Summary: Emperor's New Clothes
Review: Unfortunately, I did not see this until after two years of hype had gone on. Predictably, it did not live up to that hype. I like Mike Myers, and Austin is a great character for him, but the movie simply did not exploit either his talent or the Austin character.

It had funny moments, but too few to hold the movie together. Hope they get better writers for future episodes.

Summary: What a offensive movie!
Review: As a girl, (duh a female) I found this movie hugely offensive. For the mental producer to portray women as sex objects, "shagadelic babies" is just downright immoral. Why doesn't someone make a movie with girls portrayed as pervs., and then see how guys respond?

Summary: Mike Myers at his best.
Review: Director Jay Roach and Mike Myers makes one of the best films of 1997 and certainly Funniest Film of the century. Mike Myers does his best as Austin Powers and Dr.Evil. Dr.Evil is very funny, of course Austin also. This film has a good cast, a lot of funny lines and scenes. Elizabeth Hurley was the best choice as Austin soon to be wife. Robert Wangner has a good role as Number 2. Mindy sterling, she very funny as Frau Farbissina. Seth Green is very funny also as Scott Evil. Micheal York is fine also. Fabiana Udenio has a funny unusual name as Alotta Fagina. Paul Dillon is funny as a unusual hit man putting one of his lucky charms after killing a person, one of the film biggest laughs. Co produced by Demi Moore also she produced the sequel. Will ferrell has a small cameo as mustafa, also he has appear in the sequel. Charles Napier, Tom Arnold, Carrie Fisher, Clint Howard and Burt Bacharach as himself in cameos also. Watch for Rob Lowe in a deleted scene in the DVD version OR the VHS widescreen version of the first film, Christian Slater(?) as the easily fooled security guard, Rock star Matthew Sweet as Ming Tea Member and Patrica Tallman as Electric Psychedeloic PussyCat Swingers` Club waitress, she best known as a stunt woman and actress. she appear in the 1990 remake- Night Of The Living Dead.
This film is writting by Mike Myers and also Co writting the sequel.

DVD has an fine anamorphic Widescreen (1.95:1) format and Clear sounding Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Grade:B+. Super 35.

Summary: A Demoralizing Movie
Review: I can't believe how popular this movie is. It is the most numbing, obscence piece of trash I have ever had the unfortunate priviledge of watching.

I have a great sense of humor, but the "humor" portrayed in this movie is just bathroom humor, down-in-the-gutter humor. There is not an honest joke throughout this entire mess.

I watched it, and I only laughed once; even that was a mere chuckle. If you found this an exhilirating movie . . . GET A LIFE!

Summary: First of all...I liked it.
Review: First of all...I liked it! But I will tell you right off the bat....that you have to really appreciate 60's music and sexual innuendos/jokes to enjoy this film as it is meant to be enjoyed, but if you are easily offended, then stay away.

If you look at this movie as a Michael Myers (no, not the Halloween guy, the Saturday Night Live guy), then you know what you are getting into. Austin Powers is a unique film to say the least...it is going to be one that you either really like or truly find to be waste of your time...personally I found it to be entertaining.

Quick story line... Austin Powers is a Not-so Secret Agent who is frozen in the 60's and is defrosted only when his counter-part Dr. Evil (who I think you will also recognize) defrosts and re-takes control of his underworld crime organization.

Bottom line...Austin Powers is not James Bond, but he is definitely funnier than Bond has ever been.

Summary: Absolutely hilarious
Review: Actors generally acknowledge that it is harder to play comedy than to play drama. The elements of drama are easy, but what makes comedy funny is hard to figure out. Based on the Austin Powers movies, Mike Meyers is a genius. The actor-writer has done a brilliant job spoofing the Bond films and leaving his audience in stitches. I'm a big fan of the Bond movies, so spotting the little bits from 007 films Meyers is spoofing is a real treat.

People who love Bond won't be disappointed. Actually, it's hard to see how anyone will be disappointed by this laughfest.
