Summary: Great entertainment!
Review: This movie is a strange mix of laughs, chills, and the usually oddity of any movie with Dom Deluise in it. I have watched this movie since I was little and I still love it. The interesting cast of characters and surprisingly good storyline keep the entertainment going throughout the whole movie. And Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner and the others do a great job of making you laugh one minute, and sneak under the blanket the next. A wonderful movie for those times that you want something fulfilling to watch.

Sometimes the best movies are the older ones!

Summary: Haunted by images of this film
Review: Why would anyone want to direct this movie after reading the script? Why would anyone want to star in it after reading the script? Simple: both the director and the star are Gene Wilder. The finger of shame points in his general direction. Wilder then hoodwinked his wife and Dom DeLuise into being in the movie too. For the latter he disserves a public caning.

This movie has several times been referred to as "sophisticated"; I didn't know that sophisticated is a synonym for not funny. This movie is terrible. Wilder is afraid to marry Rudner in it so he's sent to DeLuise's house where he will be scared straight and hilarity does not ensue. It's a very bad movie. Anyone who likes this movie is stupid.

In this movie, Wilder spends some time in the home of Dom DeLuise and to prepare for the visit, Dom puts on women's clothing. That's it. That's enough of a description to turn anyone away from viewing. If one is enticed by the previous sentence, then one should be forced to watch it as punishment.

There's a disgusting scene where Rudner and DeLuise sing and dance. That's too much suck for one movie. Too much! I couldn't handle that much suck in one sitting, so I got up, opened some windows to let the suck out, and went for a walk. Then I came back and subjected myself to another fifty minutes of suck because I wanted to get my money's worth. But one can never get one's money's worth from such a terrible movie.

What a waste of talent, not on the part of the actors but on my behalf. I could have spent that hour and a half doing something more productive, like rummaging through trash. But why rummage through trash when one can watch it on DVD? Because it's a bad idea and, unfortunately for me, the warning, "Bad movie, do not watch! Run away!" did not appear on the case.

The ending is, "Oh no, I'm about to be killed. Watch out, it was all a dream!" More like a nightmare.
