Summary: The critics should really stop being so picky...
Review: Kevin Smith is one of the best comedy writers around these days, and why the critics hated this movie so much is beyond me. Dialogue makes Smith's movies what they are, and in this one Jason Lee's Brody steals the show. Jay and Silent Bob get more screen time in this movie than in Clerks, and I'm glad. They add a certain comic-book flair that you wouldn't really expect in a simple mall movie. Jeremy London plays the straight character that acts as juxtapostion to Brody's almost twisted irreverence. I will admit, as far as actual quality goes, this movie pales in comparrison to Clerks and Chasing Amy, but if you're looking for pure entertainment and loud laughs, this is the movie you wana get.

And yes, there is a plot, but it doesn't really matter because the diologue is so damned funny!

Summary: The Worst from Smith but still funny
Review: Mallrats is a likable comedy. It's the kind ofmovie John Hughes made on 80's and I like that films (and Kevin obvious liked it too), have a great cameo by stan lee and a solid lead performance by Jason Lee, but when i watched it thought something is missing. The thing that made Chasing Amy and Clerks special films, the problem is that the carachters here isn't as likable as Dante or Holden or Banky or Randall. We laught with it but we really didn't care much for them.

Summary: Inconsistent, but it's still Kevin Smith!
Review: This movie is not as consistently funny as Smith's other three films. The script seems rushed and some moments lack his usual sense of humor. However, it still offers some genuinely hilarious moments and is well worth the 90 minutes.

Summary: Best Movie ever by the best dirctor ever
Review: I forst saw this movie in the theater and loved it. then iheard about Clerks rented that and loved it. When chasing Amy came out i saw it in the theaters and loved it. the NJT (New Jersey Trilogy) is the greatest group of movies ever. my favorite being Mallrats(but ill have to wait to see Dogma). My second favorite mover ever is Chasing Amy. My third is clerks. the Movie is just so funny and the way it is set up is just great. what about the whole trilogy i like the most is that they all go together with things like names and people dying in bathrooms and pools. I really enjoy Kevin Smith's comics. I also heard that Kevin Smith is making a new Superman Movie.

Summary: One of my favorite movie
Review: It has my girl Shannen Doherty. It was so funny. Anyone who loves this movie should see "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy"

Summary: Mallrats is excellent
Review: Many people don't rate mallrats as well as the other two films of Kevin Smith's New Jersey trilogy. I think it's the best, because it doesn't deliberately encumber itself with pseudo-serious and contrived sub-plots (hetero boy falls in love with homo girl). Mallrats has the same strengths as the best Seinfeld episodes, which Time Magazine says might be the best television series ever. Mallrats is the most entertaining since it's also the most over the top of the three films, with the same sort of zany humor as the silent era classics. Mallrats doesn't try to be anything. Clerks and Chasing Amy are excellent films, but they try to be something besides entertaining.

Summary: View Askew for ever
Review: Kevin Smith, keep up the good work. This movie, indeed the entire trilogy, rates up there with the best, if not topping the lot of them. Lenard Maltin, or however the heck you spell your name, bite me.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: this movie should'nt have been so maligned
Review: this movie is truly deserving of praise and should'nt have been apoiligized for by mr smith or as panned as it was having seen the "jersey trilogy" i cannot wait till nov 12 to see "dogma"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I love the smell of Kevin Smith in the morning.
Review: Anybody coming away from watching this film not wanting to be Jason Lee's Brodie Bruce must need their head looking at. A modern day twentysomthing with Indiana Jones cool, Brodie's day at the mall is a must see for anyone who ever bought a comic book after their eighteenth birthday. Foul mouthed yet innocent Mallrats is both genuinely funny and genuinely charming. Nooch.

Rating: 5 stars
