Review: Move over "Plan 9 From Outer Space," the biggest stinker of all time has taken away your honor of "worst movie ever made."After watching a little bit of this, I determined that the everyone involved in this film must have gotten drunk on a Saturday afternoon and had nothing better to do than to put out a piece of silly nothing like this. It gives tomatoes a bad name. This has got to be THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! A junior high school film club could do better than this!

Summary: A worthy cult classic
Review: No sense in making fun of the script - the plot couldn't possibly work. No sense making fun of the special effects - you can see the wheels on some of the tomatoes. No sense making fun of the music - it'll only come back to haunt you in the late hours.
Somehow the over the top kitsch makes this movie a classic. You have to laugh. And watch it again and laugh some more. And watch it again making up drinking games as you go. No wonder it's become a cult classic.
Not a classic quality movie, but a prime example of excellence in the B-cult genre.

Summary: The best parody of bad movie-making ever created
Review: Occassionally a movie comes along that makes you stop and think about everything that you take for granted in a movie. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is one such movie. This movie makes no pretense of being good. Start with a low budget, hire non-actors, throw in some terrible writing, a bad soundtrack, and a story that barely makes any sense, and you end up with a movie that is a brilliant parody of all bad movies in one convenient, 90-minute format. The story, if you want to call it that, involves a secret government project gone horribly awry, resulting in tomatoes that at first attack people, then later grow huge and continue attacking people. A secret team of "specialists" is called in, headed by a fellow aptly named "Mason Dixon. Thankfully, you never see exactly how a mouthless, legless, brainless creature is able to not only move around, but indeed chase people and kill them. That's part of the joke; when you apply reasoning to almost any monster movie, nothing makes sense. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes thrives on sight gags, such as the small meeting room or the Japanese scientist who talks in overdubs. At the same time, there are plenty of bits of humor in the dialog, my favorite being the reporter who is interviewing the woman whose husband was just eaten by a tomato. If you like humor, check this one out. Just keep in mind that it's meant to be bad and you'll get the overall joke. Otherwise you'll wonder why I ever recommended it in the first place. If it was just a bit worse, I'd have given it 5 stars. END

Summary: The Original So Bad It's Good Movie...
Review: Oh my, my, my, my. What were these producers on? Maybe there was too much vodka mixed in with their tomato juice? Tomatoes taking over the world! What a silly idea for a movie, yet this one spawned 3 sequels AND an animated cartoon show. Who knew.
Not to be taken seriously this film is funny but not in a good way. The script is awful, even by Ed Wood standards, the sets are flimsy, the special effects are nil, and the acting is horrible. Still, ITS SO BAD that the badness takes over and becomes the center point of the movie. One good note, the Killer Tomato song is fab-u-licious!

Summary: The Packaging Copy Is The Funniest Thing About It!
Review: Silly and boring a good deal of the time, there are some really, really funny bits. But you have to wade through some painful stupidity and dated cheesiness to get to them. (Hey, I'm a check-forging artichoke so what do I know.) I was taken in by the funny synopsis -- FIND THAT COPYWRITER AND FEED HIM TO THE TOMATOES!

Summary: Definitely NOT a good/bad movie
Review: Some movies are so bad, they are good...unintentionally. However, this movie actually tries to be funny and fails miserably. It is neither funny through its intended satire, nor funny because it is bad. It is just plain bad. To get an idea of the concept of this film, picture a movie trying to be like "Airplane" or "Naked Gun". Add to that production values equivalent to a 70's porno movie. Despite it's "reputation"....this is one to avoid. Get your kitsch elsewhere.

Summary: Awesome! The extras are amazingly funny!
Review: The extras, especially the original version of the movie "Baboosa Land" are hilarious, especially when Finletter tries to come down the hill with his parachute! The DVD is a lot cleaner, and they used a few of the funnier clips of the directors cut within the oringinal (Like the scene where the guy knocks the boat off the wall), which produced the best of both movies. This movie is one of the most stupid and funny films I have ever watched. Watching it with the commentary by the creators makes you realize just how insane they are and wish that they would make another one.

Review: There are MANY rumors that have been scattered around about this movie(the first one.) One of my favorites is that Roger Corman really directed this film in secret because it related so much to his super-cheap 1960 cult classic The Little Shop of Horrors.(Oh, and the truth is this was adapted from the 70's play:Attack of the Killer Tomatos.)
