Rating: Summary: a GREAT movie Review: I thought going into the theater last night, "well, the first one was pretty good, the second one was worse" but an hour and a half later, i was thinking, "this one is the best!" this movie is absolutley hilarious with the writing of David Zucker. This movie makes fun of several other movies, including "The Ring," "Signs," and more. This is a fabulous movie for teenagers.
Rating: Summary: Funny, but could have been better. Review: First off I just want to say that Scary Movie 3 is not a horrible movie, I thought there were several great laughs in the movie, but there are lots of parts in the movie that could have been better. There are a few things that might have contributed to the problems with the movie:1. The Wayans Brothers didn't have anything to do with this sequel. 2. The PG-13 rating versus the previous R ratings. I dont think that a movie has to be R rated to be good but, this movie's problem was that they were trying to make the same kind of gross out jokes and sexual jokes, while trying to maintain a PG-13 rating to make the movie more accessible to teenagers.3. They had good potential some funny movie references but they didn't seem to know what to do with it. 4. It seems like the film makers decided to try and fit as many celebrities in the movie as possible, and then figure out how they would fit in the "story" later. Leslie Nielson and Ja Rule were paired together and had absolutely nothing to contribute to this movie.5. There is one scene that is probably the most unfunny scene in the movie for there reason that it is just creepy and gross. In my opinion the joke is in bad taste and should have been left on the cutting room floor. Im not going to pick on the plot of the movie, because there isn't one but thats not the point of this type of movie. We don't go to these movies for the plot. Its just meant to be fun and silly. In conclusion, I just want to say that this movie is not as good as the first two but, there are many parts in the movie that will probably make you laugh but don't expect to keep laughing throughout the entire movie. If you are usually a fan of these types of movies I say go see it, otherwise wait for video.
Rating: Summary: This movie was a waste Review: I went and saw this movie earlier in the day. Some parts of the movie were funny, but the rest was a waste of time. PLEASE don't spend your money on such a BAD movie.
Rating: Summary: Much funnier than the first 2!!!!! Review: I just have to say that this third installment is much more funnier that the first two by far!!! I laughed so hard that i couldnt breathe!!! especially in the beginning (spoilers ahead) where they are spoofing The Ring and Jenny McCarthy is trying to turn off the tv and she goes "the remotes backwards, what do i do???" then pam anderson goes "I DONT KNOW!!!!!" i laughed so hard at that part that i was practically crying!!! and i have to say, it was very well worth the 7 dollars admission and i will be first in line to buy this histerical film on dvd!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Falls Short Review: Scary Movie 3 is one of those movies that after watching you feel like something was missing from the movie. Like it didnt fufill what you had expected and therefore falls short of your expectations. The movie isn't really bad, but it's not a movie I want to see again or a movie I can't wait to see again. Scary Movie 3 is about Anna Faris (starring role in Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2) who is now older and a newsreporter finding out about a tape (Scary Movie 3's version of the Ring's tape.) She has adopted a son who can tell the future (like in the 6th sense) and she gets a boyfriend who is a white rapper (8 mile.) After meeting up with her bestfriend, played by Regina Hall (supporting role in Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2) who is now a teacher, she begins to hang out with her. Little does she know that her best friend has seen a tape that will kill her in 7 days. Once she dies many other spoofs go on including things from signs, the lord of the rings and the others. The sotries are all connected which is nice because at first I had no clue what was going on.The movie has very good and funny thing going for it. However David Zucker does not exploit these parts of the movie. Anthony Anderson was very funny in the movie, he definitly should've been in more scenes. Anna Faris' son walks around like a very funny little boy predicting the future. But he too has only a few lines. Kevin Hart and Anthony Anderson have great arguing throughout the movie that is so stupid that it's funny. These too are rare moments. While Scary Movie 3 has plenty going for it does lack alot of what the previous installments of the movie did have. It doesn't have the crude humor or the sexual content that is completely unexpected. Something the PG-13 rating cant give. I'll miss the Wayans Brothers humor on this installments and any future installments that there not in. It has you miss a huge portion of the movie. I mean I was expecting Shorty (Marlon Wayans) to pop up or somethin. Like him being the aliens or something like that. Overall Scary Movie 3 was a dissapointment. If the old cas cant come back together then the series should just hang it up right now, while it has a chance to die somewhat shining.
