Rating: Summary: the one, the only Review: Probably the greatest musical of all time has made its way unto DVD. This expanded version is excellent, though it was dissappointing to learn that a lot of extra material was destroyed by Universal, this version is first rate. The making of documentary is extremly informative. A must have for the true DVD collector!
Rating: Summary: Aykroyd Shines Brightly! Review: I usta love the sequal but soon learned it was nothing but clique of a movie. After watching the "origional" Blues Brothers, I grew to love it. I believe this will be the 1rst rared-R movie I could watch by myself. But I loved Dan Aykroyd in this movie(whom I've NEVER seen in any other movie before)! Although Belushi's name was first on the cover I much thought Elwood had the lead to Jake. I LOVE DAN AKYROYD!
Rating: Summary: Possibly the greatest film ever made! on the greatest format Review: Wow! What a fantastic DVD! We have been waiting for a digital version of this fantastic film for 19 years. The DVD is fantastically transferred bringing new image and sound vibrance to this cult classic. The Behind the Scenes bonuses are very informative. Buy it and crank it up loud!
Rating: Summary: The Blues Brothers Review: I found this movie to be one of the great movies in the 80's. It has dynamic music and superb actors. The movie was able to get many first rate performers to act in the movie like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and James Brown which only helped the movie's performance. I found the plot to be amusing and fun to watch play out. I recommend the movie to any on who loves music or just a good time.
Rating: Summary: A cult film! Review: What a cool film. It's a comedy musical with plenty of action. It's considered a cult classic and after you see this epic comedy, you'll know why...

Rating: Summary: Buy it Live it Love it Review: It is the Blues Brothers. And it ain't that waste of film BB2000. It is the real McCoy. I don't think it needs any further review.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste another minute ~ buy the DVD now! Review: If you love the video and are wondering whether to get the DVD or not ... wonder no longer! The bonus material contained on the DVD is fabulous ~ the "making of" doco is really interesting and contains interviews with a myriad of cast members along with some behind the scenes footage. Personally, I found the production photographs section a little tedious and I doubt I'll be visiting there too often. The expanded version of the film itself, however, will keep you on your toes ~ especially if you like to recite the film verbatum ... new bits crop up all the time. Oh, and if you're watching it with friends for the first time, don't sing too loudly to your favourite songs, an unexpected extra verse could be in there just to make you fluff your lines.
Rating: Summary: I love this new DVD Format Review: As if I could love this movie any more, the film truly utilizes the new DVD format by giving more than just the garbage of extra trailers and music clips that many VHS to DVD conversions offer. There is a wealth of information on the movie on the cast, an explanation of scenes that were in the director's cut and why they didn't make it to the final movie (plus the showing of these scenes), and even a Making Of The Blues Brothers video. All in all, this is a GREAT buy. NOTE: THIS DVD IN WIDESCREEN FORMAT SOUND QUALITY: A- VIDEO QUALITY: B+
Rating: Summary: Whaddya Know? No Customer Reviews Lower Than 4 Stars! Review: Obviously Amazon.com customers know what they like. Not a single one of the customer reviews of this picture is below 4 stars...and even an idiot like Leonard Maltin gave it a decent review! What can I say about this movie that hasn't already been said? Jake and Elwood, played by Belushi and Ackroyd respectively, have been recently released from prison and are on a mission from GOD! They're organizing a benefit to raise money to pay the taxes on the orphanage where they were brought up. We encounter bravura performances from the best blues talents in the business along the way, along with some great comedy! The performance of the "The Good Old Blues Brothers Boys Band" at Bob's Country Bunker is hilarious and alone justifies the purchase of this picture. EVERYBODY needs SOMEBODY...and they also need this movie in their collection. One piece of advice...stay away from the sequel to this movie. "Blues Brothers 2000" is god awful!
