Summary: Austin Powers in Full Effect
Review: On DVD this is a must own. Even not on DVD, it STILL is a must own.I like the humor decent for a movie like this. It did have some gaps in it but not to many. over 21 deleted scenes,Dr. Evil's hidden "Easter Egg", and 3 music videos, YOU CANT MISS IT. MY advice...... BUY THIS

Summary: More Of The Same
Review: The latest installment of the Austin Powers series feels more like a cross between a rehash and an extension of the first. The plot is a reversal of the first movie, with Austin traveling back in time to the sixties. The movie cleverly shows the changes spending time in the more conservative 90's has had on Austin Powers. It's very evident in the contrast between Felicity Shagwell and Austin. He's now upset by her promiscuous behavior, while she in turn is just emulating his old behavior. The time switch also allows for a reversal of several of the jokes from the first movie. Sometimes this works and sometimes it feels a little overdone. Dr. Evil's demand for three billion dollars which draws laughs from the president was a pretty obvious joke. There are enough new jokes to keep it fresh and funny however.

Mike Meyers does a wonderful job in all three roles. I especially like him as Dr Evil. It's easy to forget that it's actually Mike Meyers. Fat B****** was disgusting and hilarious and the make up was well done. The supporting cast are all talented and funny. Rob Lowe does a dead on impersonation of Robert Wagner. It was so good I thought they dubbed Robert Wagner's voice on the soundtrack. The only weak actor was Heather Graham. She is definitely beautiful and charismatic but her reactions are out of place and she seems to be smiling in every situation.

The extras are the usual stuff. The outtakes don't add a lot but are funny. The commentary track with the director, co-writer and Mike Meyers isn't as funny as I would have hoped. Jay Roach dominates the conversation with long, lengthy technical blather that didn't entertain me. The best part was Mike Meyers pointing out the Hollywood hills visible in the background of down town London. I enjoyed the making of documentary but again Jay Roach rambles on with the film school jargon.

This was an enjoyable movie despite the flaws. Jay Roach compares the film to Monty Python several times. I don't know how accurate this is but the movie is more intelligent than most comedies made these days.

Summary: Not as good as the first one.
Review: I loved the first Austin Powers movie, but this movie just was not as good. The first one was a spoof for James Bond. This was also meant to be, but it lost that touch and became more of a love story for Austin and Falicity. The action was very short lived, and there was not very much of it. It seems like Austin spent more time in this movie dating Falicity than on the actual mission he had of finding his mojo. I can't decide if the plot was actually to get back his mojo, or stop Dr. Evil. They seemed to focus a lot more on Austin's mojo, though. A lot of the jokes from this movie were THE SAME JOKES as the last one. The woman with the odd name, The making fun of the dead guard, and many more. Plus, Fat B****** was annoying!!! I also didn't like how they focused back and fourth on Austin and Dr. Evil. Sometimes, it would show a 5 sec. clip of Austin, then go back to Dr. Evil, and so on.

Besides those facts, this movie made me laugh a lot, and I liked it. The first one was just a little better, and if I could, I would give this 3 1/2 stars.

Review: Bassiclly, I'd rate it 3 1/2 stars but it is okay. The humors on it's sick side but it's okay. Also, this is a little great but...( I know this was not helpful)

Summary: Yeah, baby!
Review: The second round of Austin Powers was definitely funnier than the first. There werent as many James Bond references as the first one, but there was a lot more physical comedy this time around. Plus, this time, we have Mini-Me, a 2-foot clone of Dr. Evil.

This time, Dr. Evil returns to Earth after crygenic in a giant Big Boy orbiting the earth. While trying to come up with a plan, he figures out the best way to get his revenge on Austin is to go back in time to the 60's to steal his "mojo". Austin soon learns that his "mojo" is gone, and he, too, travels back to his home time, the 60's. While he thinks it's great to be back in the 60s, he soon learns that Dr. Evil is building a base on the moon, with plans to blow up each major city on the earth with a giant "laser". The plot's mostly derived from the 007 flick Moonraker.

The DVD's great. One of the best DVDs out there. It's got lots of great stuff, including some hilarious deleted scenes, like one where Dr. Evil tries to tell his latest evil plan and the espresso machine keeps running in the background. There's all kinds of stuff, in fact, too much to mention. But the highlights are a secret "Dr. Evil" menu where there's a list of failed James Bond and other spy villains, a Dr. Evil "spyography", a commentary with Mike Myers and Jay Roach, and just tons of stuff.

