Summary: Best Comedy in History!
Review: Sputter-sputter! I just read your critics' opinions. What were those guys on? Self-importance pills? I consider myself a movie aesthete. (I've had a couple of those pills myself.) I mean you wouldn't catch me dead at mass cult films like Gladiator, but I say Three Amigos is the funniest film in history! I can't say exactly why, but all that faux innocence is so appealing. The movie is a wonderful sendup of the Gene Autry movies of my youth, but judging by the reactions of my kids, you don't have to get the satire to love it. That campfire scene is priceless and the Randy Newman song is such a perfect balancing act between satire and a really catchy campfire ditty...well my 50 gallon sombrero is off to everyone involved! Get some French critics to view the film. Maybe they'll understand it.

Summary: Overtly stupid and highly entertaining!
Review: I have to admit, I didn't give this movie the time of day in it's initial release. But, with repeated showings on TV I suddenly discovered that this is one funny movie! The only down side to this DVD version is that there really aren't any good extras. The picture and sound quality are good, but the "goodies" leave much to be desired (in Chevy's bio it claims he starred in "Fletch 3"). I would love to see a special edition version with commentary from the cast & crew. Until then, this will just have to do.

Summary: She'll be riding three white fools when she comes.
Review: Just wait, stop and think for one minute... Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short... put them together, in a film, with funny little costumes, horses, a great comic-script, some stunning catchphases and incredible characters... and my friend you have yourself a film.

I have always loved this film but lost touch with it until its latest release on DVD. The actors' achievements before and since say enough, but their comic timing and performances in the film are absolutely outstanding to watch and have me in fits of uncontrolled laughter each time... no matter what I do, it happens everytime, I even know what gags are coming up, that doesn't help! I give in to the tears and surrender to the comedy giants popping up on the screen in front of me.

The story tells of three actors who, for reasons they explain, feel they should be getting a bit more... it doesn't turn out the way they planned, and when offered to take up their screen legend personnas 'The Three Amigos' to fight injustice for real, the decision has to be made whether to fight and die like men, or run like pigs. Which one do you think they pick?

Scenes to watch out for: My Little Buttercup / Piarie Lullaby / The Singing Bush / The Final Defeat of the baddies.

Summary: A true comedy: without comprise to hollywood schmaltz
Review: Everything in this movie was intended to be funny, and the movie accomplished its intent with ease. If you don't think that Mexican Banditos using the word plethora is funny, then you don't get the joke. Quite simply, a genius comedy of the same ilk as Brain Candy, the Johnny Dangerously or Blazing Saddles.

Summary: Why you shouldn't trust the critics
Review: I wholeheartedly agree with the hundreds of reviews that contradict the supposed expert opinions of this classic movie. While the comedic style is somewhat akin to Airplane or Naked Gun, the tone here is much more understated and the story moves along nicely and leaves you feeling for the characters. I don't think I've ever seen Chevy Chase or Martin Short being funnier, and who can possibly forget Steve Martin as he cries "I'm going to go talk to them - man to man" ! Non-stop laughter, good plot, perfect timing .. what's next, is a gringo going to fall out of the sky ? Yes, El Guapo !

Summary: go get'em amigos!
Review: This is a great movie to view over and over. The jokes are stated with a slight pause and pace so that the scene is contimplated. One can start viewing the movie in the middle and catch on to the story and action. I am sure the producers used real mexicans because the faces of El Guapo's bandits are unforgetable! My 2 year old really loves it!

Summary: What were they thinking?
Review: I can't believe the critics hated this movie. I can't believe anyone ever has! My friends and I walk to campus singing the "Buttercup" song, and I know I will never forget the definition of "infamous". The scenes in here are just too classic- a definite must see and must buy!

Summary: Great...Real bullets!
Review: I just picked this up on DVD and what new life this transfer breathes into a comedy classic! Great picture and colors complimented by a GREAT sounding score by the all time great Elmer Bernstein make for lots-o- repeated viewings. My 9 year old watched this for the first time Friday and watched it again 3 more times that same weekend. Still funny after all these years!
