Review: The second installment from the halfwitted Grizwold family. And what a trip. Aud and Russ set a fine example of American kids. European vacation was 10 years ahead of it's time. Funnier today then ever before. The 80's took themselves too seriously. Chase is so fluid in the role you have to wonder what if? Beverly D'Angelo is imperiouisy as the pouting Ellen. Second only to Fletch and C Thomas Howell's Side Out. Funny, gritty, determind. When is the box set coming out?

Review: This is a film that brings back my own experiences of touring Europe. Believe me, there are so many American tourists who visit Europe and are shockingly unprepared to experience the continent's culture; the Griswold family gives us all a great vicarious experience with foreign travel. There's an old joke that circulated throughout the world. "If you speak two languages, you're bilingual. If you speak three languages, you're trilingual. If you speak one language, you're an American." The family's encounter with the waiter in the Paris cafe should be enough to warn anyone to become familiar with the language of the country they are planning to visit.

Review: Our family thought this series of movies to be so funny as to be worth emulating moments from them when we did a vacation to Europe.We drove around Big Ben and Houses of Parliament only to discover that there are traffic lights on the round-about...anyway, a fantastic movie.

Summary: The most overlooked of the Vacation "story"
Review: For any American who has traveled throughout Europe, either with or without his/her family, this movie will consistently bring a smile to your face. An effective satire of American tourists in Europe, European Vacation highlights all the typical, often "hindsightedly" humorous, trevails an American might encounter there. From French public displays of affection to British subtle sarcasm and patronizing attitudes, to German beer festivals, the movie covers them all. Clark and the rest of the Grizwalds make these realities all the more hilarious. The only significant negatives are the two kids, Rusty and Audrey, who are quite annoying, and the lack of America's favorite cousin, Eddie, who I think could have added much to this comedy. All in all, it's a darn good flik for anyone who enjoys the premise of the whole Vacation series.

Summary: Clark Griswold strikes again.......in Europe!!!!!!!
Review: The Griswolds stumble into victory on a goofy gameshow and win an "all inclusive" vacation around Europe. While Clark and Ellen provide their usual hilarious antics, the children do not meet up to par. Rusty is boring and Audry is fat and annoying. This movie however is a must for Chevy Chase fans. One classic line from the movie comes when Rusty is whining (as usual) about wearing a beret when they get to France, Clark says to him, "That's the national hat there fella!" You have to see it to appreciate it. Personally I was not disappointed.

Summary: "I Can't Get Left!!......."
Review: After the hilarious classic that was the original "Vacation", this film was a complete and utter disappointment. Not to say that it didn't have it's moments. It does. Just not as many or as memorable as anything from the original, or even the hysterical "Christmas Vacation". Once again, Chevy Chase and family hop on a plane after they win a trip to England after appearing on a game show hosted by the always great John Astin. Once there, hijinks ensue. I'm talking about Mrs. Griswald being kidnapped. That sets up the climax of the film. I think jumping on a plane and just getting to your destination is what ruins this film and "Vegas Vacation". A trip there, like in the first, is more entertaining and more open to comedic bits. The kids, Rusty and Audrey, are the worst ones in the series. Has anyone noticed that their ages don't change?. They also go up and down in height and weight and hair stylings. In reality, Rusty and Audrey would be 0ver 30. But, amazingly, in every movie they're still 14 years old. If there's a 5th film, maybe Chevy can take his grandchildren on a vacation?. Speaking of Chevy, he is just fine in this. He's funny. The movie, as a whole, is definitley not. Watch out for a hysterical Eric Idle in a small role. Could of been so much better.
