Summary: Groovy, Baby!
Review: This is tge ultimate Austin Powers!! It is action and comedy at the same time, therefore very entertaining. I was surprised what the Mojo was, because even if it was in the first movie, I never saw the first, only this one. I hope to see Goldmember, but I think I'll wait till it comes out on VHS to see it.So I highly reccomend you watch this, for it's the ultimate if you're an Austin Powers fan or looking for comedy/action.

Summary: Mike Meyers Did It Better THis TIme!
Review: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me is the second movie in the Austin Powers series. (The third film, Goldmember, being released on 7-26-02) that continues the adventures of Austin and his arch evil villain Dr. Evil. This movie takes everything the first film did and makes it better. The comic genius of Mike Meyers, Robert Wagner (and now Rob Lowe) as well as Seth Green and other supporting cast makes this a very funny film. It is filled with sight gags and comic wit as well as humor that is so stupid it's hysterical. The plot - stop Dr. Evil from threatening the world with his new "LASER". Guest appearances by Elvis Costello, Burt Bacharach, Woody Harrilson, Willie Nelson, Clint Howard, Christina Johnson and more makes this a movie filled with every kind of 'star' you could think of. The effects are very cool and there are some obvious product plugs - like Starbucks - that obviously have a great sense of humor too. The DVD extras are great. The behind the scenes are very insightful and the deleted scene just as funny as the movie overall. The commentary is not as good as the commentary on the first film - because they talk a lot about the first film in this second films commentary. There are even the original theatrical teasers that include the Star Wars parody spots that Dr. Evil uses. It makes this very funny. There are CD Rom features that include pictures and sound bites and wallpaper and pictures. It even has a trivia game on it. Very cool. Both of these films are great to have.

Summary: The Spy Who Disappointed Me
Review: I was one of the few who saw the original Austin Powers in theaters, and I loved it for its giddy silliness, its originality, its warmth, and its well-proportioned helpings of cheese. Unfortunately, Mike Myers seems to have left most of that behind in the sequel, and filled the void with as much gross-out humor as possible. The silliness is still there, but somehow it's just not as fresh this time. That has everything to do with the second thing I loved about the first movie: its originality. The sequel has little of this. It recycles a LOT of the jokes from the original movie, but this time they're delivered more smugly, because Myers knows we laughed at them the first time. The few new jokes to be found are a lot higher on the gross-o-meter than what we saw before. The original Austin movie had heart. Powers was larger than life, but he was also a fish out of water trying to understand the brave new world in which he found himself. The romance between he and Liz Hurley was sweet. The sequel, however, undercuts all that--first by quickly dispatching Hurley's character, and then by having Powers skipping from time to time without missing a beat, mugging for the camera all the while. There are funny moments, and there are scenes that shine. Mini-Me is a riot. It's worth watching at least once if you're a fan of the first movie, and like many, you may even like it better. I found it lacking in many areas that made the first so funny and brilliant.

Summary: Boring and pointless.
Review: No other movie in history has been destroyed nearly as much as this one has by it's own fans. Through irritating repetition of such phrases as "Yeah, baby, yeah" and "shagadelic," many AP fans have turned the original movie into a breeding ground for irritating stand-up comedian wannabes. The problem, then, with the sequel to Austin Powers is that it does very little except re-hash those same catch phrases and pair them up with needless gross-out scenes. The end result is a movie that is disgusting, annoying, and ultimately very dull. To be fair, there are one or two funny scenes in this movie. Myers does a pretty good job of handling his characters, but he only has enough material for about half of a script--and so, the other half of the movie is comprised of saying the first half over again and hoping that you won't notice. It's a sad day when you see a movie that has so little inspiration running for it when it has to repeat itself--...! Still, it's better than "Goldmember"....

Summary: Oh no, he didn't say that...AGAIN?
Review: Well, they took a great film and DUPLICATED it, then slapped a new title on the front. Unfortunately, the better cast got the sloppy leftovers of the first film's script. Lots of the same jokes, which aren't that funny the second time around. True, the leading woman is a step up from the first (Heather Graham kicks Liz Hurley's groovy tailbone), but this one doesn't come close to the original in any other area.

Summary: Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen
Review: I recently had a 12-year old niece visit for a few days, and evenings we would rent videos. She insisted that we rent "The Spy Who Shagged Me", which I had mercifully avoided up till then, telling me how funny it was. Well, I watched about 45 minutes and left the room. By that time I was too uncomfortable with the pitiful attempts at humor and too grossed out to continue. (My niece only laughed twice in the 45 minutes I was there; I guess it wasn't that funny after all.) The stuff that wasn't gross wasn't funny (I was cringing at most of it) and the gross stuff - pathetic. I can't tell you how much I hated this movie on every level. How my niece's generation got to think that the epitome of humor involves bodily functions is beyond me. What is also beyond me is the preponderance of 4 and 5-star reviews .... They say you can never go broke underestimating the taste or the intelligence of the American public, and this certainly proves it. That this piece of ... got an average rating of 4 stars from almost 400 reviews certainly means the end of civilization as we know it, and probably also means the new Austin Powers #3 will be a big hit.

Summary: I have never seen a movie with so much missing picture
Review: Widescreen or Full-screen, Depending on which one has more picture, I'll watch that version,
All movies in this world are usually filmed in a Wide format that you see in Theaters & then the sides get chopped off to make a square version on video,
"well" This movie is the other way around, It was filmed in a 1.33:1 Square format that you see on Video, & then the top & bottom gets chopped off to make a 2.35:1 Wide version for the Theaters & the DVD,
It is hard to watch this movie on DVD knowing that the TAPE is better,
I don't know why they had to project this movie like that in Theaters, cause DVD company's are Totaly into presenting movies in their Original Theatrical Aspect Ratio,
"Well" This movie is & it's terrible
I think DVD's should be presented in the format the movie was originally filmed, Giving you as much picture as possible, "I don't care if it's the Directors vision" "he should have filmed it in a Wide format" This is the only reason why the Austin Powers 2 TAPE is better than the DVD,
I certainly hope they release a Full-Screen version of this movie on DVD, I will buy it, Please read this review carefully, I don't want to give people the wrong impression,
I only buy DVD's in Widescreen, But this movie is an exeption
because so much of the picture is missing,
The first Austin Powers is not like that, Exept in a couple of scenes,
& it's funny that the movies that are getting "made fun of"
-the James Bond movies- are a Widescreen lovers dream, They were filmed in a superb 2.35:1 aspect ratio, & none of the picture is missing on the DVD,
This Austin Powers movie is Backwards, maybe it has to do with the joke about how the 1990's is in a Square world, This movie is totaly Square,

Summary: A Sequal that actually lives up to the first
Review: Intro: When the first Austin came out, it was easily one of the funniest films ever made. We all knew there would be a sequal, but would it live up to the first? Yes it did. Movie Review: AP2, was great. Extremely funny, from the skit to "Are you hungry Mini Me?" to "UFO sighting" that movie was non-stop laughter. The sequal was actually BETTER than the first. I truly did not enjoy the 60s dance scenes when Austin went back in time, but no movie is perfect. Some people bash this movie, but who can forget the chess scene? DVD Review: This is a great DVD with great features. With Dr. Evil's hidden features, it's great. The music vids are great, the deleted scenes are wonderful, and the making of is good...well, the making of wasen't that good. Overall:
