Summary: World Trade Center Memories
Review: Working Girl is a very good movie. I have viewed it several times. It is one of my favorite movies. Even if you find yourself not interested in the plot, there are four great scenes of our beloved World Trade Center. It will make you shed a few tears. One scene in particular is where Melanie Griffith and Alec Baldwin have an augrument outside of a club on Staten Island. After the augrument Alec walks away and Melanie obviously upset turns and looks longingly at the financial district of Manhattan featuring a beautiful nightime view of the magificent twin towers. It's a beautiful scene. It's worth it just to buy the tape for that scene.

Summary: Great 1988 Film with a Twist!
Review: Working Girl was definetly a great 1988 comedy including some great actors and actresses. The acting is good and the expression in the film was great as well. Including Carly Simon's "Let The River Run" song at the opening of the film, it was a film to remember for a lifetime! Here is a short summary of the plot:Tess McGill (Melaine Griffith) is a secretary working for Catherine Parker (Sigourney Weaver). After Catherine breaks her leg in a skiing accident, Tess takes over everything of hers including her office, home and more! She then meets Catherine's boyfriend Jack Trainer (Harrison Ford) in a bar, trying to talk business, and she wakes up in bed with him in the morning! She realizes he is in love with her and after, she falls in love with him!!! All in all, this was a great film. Rated R for profanity and some sexual scenes. A great comedy to ad to any movie collectors collection!!

Summary: Oddly Attracting, Somewhat oddly Deterring.
Review: 1988's "Working Girl" had everything to appeal to all different kinds of people, and many things (Including I think the Star), to give a blow to a viewer's love of the movie. Melanie Griffith has done wonderfully in films like "Milk Money", and even "Bonfire of the Vanities"...the infamous star-packed movie that ultimately didn't live up to it's potential. Griffith though was poorly chosen for this role, giving too-much air-headedness if you please, to a character who should've had more on the ball to get where she ended up in the movie. Obviously winning several awards for the role, more people thought differently, but I think that Griffith's lack of knowledge about everything makes the movie a little too fantasy-like. She plays secretary Tess McGill, who strives from the guidence from close friends, struggles from broken relationships and starts to make her way out from behind her desk when she meets and falls in love with successful banker Harrison Ford. The plot line is well thought up, and well played out by the powerhouse actors (Griffith, Ford, Alec Baldwin and Sigourney Weaver). Joan Cusack gives one of a string of her fabulous performances to come in the many years, earning Joan her first Oscar Nomination. A role that was unfairly lost to Geena Davis at the ceremony, leaving Joan still the most unappreciated true talent in the 8 years prior to the film. In my opinion, Melanie Griffith is rescued from dead-air by the charm and wit of Harrison Ford, and the pleasing and wonderful physical and emotional presence of Joan Cusack, playing Griffith's street-wise and comforting friend and collegue. I would've loved to see Joan with more air-time, Griffith with slightly less and maybe a more mature approach to her rise to the top that might have given this great movie even more potential. It's a great, sweet story of love and work though, well played out with a 95% great cast. It's definately worth a few looks, "Working Girl" deserves all the positive feedback it's gotten in 13 years...and Joan deserves her Oscar. My review, I hope not too opinionated.

Summary: Absolutely Delightful
Review: Wonderful starring role for Melanie Griffith. Harrison Ford is excellent as the male lead. Sigourney Weaver plays the sneaky boss, who steals secretary Melanie Griffith idea. Melanie gets back at her though. It is a very fun movie to watch over and over. David Duchovny has a bit part but he is rather hard to spot.

Review: My title isn't meant to be mocking - I like this kind of a story!This movie is very similar,in a way,to 'The Pretty Woman"(with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts) - which is also one of my favorites."The Working Girl" is different,though - there is much more of a plot!The suspense,the sudden twists,the humor... and the romance - all makes this a treat to watch and enjoy!

Summary: A Very Ironically Poignant Film
Review: This movie is for, "Anyone Who's Ever Won, Anyone Who's Ever Lost and For Anyone Who's still in there trying", This movie tells a story of a Secretary Named Tess(Melanie Griffith), who while working Secretarial jobs takes college classes to become an executive. her new boss(Sigourney Weaver) suddenly gets her leg broke, on a ski trip in which she thinks her boyfriend(you'll just have to watch!) is going to propose to her. While Tess is cleaning her house, as instructed, she find that her boss was trying to steal her idea. So Tess simply takes over her boss' office and sets out to make her idea work, with the help of an investment Banker(Harrison Ford)Dir. Mike Nichols does a wonderful job of showing how the human spirit can triumph over all.

Summary: nice movie!
Review: This movie reminded me of "Secret of My success (by Michel J Fox)". Their basic story is the same...capable and ambitious boy (girl) overcome a severe condition and gets a success in the business world. But, I prefer this movie to "Secret of My success" for 3 reason. First, Harrison Ford showed his excellent talent by acting a difficult role (Jack). Jack's character is complicated: Jack falls in love with another girl in spite of having a steady girl friend, but at the same, he is sincere and attractive person. In spite of this inconsistency, Ford's good performance gets rid off Jack's vice and makes a graceful comedy. Second, I put a high value of Sigourney Weaver because she played villain's role (Katharine) excellently. In this film, Katharine is clever, funny, sassy and sexy for Weaver's good job. Excellent villain's role is essential for a good movie. Third, story is good. For first 30minutes, this movie shows Tess's effort and misfortune carefully. I think without this careful preparation, it is difficult to understand Tess's adventure and this film become only comedy.

Review: Warm-hearted and funny story about an up and coming business woman (Melanne Griffth) who wants to succeed in business by really trying, the man she falls in love with on the way (Harrison Ford), and a greedy woman (Sigourney Weaver) Who likes to steal other people's ideas. Highly recomanded for anyone who likes "feel good" movies, and this is one of them.

Review: Take a struggling city gal and send her into an uptown juggle where who-you-know may be all most of "them" know. This movie rates on my top shelf, encouraging and empowering underdogs to win it all, privately as well as professionally. As with many of his co-actors, Harrison Ford was terrific with Mellanie Griffith and Signorney Weaver (a delightful bosy snob role). Treat yourself to a wonderful film.
