Summary: Chevy Chase at his best
Review: What a delight to finally get this classic comedy available on DVD. It is a bit of a mystery why this has taken so long when the others in the series have been available for some time.Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo turn in sterling performances as the Mr and Mrs Griswald in a romp across Europe that sends up both Europeans and American tourists. Right from the start there are laughs galore with John Astin as the lecherous game show host with eyes on teenage Griswald daughter Audrey. As winners of the pig in a poke quiz show the family win a two week vacation in Europe and off they go. England first with dreams of Diana, Prince of Wales and the reality of four channel TV, only to find each show is about chees. Of course, no spoof about England would be complete without reference to British politeness taken to the extreme and the stiff upper lip so admirably played by Eric Idle in a not unfamiliar role. There is however, a strange ommission, no jokes about British food! France next where American and British stereotypes of the French are given full rein before moving on to Germany and ultimately Italy. This is a movie that every culture can enjoy. It is a movie which pokes fun at it's own culture as well as other peoples and in a way which makes us look at ourselves in a different light. For me this is the best of the vacation series and a movie where Chase is at his peak, along with that other gem, 'Fletch'. This movie also set the scene for a British TV show years later, 'Root into Europe' which I would heartily recommend to comedy fans. Definitely a classic and one for every collector. It certainly shows how a good movie should be treated when being transferred to DVD unlike the poor job that was done on the recent DVD release of the 'Tall Guy'.

Summary: The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Griswolds! Look out!
Review: Finally, this forgotten Vacation movie finds it's way to DVD after all these years! Chevy Chase returns, in his best movie role, as Clark Griswold....hero of the world! He wins a vacation to Europe, courtesy of the (not so) hit television show: Pig In A Poke, and with his quick, high IQ(not)! He plans, with his family, a detailed swing through his mother land, while he burns their barbeque! Upon arrival in England, he books the family in a world famous hotel....with the top service you would come to expect....uh, maybe not. The next morning, Clark crashes his rental car into another car(the driver graciously gives his damaged fender to Clark) and soon after - Clark drives into a bicycler, Eric Idle(Monty Python fame) - who limps away, with his totaled bike, wanting absolutely no money or help from Clark! Out of his gratefulness, Clark manages to smash into this poor Englishman two more times, ultimately! Clark shows Ellen, Audrey and Rusty the monumental sights of England - he spends the rest of the day pointing out Big Ben and Parliament(to an eventually sleeping family), because of his inability of making a left lane change/exit in a large loop road! Too funny! After completely ruining Stonehenge(by backing his car into and toppling it), Clark drags his weary family on a quick trek through unforgettable Paris, France....and the beautiful countryside of Germany....with more trouble looming ahead! Summary: stupid waste of time
Review: This was a "wanted to be" monty python.Here are a number o reasons why this movie is stupid. 1.If the makers can't think of any humour they throw in naked ladies.
2.It's often slapstick predictable humour.
3.It lacks new ideas from the original film.
4.It just isn't funny.
5.It's just an attempt to beat monty python.
6.The first was a lot better
7.It has no story line and you can't relate to any of the characters.

Summary: Look Kids.. We Know !! Big Ben...Parliament ...
Review: This movie was excellent. Chevy Chase was at his hilarious best in this sequel. I was just wondering about the whereabaouts of Jason Lively. I dug his part in this as well as some of the other movies he played in. He was excellent as Russell Griswald. In fact, in a small sort of way, he helped make the movie. Some of his scenes, like the dream sequence of him dancing in a european nightclub to Robert Palmer's "Some Like It Hot" and a drunken "Oink Oink My Good Man" to Chevy Chase in the european "show club" was awesome. If anyone knows his whereabouts or if he is still making movies please reply to this and e-mail me at ... I have been wondering what has happened to him. This movie, regardless of what others think, was just as good as the first one. Chevy (Clark) & his family just continued the hilarious vacation overseas and ran into more crazy insanity along the way. Hilariously Entertaining ...5 Stars. (Stonehenge...standing the test of time for thousands of future generations to see... And we were here...we were here)

Review: If anyone can tell me if European Vaction is coming out on DVD in the future or if it going to be released as a Boxed-Set to go along with Vaction, Christmas Vaction, and Vegas Vaction which on already on DVD, please let me know.

Summary: Funny, Classy, Smart, and Winning Sequel.
Review: European Vacation is for sure, the best movie released in 1986...it's very funny and the humor is such a large dose, that you end up having a heart attack by the end.

Summary: It's good but not as good as the others
Review: Any person like me who is a fan of these vacation movies can tell that this might be the lower of all the vacation movies. But like many have said it does have its funny moments but then it is missing the spark that the original vacation movie had and you can't even compare it to Christmas Vacation. I even liked Vegas Vacation more better than this. I think the Griswald's need to stay in america like they do in most of there movies it seems to be funnier and being overseas just does not work correctly with these type of movies. The plot is also the most lame and dumbest of all movies, but yet again this is funny but not a smash hit.

Review: I must admit I haven't seen the original "Vacation", so I can't compare this one with it. This movie has some really funny scenes, but as a whole, it's quite mediocre. I suppose the extreme stereotypes were done on purpose, and some of them are funny (the French waiter for example), and some aren't. The funniest thing is probably the satire of Americans, and their idea of a great vacation. They stay for about ten minutes at each tourist attraction (Stonehenge, The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre...) in order to not break the schedule and they seem to think they're above the Europans, who they often regard as quite stupid. Chevy Chase is funny as the optimistic and stupid father. Beverly D'Angelo is sometimes funny as the mother and I actually thought Dana Hill was quite funny as the daughter, Audrey, but Jason Liveley was annoying as the son. It's not a bad movie, not at all, it has some really funny scenes and it is entertaining, but there are many better and funnier comedies.
