Summary: Something new for Jet Li.
Review: This is a new style of film for Jet Li. True there is some of the greatest action sceens ever shot in this film but mosst of the film is based on making fun of the Hong Kong film bissness. While Jet's charater Kit Li does have some great fights in the movie the best fight is the fight near the end of the movie involving Frankie Loan(I think that's how you spell it who's played be Jackie Cheung), who hires Kit as a bodyguard, and Kong (I don't know who plays him). Frankie is a parody of Bruce Lee(The greatest martial artist ever) and Jackie Chan (I don't really see the Jackie Chan parody but I can uderstand how some people will.) The final fight sceen also reminds me of a Bruce Lee style fight (Jackie even wears a yellow and black jumpsuit like the one Lee wears in his final movie "The Game Of Death"). This is a masterwork of Hong Kong comedy and action. If you are not a fan of both of these I wold be wary of buying this moive.

Review: This is one of Jet Li's funniest flicks, if his only. Some pretty good action scenes in it, but i laughed more than anything. Hey on a boring night, pop this in, and you'll be entertained.

Summary: The Worst Martial Arts Movie Ever Made
Review: This is the worst Hong Kong movie I've ever seen. For some reason it's been released (rereleased?) as Meltdown and I found it at Blockbuster. I like Jet Li (I love Fist of Legend, one of the BEST martial arts movies, unlike this one) but this movie was terrible. First, Jet Li does not actually fight anyone. Like some of his other movies, he does a lot of shooting but never actually goes hand to hand. This is left to Jacky Cheung, who is uninteresting to watch and spends all his fighting time (that is, when he's not being beaten up or running away) making fun of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, something that is not only completely undeserved, but totally unforgivable since both of them are better actors and martial artists than he is. The whole "skyscraper" part of the plot completely rips off Die Hard, another movie that is High Risk/Meltdown's superior and also completely undeserving of ridicule.In conclusion, this movie is absolutely terrible. If you like Jet Li, buy Fist of Legend and go home happy, and leave this worthless excuse for a movie on the shelves.

Summary: Not to be taken seriously!
Review: This movie is an intentional parody of Die Hard. The Chinese title is a parody of Die Hard's Chinese title. Throw in a character who combines Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, you've got a HK style parody which isn't going to look like anything from the Naked Gun creators! Which means you get moments of seriousness intermingled with slapstick. This isn't your movie if you're looking for Martial Arts, but it's good if you're looking for Jet Li.

Summary: What a hoot!
Review: This movie is far funnier and less po-faced than the other reviewer gives credit. Who cares if Jet Li doesnt fight a lot, infact that isnt true either he does fight, as he is the stand-in for the actor lampooning Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan even went so far as to try to have the distribution of the movie curtailed because it suggested it was lampooning him. Nor can Jet Li be blamed for this, as the director was the one the accusation was pointed at. It is action packed, and Jet Li's character is very serious. He goes into the action stunt career because of the death of his wife and child in a terrorist attack, the same terrorist is centered around the main plot of the rest of the story, and this is how Jet Li enacts his revenge! There are some excellent action parts, look out for the helicopter! And look out for the obsessed leather clad martial artist who dispises frankie and wants to fight him! Its very funny and very enjoyable, infact its one of the best movies Jet Li has made, and it has the trademark Hong Kong humour. Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Summary: In Jokes aplenty
Review: This movie is great fun, especially if you're into HK movies at all. From the Jackie Chan manager look-alike to the jabs at John Woo (everytime Jet Li picks up a gun it has no ammo, unlike Woo's films in which everyone seems to have unlimited ammo), this is a rip roaring film. I didn't give it a higher rating because the martial arts I was expecting from Jet were nonexistent. Oh, and watch out for that helicopter...you know the one crashing through the high rise. Good stuff.

Summary: High Risk, indeed
Review: This movie is reputed to be a personal attack against Jackie Chan. Anyone who knows enough about Jackie and his manager, Willie Chan (no relation), can see why this movie has that reputation. I like both Jackie Chan and Jet Li. I bought this movie to see Jet's performance. He was the only good thing in the movie. I cringed whenever Jacky Cheung appeared because his character was too buffoonish. The only enjoyable parts of the movie had Jet. His story-thread was good. The story-thread involving Jacky Cheung was boring and too clownish for me to appreciate. It is as if the director wanted to have two movies in one, but they are too dissimilar to blend together. I don't care that it was designed to make fun of Jackie Chan. I care that it was too silly to accept as 'fun.' Take out the scenes with Jacky and it would be a descent Jet Li movie.

Summary: This movie got a bit confused somewhere down the line.
Review: This movie opens with a school bus full of children being blown up by terrorists (establishing the revenge sub-plot), and then suddenly goes into comedy where Jet Li is a clumsy action star's stunt double, and then goes into a semi-serious, violent Die Hard clone. If it had been funny or serious all the way through it would have been better, but the drama-comedy-drama-action-comedy is a bit weak. At least you cheer when the bad guys get it anyway.

Summary: Goofy, but hilarious and entertaining
Review: This one grew on me. At first I was turned off by the goofiness, but there are definitely some hair-raising scenes where I screamed aloud! Not too many fight scenes with Jet, but he's still cool. This movie is more about guns and explosions-- still better than the typical American action flick--take note, someone! I loved the surprise ending.

Review: This was a very good rip-off of Die Hard, With Jet Li playing Bruce Willis's part. Very good stunts, and plenty of action. The DVD version would have been more enjoyable dubbed in English. white subtitles and white backgrounds just don't mix(Impossible to read).
