I had seen. It still is and the only other road movie I enjoy is "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and it isn't romantic, just funny. Couples especially will like this movie but even singles can't help laughing unless they have never dated. Although the music is from the 80s the songs were hits then and they still sound good. John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga work well together and it shows in their scenes. You will enjoy if you liked romantic comedies like "Say Anything", "Benny and Joon", or "Ever After".
