Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I first saw this movie on the USA Network. I wondered why I can't find this in any video store, but I think now I understand. Based on the reviews I think people would brake it, and the company would lose money. The movie isn't as bad as people say it is. It was sort of like it was copying Scary Movie, so that brought down my rating. Scary Movie, to me gets 5 stars, so go see Scary Movie instead. Or, better yet, see both, but you will probably like Scary Movie the best.

Summary: Just stupid! well...its OK
Review: I hear alot of people saying that this movie is one of those movies like scary movie. That however is a complete load of crap. There is about 5 (if that) funny parts in this whole movie. I have no clue why this movie would be rated R. It shows very little blood/gore and doesn't swear at all. If, for some reason, you find this movie amusing or funny, I recommend "Terror Toons". It is another one of those "so stupid its funny" movies. But this movie is just plainly stupid. This movie is not worth most people's time or money.

Review: I must start by saying that i would give Scary Movie 3 out of 5. I like it's bigger production values, but it relies too much on sex jokes, which, although funny, get really really lame very quickly.
Shriek was produced before Scary Movie but pulled out of a theater release (in England, anyway) because it would have been crushed by Scary Movie. And upon one viewing, it was quite satisfying, but felt so incomplete or half formed, that it didnt have any validity.
Upon SECOND viewing, however, the film really sunk in. And now i keep saying Boner's excellent 'i'm never gonna get laid' line to people. Maybe i should stop doing that....
But the jokes come thick and fast. I personally couldnt stand the Dooey character in Scary Movie, but Doughy, in this film, is perfectly placed between spoof and the real thing. Hagatha Utslay (her second name appears to be slut in pig latin) has a more functional and concise part than her Scary Movie counterpart, and although the production values are clearly... not high (look at the cringeworthy title screen for proof).

Most importantly, however, is that they have more real jokes than any other film... ever. A few of them are total laugh out loud material, too. Doughy's 'it's just a harmless schoolboy prank' line (talking about the murder) had me in stitches, so to speak.
Buy it. It's nice to have a movie that will just make you smile whenever you see it.

Summary: I know what I did last Friday night: watched this movie
Review: I thought "Shriek..." was hilarious. THIS is the movie I had expected the disappointing "Scary Movie" to be. "Shriek" is an excellent parody, right up there with "Hot Shots" and "Airplane." A real hoot!

Review: I thought this movie was absolutely hilarious when I saw it the first time on USA, and I could not believe a movie made for cable could be that good. I have been looking for it on DVD ever since I saw it. I definitely thought it was terrific and much funnier than Scary Movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Great Parody Movie
Review: I thought this movie was hysterical. It spoofs everything from Scream to Grease. In my opinion, it is much funnier than Scary Movie. A must have for horror movie fans with a sense of humor.

Summary: Pure Sewage
Review: I watched this flick on USA because it sounded reminiscent of the much funnier "Student Bodies". Not quite. It was boring, stupid and I did not like the teen-age characters.Tom Arnold was a bore too. Fans of true slasher films will be disgusted. The "Scream" take-off was overdone too. I thought "Scary Movie" already covered this area.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: better than scary movie
Review: I watched this movie when it showed on the USA Network and laughed all the way through. If you seen scarry movie, then you'll know parody humor. I thought that the people in this movie had a little more depth,I could watch it over and over, and notice something new everytime, the parodys are well planed and clever, "just watch out, cause it's greased frightnin"

Summary: About what I expected
Review: If you enjoyed Scary Movie then you might like this one as well. But unlike Scary Movie where I thought much of it was funny, this one has only a few moments to laugh at. The Pop Up video part of the film was pretty good, but overall I sat through this one just like it was something on cable.

Summary: A Review.
Review: If you want to watch a great or even good spoof/parody movie, watch something by Mel Brooks, one of those films Leslie Neilsen is in, or the HOT SHOTS movies. If you want to see you bad movie (in every sense of the word), watch SCARY MOVIE. If you want to watch something inbetween, SHRIEK just might be your flick.

SHRIEK and SCARY MOVIE were both made around the same time. However, the brothers in charge of SCARY MOVIE pushed for a quicker release date and beat SHRIEK to the theatres. It is unfortunate, because in many ways SHRIEK is a much better film. For example, though both films go for sight gags, SHRIEK doesn't contain as much crude language or sex. The acting is about the same in both films, but SHRIEK largely has a cast of unknowns. I actually find them to be funnier than the stars of SCARY MOVIE. Of course, were not talking about Oscar performances here. Anyway, the movie spoofs everything from movies, to television, to commercials, to the general state of society. The gags or quick and it's hard to catch them all. Overall, not a movie that I would normally recommend, but I definitely prefer it to SCARY MOVIE.
