Review: If you are a child of the 60's, 70's or 80's this movie will have you rolling! I predict that it will be a classic. A classic right up there with I'm Going to Get You Sucka! The jokes come so fast you will miss some because you are laughing too hard and won't hear the next lines. This movie will chase the blues away.

Review: Undercover Brother played by Eddie Griffin is a brotha who at first appears to be a reject from the '70s. With an outdated Afro, platform shoes, and an orange soda, you want to tell him to get with the program.However, you later realize that Undercover Brother is for real and he is dedicated to uplifting the African American race.Undercover Brother is hired by a secret African American organization that wants to dismantle the Man's organization whose mission is the destroy the soul of the African American race by the distribution of fried chicken. The Man's organization has drugged a Colin Powell like general played by Billie Dee Williams who was all set to run for the office of President. Instead, the General opens up a chain of fried chicken stores. The goal is rescue the General and save the African American race. The Chief of the secret African American organization is a serious dude but somewhat twisted. His employees play characters that poke fun at African American and white stereotypes. Conspriracy Brother is convinced that everything is a plot by the White Man. Smart Brother has the mind of a genius that everyone would envy and a body that no one would want. Sistah Girl is the beautiful sistah who changes her looks every five minutes. There's the white affirmative action employee who appears that he was hired for a quota, but really wasn't. The Man's messager is a white dude who believes in the Man. However, he can't shake off the influence of African American culture. He has rhythm and he can rap at a moment's notice. She-Devil is a beautiful white woman who is the Black man's kryponite. Her goal is to destroy Undercover Brother with her charm and beauty. Does she succeed? Hmm...that's for you to find out. With a hilarious message, it will keep you laughing. While at the time, it subtley examines the silliness of African American and white stereotypes. Check it out.

Summary: Best "Blaxploitation" Movie Since "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka"
Review: As a big fan of the "Blaxploitation" genre of film (Shaft, Sweet Sweetback's Badaaasss Song, Cleopatra Jones, Dolemite, Superfly, et al), I was somewhat concerned when I first saw the previews for Undercover Brother. I thought that maybe it would be a somewhat weak and watered-down film that wouldn't really do the genre "justice" (if you can consider a genre that portrays African Americans in a stereotypical manner--albeit in a celebratory and heroic mode--to be deserving of justice). In other words, I was afraid that this would be a "whitewashed" Blaxploitation film, if you take my meaning. However, my fears were assuaged once I actually saw the film. While UB certainly does portray various stereotypes of African Americans--as well as Anglo Americans, for that matter--it does so in a manner that I feel is consistent with the true spirit of the "Blaxploitation" genre. In other words, Undercover Brother (Eddie Griffin) plays the role of the stereotypical 70's soul daddy/funkateer/love machine/badass who, while perhaps being a comical-looking character, is also a true Hero who inspires and promotes a strong sense of right and wrong, justice, and a dedication to social equality for African Americans (and for all people, really). Undercover Brother is concerned about the injustice and oppression that African Americans face and actively engages in a struggle for their betterment, as well as the betterment of all people--of any color--who suffer as a consqeunce of the "powers that be". In this case, the "powers that be" (hilariously) is an Anglo American individual known simply as "The Man". The Man leads an evil organization that is deterimined to marginalize African Americans and to diminish their contributions to American society, perceiving (accurately) that many Anglo Americans feel a strong attraction to what is offered by African American popular culture, and that Anglo American culture is thereby being pervasively influenced by African Americans. This is completely unacceptable to The Man, and for that reason African American contributions and civil rights must be 'rolled back' through the machinations of his organization, so as to prevent any further influence on Anglo American culture by African Americans. Throughout the film, stereotypes are juggled and toyed with constantly--enough to keep any student of American popular culture entertained from start to finish. The wordplay is excellent, all of the actors deliver great performances, and by the end of the film there's a true feeling that, whatever our differences, the possibility exists that we truly all can "just get along", and more importantly, respect one another--even if we're as "vanilla white" as Lance, the Anglo American intern, or "Too funky for myself" as Undercover Brother. A great film, and to me, a great message. Much, much more than a "Black Austin Powers", and far more relevant.

Summary: One of the funniest movies of 2002.
Review: Undercover Brother is Eddie Griffen's best work by far, and close to being Chris Kattan's best. If you aren't offended by racial remarks (it's nothing TOO extreme, just laughable jokes), then you should see this movie. The actor I was most focused was Chris Kattan. It was so funny to see him as a bad guy! And Denise Richards was the perfect pick for the hot girl. The bath scene was hilarious. See it. I already did twice.

Summary: Funniest Movie I Have Seen in Years
Review: Undercover Brother took me back to junior high in Los Angeles in the late 60's. Sure it was full of racial slurs, but what a chance to laugh at yourself and at our (black and white) culture.
The acting was magnificent, these characters were so real, everyone in the theater was laughing outloud from start to finish. What a flashback !!!!!!!

Review: this is the worst movie to come out so far this year. It tried to be as funny as Austin Powers, but it isn't. the plot is shallow (some would say non-existent), and the humor is based on cliches that have been played ad nauseum. If you really want to watch this movie, wait until it comes out on disc or tape or whatever.

Review: This movie is like a really stupid and cheap version of Austin Powers, but there is one thing that seperates this movie from Austin Powers, and that is comedic value. This movie contains tons of bathroom jokes and racial stereotypes. Undercover Brother is a movie that will probably loose a lot of money at the theaters, since no one over the age of thirteen will find it entertaining.

Review: If one does not like that movie, then he/she should check a Doc because stress is over one's head. I watch the movie while I was on vacation in the Beautiful Island of Guam. I could barely hear the movie because people were laughing so hard. I give it all the thumbs up!! CasH