Rating: Summary: Funny As Hell! Review: This movie was awesome. I thought since the other Scary Movies were rated R and this one is PG-13 that this one wasn't going to be very good. I was wrong. It was an awesome movie and I know for sure I'm going to buy this on DVD when it comes it. I'm going to buy Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2 as well. This movie had a cross between The Ring and Signs and had parts of 8 mile in it. Simon Rex played the character of like Eminem in this. I now love Anna Faris. She's really funny and that black girl who's on Malibu's Most Wanted. This movie is great. It's one you can watch with the whole family!
Rating: Summary: The Funniest Scare Yet And The Best Film Parody In Years Review: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2003--This feisty little spoof doesn't offer any truly original ideas or even any classic gags, but it's certainly quite funny, and I believe I laughed more consistently during this installment than during the previous two. While some may bemoan the loss of the Wayans Brothers, I feel that their absence is actually what aides this movie in becoming the best of the series - though that ain't exactly high praise. If the Wayans had been allowed back for a third try, we would have naturally ended up with more grotesquery masquerading as "comedy," which is what sunk "Scary Movie 2" faster than you can say "eww" (without laughing). Instead, Dimension got the Zucker team ("Airplane!," "The Naked Gun," "Hot Shots") on board for this one, and it turned out to be a wise move. They bring their trademark stupidity in full force, along with Charlie Sheen and Leslie Nielsen. And I mean stupidity as a compliment. Though very amusing, not much of what goes on here could be called "clever." Rather, the humor is more of the "oh my God that was so STUPID" variety, which, personally, I find funny (most of the time). At least, funnier than the sewer-grazing "humor" of part 2. "Scary Movie 3" won't win everyone over, and if you're not a fan of the forehead-slapping, eye-rolling genre of goofy comedy, I say skip it. For everyone else, it's a fun, if forgettable, laugh riot.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: Fans of the other two "Scary Movies" might be just a tad disappointed; after all, this movie isn't as disgusting as the first two. That's also a good thing: people who didn't want to see the first two because of the "sexual/gross" content might be more obliged to take a peek at this one. This is easily the best "Scary Movie" so far--the first one was pretty good, and the second was was OK, but this one is GREAT! It doesn't hurt that David Zucker ("Airplane!", "Naked Gun") is behind the wheel, and that Charlie Sheen and even Leslie Nielsen have major roles. Much of the old cast is missing; there are still a few familiar faces, however, and tons of cameos by your favorite stars. Look closely! Here's the plot (not that a plot is necessary in this type of movie): Charlie Sheen wakes up on his farm. He hears his daughter screaming. He runs out into the corn...and finds a crop circle (sound familiar?). Meanwhile, a reporter discovers a videotape that, when watched, means that you will die in seven days (sound familiar?). The two plots intermingle...with jokes and gags abounding! Based primarily on the plots of "Signs" and "The Ring," this movie also contains parodies of other movies, including "Matrix: Reloaded" and that Eminem movie. "Scary Movie 3" is a collage of all your favorite films...but it stands on its own. Whether you're a fan of the first two, or a newcomer, this movie will make you laugh your...socks...off!
Rating: Summary: Sometimes Funny ... Sometimes only SUPPOSED to be funny Review: Review Rule #1 - Funny is in the mind of the beholder ... The funniest moment I experienced related to this movie was when I bought my ticket. The local theater had a BOAT LOAD of show times for SM3 and I was having trouble figuring out when the next show time would be. I asked the ticket agent "So ... given what time it is now, what's the next logical time for me to see Scary Movie?" She looked at her monitor ... "Well, there's Texas Chainsaw Massacre" at 8:00pm ..." I laughed out loud ... For me ... "Scary Movie 3" was "OK". Occasionally clever, consistantly sophomoric and mildly amusing ... for me. BUT ... MOST of the audience with whom I saw Scary Movie 3 seemed to think it was uniformly so funny they couldn't help but laughing. And, to be fair, there were a few moments that had me laughing. But only about 20% of the attempts at humor tickled my funny bone. If you're the sort of person who typically likes what everybody else likes ... you'll probably get a kick out of it. As for me ... sounds like I'd better go see Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Rating: Summary: Let Down Review: I enjoyed the first two movies, but this one was obviously the brain child of someone different. The good jokes are too few and far between. The focus was totally off on what to spoof and frankly, the lack of the Wayan brothers made this film not so funny. They gave it the outrageous factor (and R rating) that made it funny and different. It was like watching a skit show with many commercials in between. There were great actors, but even they couldn't carry the film void of plot. I want my money back!
