Summary: Adam Sandler's smartest movie? Yes, and by far his best!
Review: This was one of Adam's breakthrough films before pointless blockbusters like "Waterboy" and "Big Daddy". While those films have a few funny moments and are OK, this one is very cleaver and showcases Sandler as a human being rather than just some dumb hick or just some loud bastard.

"The Wedding Singer" is about Robbie Hart, an average guy, that lives a simple suburban life with a hot fiancée and a cool gig in the mid eighties. Life is great until his lady dumps him. He's crushed and his career as a weeding singer goes down the toilet as he sinks into a depression that includes listening to The Cure. Sounds like a great depression. Anyway, a young girl named Julie (Drew Barrymore) helps him to get his life back together. The only problem is that she is engaged to a smug yuppie loser. So what's going to happen. Well, like in most eighties comedies, the hero will try to win over the girl even if it takes the help of Billy Idol!

Not the most original story in the world, and the chemistry is only OK between Drew and Adam, but its really all the eighties jokes that make this film so very funny. People have niches and dress in styles. People dress up like "characters" like Madonna, Don Johnson, Boy George and even the guy from Flock of Seagulls. The combination of an awesome soundtrack and '80s clichés, not to mention great acting (Steve Buschemi's cameo steals the show) make the film a winner. Adam can really act like a normal romantic and this movie proves it. Too bad so many people prefer him as a moron. Comedy lovers and Sandler fanatics unite and buy this film.

Summary: Funny, charming film set in the Big 80's
Review: Adam Sandler is at his most likable as Robbie Hart, a wedding singer whose fiance left him at the altar. He meets Julia (Drew Barrymore) and must persuade her that he's the right one for her, and away from her scummy fiance. It's a simple plot and a simple movie, but it works perfectly. Both Sandler and Barrymore are charming and funny, the supporting cast is terrific, especially Christine Taylor and an unbilled Steve Buscemi, and the 80's clothes, music, and cultural references are very funny.

Summary: One of my favriote movies of all time
Review: The Wedding singer is a funny romatic comedy staring my absoulte favroite actors. Adam Sandler once again delivers humorous one liners and shows great acting. And Drew Berrymore makes her role very convinceing. It's an old love tale with a new twist. We have Robbie a wanna-be-rock star that settled with being a wedding singer to pay the bills and it turns into a full-time carrer. His life takes an unespected pitfall when his fiancee leaves him at the alter. And then we have Julia, the new girl who's almost shy but posesses shineing personality. Unfortuanatly she falls for a total cheating jerk-off who's she's engaged to. The two fall for eachother while planning Julia's wedding. Why will happen now?

Summary: Buscemi Steals The Show With Drunk Cameo:Good Natured
Review: Like in all Adam Sandler movies the plot of "The Wedding Singer is very simple. The year is 1985. The idea is that Adam plays the part of a wanna-be rock star that has to resort to playing at weddings to make ends meet. His girl drops him like a bad habit and the new girl that he is falling for is set to marry a Don Johnson look-alike and act-alike complete with a matching Dalorian, the car from "Back to the Future".(Oh, no! ) (Yet again, Sandler plays a complete loser) Sandler's antics are kept more in check in this movie than others you might have seen him in.(He's less offensive) The movie, from start to finish, is an incredibly cheesy(not terrible) look at the 80's through the trendy musical sounds and the awful fashion. For anyone who watched Music Television(Or any television) back then it would be easy to spot the various references to the time. If you didn't watch MTV though, then or now, you would probably be best to avoid this one. You will miss out on a lot of the fun. "The Wedding Singer" is a pretty good comedy.(It has laughs) It's worth a look if you meet the requirements to get the jokes. Give it a try, it couldn't hurt. Watch out for the cameo by Steve Buscemi. That moment is a joy to watch.(It's Hilarious) A drunkard like that wouldn't be my first choice or second choice for best man.(Though family always complicates matters)

