Rating: Summary: Ah, Lloyd Review: Silly, I know, but whenever I meet a man, I compare him to Lloyd. How close is he to that mix of sensitivity and charm and smarts to the original? Lloyd has become the standard with me and my friends: Is he a Lloyd? I DID find my Lloyd by the way. =) This movie is wonderful. No way can you dislike it. Everything from John Cusack to Lily Taylor is a terrific gem. Do not miss this movie!
Rating: Summary: The greatest teen movie ever made. Review: Say Anything is the most touching movie I've ever seen. For every guy who ever wanted to be with the perfect girl and could never have her, this is the movie. Say Anything is extremely funny without being biting, very dramatic without being sappy. There is no greater scene in movie history than when Lloyd holds up his boombox, trying to woo Diane back. Say Anything is what every John Hughes movie wants to be but fails, what every "Hope Floats" generic romantic comedy tries and can't do. It's a true masterpice.John Mahoney is one underrated actor. Him and John Cusack have an awesome rivalry in this movie, and they just have a great on-screen click. 8 Men Out is also awesome, as they both steal the show.
Rating: Summary: Finally a movie that i could relate to. Review: I am a 19yrd old boy. I can totally relate to this movie in the tosses in turns of a love life. Excellent movie.
Rating: Summary: An all-time Classic! Review: Not many movies can be as funny and as dramatic as this movie. Everytime I watch it (probably close to 20 now) I laugh my ass off! But I also think about the similarities to my high school years, and it really hits home. I quote lines from this movie to my friends all the time. "I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen!" One of my all time faves. This is the only chick flick that for guys is a must see.
Rating: Summary: IT IS A GREAT LOVE STORIE . Review: THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST LOVE STORIES OF THE 80`S TRUE LOVE!!!!!AND GREAT TUNES TO!!! IT WILL BRING YOU BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL . GREAT DATE MOVIE TO!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of my top ten! Review: I have a lot of favorite movies, but this one has to be in my top ten. The story is amazing, the "low life" gets the girl. But all the other little intricacies of this story make it a must see. I, as a practice, do not like chick flicks, but this movies goes far beyond the genre of "chick flicks" and makes you really think about "the prefect relationship!" I don't know a guy who does not love this film.
Rating: Summary: Just Amazing Review: This movie is so amazing, the only problem that I can find with it is that when you are finished watching it after the warm and fuzzy feeling has gone away you are lef tto think about how you have no Lloyd Dobler, oh well... some day he will come...
Rating: Summary: All men should be a Lloyd Dobbler. Review: This movie is the best.....Lloyd Dobbler...I'll marry you
Rating: Summary: Simply the best Review: The best romantic comedy ever, though I hate even using that phrase here -- and also the best teen movie. Everything Sleepless in Seattle wasn't (like contrived). This movie has some of the classic lines in movie history, and it treats teens with respect and as real people. I know a lot of females love the movie because John Cusack is "oh, so romantic" - but guys - even ones who hate "chick movies" - should love this. That's because, for once, the guy isn't portrayed as a jerk at any point, but at the same time you cringe as he falls for the girl and doesn't see the inevitable hurt coming. And, even though the female lead causes the hurt, you can certainly understand her dilemma too. The characters are all multi-layered, including all of the supporting characters. I especially love the scenes with Lili Taylor and Bebe Neuwirth, and the high school keg party (with the obligatory older guy - see Matt McConaghy in Dazed and Confused) is on the mark. Finally, can anyone possibly have played this role better than John Cusack. The nervous stammering, his above-the-fray attitude. I've watched this movie with dates -- and I've watched it with a group of guys, while we threw shoes at the screen after particularly memorable lines, such as "I want to get hurt." What a film.
Rating: Summary: Say Anything is a perfect example of a not-so-perfect match! Review: The movie Say Anything has such appeal for me and for anyone who sees it partially because of the lovable character John Cusack plays and also because of the romantic things he does. Every girl I know watches this and says, "I want a man to love me this much.". Lloyd has such admiration for Ione's character, such love. He gets nervous, he shivers with happiness.. it is how all women wish guys would start acting, just once in a while!