I just hope that, with The Spy Who Shagged Me, we haven't seen the last of Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. One thing I find funny is, the women in Austin Powers (Elizabeth Hurley and Heather Garham) are hotter than the women in the most recent Bond flicks. This movie's just amazing, considering that most of the movie was made up on the spot (it's true). Here's hoping there's more Austin Powers adventures.

Summary: Depends how you watch the movie..
Review: When I first saw this film on the recommendation of a friend, I thought it was horrendous! I couldn't believe how pathetic the jokes were and how it managed to get so much acclaim. However...I watched it again and it started to grow on me. Some of the gags are just too pathetic for a sane mind however you look at it. The part where he is interrogating the driver for example. It goes on way too long. And do I even need to mention the coffee pot thing? The 007 rip-off gags are great, but you have to be really with it as far as Bond movies go to get the jokes because it is jam-packed with corny Bond stuff. You want examples? OK, Mini-me - remember Nik Nak "Golden Gun", piano playing scene - Drax, well, the list goes on. I like the musical numbers too. It kind of balances out the pathetic parts of Dr Evil's gag lines. Anyway, I haven't seen the first one yet but I am going to rent it out tonight! Yeah baby, yeah!

Summary: Austin Powers: The goof who bored me!
Review: Were it not for the great music and the attractive female stars, this film would be completely unbearable. Whether it is intended to be a comedy, a satire, it doesn't matter, it is complete and utter c**p. I never expected a class actor as Tim Robbins to perform (be present) in a piece of garbage like this. A complete waste of time and money. Buy the great soundtrack instead. The 1 star rating is actually too much for this movie (if you can call it a movie).

Summary: The spy who put me to sleep(1 star is too much)
Review: I would call this the worse film ever made, but some of my favorite films have been described as the worse film ever made so I cannot put this film in that category because even the title of worse film ever made gives this film too much recognition, got it? First of all, what was the point of MINI ME? The only gag was that he is short..OH a handicap joke, I'm laughing so hard!! How Funny!! Putting a handicapped man in the film for everyone to laugh at, gee Mike Meyers your fabulous..and the guy is a terrible actor anyway..2nd thing is, the scene where Austin, in a split screen, is talking to himself from 10 minutes in the future is so badly put together that it makes The Patty Duke show seem like cutting edge technology..Oh and gee Austin Power's assistant takes on a lesbian lover with a uni-brow, will the pure genius comedy ever stop? Mr. Meyers your 15 minutes of fame is over, please, please, go away, far, far away from my dvd player as possible...

Summary: Shagadelic baby, yeah!! Just as good as the original!!
Review: Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery is one of my favorite comedies of all times, especially since I'm a big Mike Myers fan. I never even saw it in the theatres. Like a lot of Austin Powers fans, we became fans when we rented the movie. What is so great is that The Spy Who Shagged Me is just as wild and crazy as the original, with a lot more jokes packed in, most of them working. My favorite scene is at the beginning, where Scott, Dr. Evil's son, appears on Jerry Springer with him. Dr. Evil and Scott get into a brawl with Neo-Nazis and KKK members, and every other word is bleeped like on the actual show, and even Jerry gets involved in the fight. I knew then that this movie was going to be over the top. The lucious Heather Graham plays Powers' new partner and love interest, Felicity Shagwell. They must stop Dr. Evil from destroying Washington, DC from his secret moon base. And of course, on his side he has Mini-Me, a pint-size clone of himself. Using the profits from his Starbucks coffee corporation, he also builds a time machine and goes back in time to steal Austin Powers' mojo. Which means that Austin is no longer as virile as he once was. This film is an instant classic, easily as good as the original.

The DVD is loaded with extras, my favorite being the Mike Myers/Jay Roach commentary, because those two have a great time doing it, and it's a real blast listening to both of them tell jokes and discuss what parts of the movies are ad libbed and scripted, etc. It also has the trailers for both movies, tv spots, a lot of deleted scenes, and more. New Line continues their excellent Platinum Series line with this fully loaded and original DVD. I was also pleased by the sound quality, the digital reproduction is one of the best I have heard on Dolby Digital from New Line, just as good as Lost in Space. And even the DVD menus are funny the way they are set up. The Spy Who Shagged Me on DVD is out of this world!