Summary: Absolutely delightful
Review: Adam Sandler has never been sweeter than in the role of slightly schizoid, romantically frustrated wedding singer Robbie, and in the role of Julia, Drew Barrymore has never been sweeter or more adorable, except perhaps, when she played Gertie in ET. This entertaining movie focuses on Robbie Hart, an ex rock singer who now plays mainly at weddings, much to the disgust of his shallow fiance Linda. When Linda literally dumps him at the altar, he is shattered - until he meets the appealing waitress Julia, who is engaged to the sexist, "Miami Vice" loving philanderer Glenn Ghoulia, a truly appalling individual and definitely not someone a mother would want her daughter to fall in love with. Set against the backdrop of the mid 1980's, this movie also shows viewers that the 1960's and 1970's weren't the only decades in history which posessed some weird trends and fads. The on screen chemistry between Sandler and Barrymore is given an added boost by the hilarious supporting cast, especially Christine Taylor, who plays a Madonna wannabe to perfection (the awful fashion sense and tartishness are completely intact), Steve Buscemi as a scene stealing drunk, and Alexis Arquette as a Boy George twin whose one song repertoire completely confounds the guests at two weddings and one bar mitzbah (what song is it, you ask. Youll have to watch the movie and find out!) I cannot recommend this movie enough, and I am not surprised at all that it was such a massive box office hit!

Summary: This is a good movie!
Review: I don't really like romance movies but this one i did like. There were some funny parts but all in all I thought the movie was good.

Summary: Sandler nails the romantic comedy.
Review: Most people wouldn't imagine that Adam Sandler could make a good romantic comedy. Granted, this movie has a lot more straight up comedy than most in this genre, but that's what he's good at. The budding romance between him and Drew Barrymore's character was just great to watch.

Her despicable fiancee, Glenn Gulia (reminiscent of the villainy of Shooter McGavin in HAPPY GILMORE and Eric Gordon in BILLY MADISON), was played brilliantly by Matthew Glave. Sandler always has the best "villains" in his movies.

The guest appearance by Billy Idol was great and John Lovitz' bit part was hilarious. If you're looking for a romantic movie that'll make you laugh, this is the one. Sandler and Barrymore make a great onscreen couple.

Summary: Adam's Best
Review: This was the third Adam movie I've seen. I've seen four. It's not the funniest(Happy Gilmore), but it sure is the best. It's about a singer at weddings who meets a waitress. He is supposed to get married but his girlfriend never shows up. Over the course of the movie Adam falls in love with the waitress(Drew Barrymore), who also has a fiance, who I think is a real jerk. In the end of the movie...

At the end of the movie there is a guest appearence by 80s rock star Billy Idol. His music video for White Wedding is in the movie at the beggining, too. That fits in well because the movie took place in the 80s. Even my grandmother loved this movie! It's a really great movie and I suggest you buy it. NOW!

Summary: An all-time fave
Review: One of the few movies that star a leading man and lady that actually have some spectacular chemistry between them! I swear the Adster and Drew had a crush on each other during the filming, because the smiles are so big, I cant imagine them disappearing once the cameras stopped rolling! Maybe theyre just too good. I had already seen Adam Sandler in some of his more boyish films, so it was great to see his romantic side! (without taking that hilarious temper away from him)

Being a big fan of the 80's I loved all the music and the fact that it was set in that era (hey, I saw a period piece!) but everyone in it was so exuberant and lively that it wouldnt have mattered either way! Maybe they were that happy cos they got to be 80's people - I dont know.

Drew Barrymore was also adorable and you just wanted to bang their heads together - their attraction to each other was like a first love, also filled with great respect and friendship.

But hey, I could go on about it all forever.

I like a lot of the crazy twisted humour - makes you smile. Sometimes the plot wanders a little bit, but Im only saying that because its true!

Just the thing to put a big smile on your face, really! And who could resist Robbie Hart and his quirky romantic songs? Aaahh...
