Summary: Sunray Silos & Sheilas
Review: My favourite movie. Drive into the hypnotic outback town of Sunray and adjust your attitude accordingly. Two small-minded sisters and two over-sized silos hardly sound like the basis for a plot. However, introduce a jaded sleazo DJ in exile from Brisbane, throw in a singing, nudist Chinese restauranteur, smother with a liberal coating of agendas(both obvious and hidden)and you have a very dark comedy.Comedy because it makes you laugh and dark because it makes you think. Certainly, the search for the ideal partner will never seem the same again.Neither will beef and black bean sauce. This film probably holds tremendous appeal for a potentially limited audience and as such may never achieve the acclaim it truly deserves.

Summary: I can't believe I watched this whole thing!
Review: This has to be the oddest movie I've ever seen! Not that that's bad, if that's what you're looking for, but from the picture on the front I'd expected some light, happy romantic comedy. Miranda Otto is one of my favorite actresses, but this was just odd. For one thing, the guy who plays the male lead has to be the ugliest man ever to star in a movie, so right off the bat I couldn't figure out why on earth either of these women would be interested in him. Not that every movie should be entirely populated by attractive people, but this man is so horrid-looking that if he moved in next door to me, I'd make every effort to avoid him, not try to seduce him.

If you're looking for a happy romantic comedy, I'd recommend Danny Deckchair instead of this movie, but if you're a fan of offbeat movies like this, go ahead and watch it.

Summary: Love Serenade
Review: This is the type of movie that seems to come out of left field to plaster a smile on your face. There are some really HUGE laughs along the way in this story of a disc jockey who moves to a small town and next to two sisters. Let the insanity begin.

Summary: Intriguing misfits cross paths while searching for love.
Review: This was a gem of movie if you are interested in people and what they have to say. The out-of-the-ordinary characters and their wonderful words and thoughts are the whole movie. You want to hang on each line spoken. Each character is an intriguing misfit who hasn't been able to assimilate well into society, which is not necessarily a bad sign. The two sisters and the disc jockey find themselves temporary neighbors. The disc jockey, who simply is trying to get away from it all, has somewhat of an impact on each of the sister's lives. But the final word is theirs.

This movie is gentle. The insight into the Australian culture, fused with bits taken from the USA, are delightful.
