Summary: CALIFORNIAN GRAFFITI
Review: The plot of director Doug Liman's SWINGERS is one of the thinnest I've seen in months : Jon "Mike" Favreau cannot forget his girlfriend of six years so his pals, lead by Vince "Trent" Vaughn, take him for a wild ride inside L.A. bars in order to make him enjoy life again. And that's all.

So SWINGERS is more a collection of atmospheres than a study about the life of out-of-work actors in Hollywood. One understands soon that Hollywood is the Kingdom of Dreams, the dream being an attitude, a lie or appearances. Mike is going to feel better only once he leaves his mask to be himself. Well, it's not the most original idea of the century but, at least, it's an idea.

The big reproach deserved by SWINGERS is that all the characters depicted are empty, shallow and superficial. There isn't any life at all in a Trent or a Sue. They are walking into life with a girl in one arm and a cocktail in the other. And worst of all : nor the screenwriter, nor the director express a single opinion about this situation ; it is always more difficult to judge oneself or one's own actions.*

A touristic DVD.

* the movie relates the screenwriter's own experiences.

Summary: The best comedy ever!
Review: When I bought my dvd player(s) this was the first dvd I bought. I can't imagine not seeing this movie. All males will be familiar with at least one of the characters, and females will gain a new perspective on men. Full of sarcastic humor, plus shots at more well known movies (i.e. Resevoir Dogs, Goodfellas) I couldn't stop laughing. It does have it's flaws, but there aren't enough to make me not love it to death!

Summary: It`s so money baby!
Review: As a huge fan of this movie, i reccomend it to anyone who is thinking about purchasing it. It`s got lots of beautiful babies, and i sound like an idiot, but who cares, cause i`m a winner.

Summary: Gotta Love It
Review: If you enjoy the comedies, you'll love this one. There is not enough to say about this flick. It's just plain fantastic. If you enjoy the classic comedies from the 80's (Breakfeast Club, Vacation, Caddyshack, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science), you'll love this. It's between this & chasing Amy for best comedy of the 90's.

Summary: Darn Answering Machines
Review: Independent film madness sweeps the nation! In an age where indies are coming to the screen(and video) faster than a Hollywood minute, this film stands alone. A true masterpiece from start to finish. With hilarious takes on our own vulnerabilities when in the pits of depression. Complete with a solid cast(Heather Graham, Favreau and Vaughn)you can't help but love these characters. A great addition to any DVD collection.

Summary: filth
Review: The hate I feel when confronted by films such as this scares me.

A hollow movie if there ever was one, that in intention serves to make us laugh but failed by making me sick. There is hardly a character to like in this to-hip-for-its-own-good piece of filth, but you can't fault them for trying. The hero is a sad little boy who misses his girlfriend and cries over how lonely he is in his nice clothes with his pretty friends and fast cars. Poor guy. He is his own worst enemy, as is the film. The "homages" to other films sreve as the best examples of how the movie confuses the joke to the point where it becomes the joke. This movie is lousy. Period.

Summary: - very funny stuff -
Review: Well, I have to say that Vince Vaughn steals the spotlight, and keeps it in every scene because, of course he's MONEY baby, M O N E Y! It IS like Diner in the way of its arc, pace and lounging rhythm. There's nothing to special or admirable about any of these guys, but I mean their just SO MONEY they don't even know it. Every guy has had friends like these and I connect with the dating vibe though because it is SO purely nineties. Swing music and fashion was so prevalent in that last era, and infuses every iota of Swingers, by nature of that odd togetherness mix. Its ON baby, watch me, I'm gonna make Gretsky's head bleed! - (excellent video hockey adolescence).

Summary: Totally Money! Find Some Honey Babies And Watch It!
Review: This film is totally money. Big money. I rented it with my beautiful baby friend and we laughed our butts off. My favorite scene has got to be the "Reservoir Dogs" slow walk. That is freakin' hysterical! I also love the video game hockey scene. That scene is hilarious because it sounds like a bunch of guys actually sitting around playing a video game! Also love the ending where Trent gives his plate of food to a complete stranger for no reason other than "You know what? I can't eat this. I couldn't touch it." I could go on for hours on how money this flick is! It gives such a REAL perspective on how guys look at dating with girls. I wanted to BE one of these guys. They look like they're havin' a blast! This movie is beautiful, baby! It's money and you know what else? You're the big winner tonight if you buy this. You're the big winner. MONEY!

Summary: I'd be lying if I said this movie wasn't money.
Review: Of course, like most of the rest, I am a male, and I can therefore relate, but objectively now this movie is hilarious. Vince Vaughn does a great job at playing the "tall but young looking" Trent. Even though Vaugh's character stands out, there are so many subtle idiosyncracies in the rest of the characters that just make for a great movie.

Summary: My Life - Incredible
Review: I wonder if I should be embarrassed that this is my life, but I can't escape that this entire movie is my life. I wish I was a cool as Trent, thank God I'm not as bad as Mikey. If you haven't seen this movie, do it now. One of the best of the 90s.
