Summary: Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!
Review: This movie was the worst. They should have left it alone with the first one. Most movies are not made to be sequels. This was one of them. Im glad I didn't see it in the movies, because I would have been mad I spent $8 on it. To keep it short and sweet, what were the thinking?

Summary: The DVD Who Shagged I
Review: Non-stop fun is what I had when watching this film. Mike Myers who recently is being considered for another skit-to-film release, is brilliant when it comes to comedy. His actions and voices are by far extraordinaire and I think anyone could say he's hilarious. Beautiful women is another factor this film has, Hurley and Graham pull it off with their sexy moves and voices. The film is just fun and the plot is your ol' evil man takes over the world plot. The whole catch here are the jokes. Jokes come at every second. You really need to watch the film three times to hear everything. It's brilliant and sassy. The DVD itself is also packed with everything. Secrets galore. Dr. Evil's secret lair which contains Comedy Central specials and videos of Dr. Evil is great. The deleted scenes will keep you occupied and are very funny. It's no wonder why this is a top seller. I suggest you buy this comedy before anything else. It's superpacked with a great DVD experience. The menus, specials, deleted scenes, and the movie itself will keep you laughing till 2099. BUY THIS DVD!

Summary: Very Unoriginal.
Review: Dumb swinger secret agent- beautiful assistant he falls in love with- dull yet wacky enemy. Sounds alot like another movie I know of, what was it called, oh yeah- The First "Austin Powers". The original was very funny and original, it was a slap in the face to most comedies at the time. Unfortunitely, "The Spy Who Shagged Me" is basically the same thing, except Austin Powers goes back in time again. Its so predictable, because it is all the same gags as the first Austin Powers. Now all these kids are quoting this movie, and think that it is so hilarious, it was hilarious the first time it happened, then they basically made a carbon copy. Also, the original Austin Powers was a flop, not many people saw in the theatre, but word got around, and every body saw it when it was released on video, which is the making of a great comedy. If you already own the original, you dont need to buy this, because you pretty much already own it.

Summary: The Original, Recycled
Review: This movie really is funny. It's just as funny as the first. The reason I rated this movie so low however, is that the reason this movie is just as good as the first is because most of the jokes were IN the first one. Mustafa slowly dying, Dr. Evil telling Scott to "Zip it" (Shh! in the original), it's all the same. Then they got rid of Vannesa horribly, trying to pass her off as a Fembot which essentially destroys the first movie (why would they want to get rid of her anyway, I mean, she is FINE!). Taking away Austin's "mojo" leaves him a lifeless character which makes every scene he's in seem to D-R-A-G on forever. Everything that was good about the first movie is lost (except of course for the recycled jokes all through the movie). Had I seen this movie without ever seeing the first, it would have been OK, but between the lifeless Austin, the absence of Vannesa, and the re-used jokes this movie is utterly horrible.

Summary: Blatant Advertisements: Not Good And Not Entirely Funny
Review: This is yet another movie that raises the question in my mind if being funny in a comedy is enough to say that the movie was good. I must reinforce my belief with a,"Hell no." It's important for me to be comfortable that what I am laughing at is not beyond the scope of bad taste and bad art. Isn't what we laugh at as important as how much we laugh. I'll admit that I will laugh at just about anything but that doesn't mean that I think it was any good. "The Spy Who Shagged Me" has some funny gags but that is all the movie is. It is a collection of gags and gimmicks. The advertisements for Heineken and Will Smith projects such as "Independence Day" and the song "Just The Two Of Us" are unacceptable. There are entire scenes that could be cut that would have no effect on the overall outcome at the end of the movie. For the most part the movie could have been made into a short film and it would have had the same outcome. The "Spy Who Shagged Me" is an example of the jokes taking priority to the actual movie itself. Watch SNL if you want to get quick laughs. Don't spend the bucks as I did to see a fly by night sketch fest that this flick is. Save your money and force studios to release funnier movies with better, well planned and detailed stories.

Summary: Commercialized to the max
Review: To start off, i thought this movie was halarious the first time i saw it, even though i did notice a lot of deragatory things to say about it. For one, Heather Graham does a completly horrible acting job in it. She has this blank look on her face through the whole movie, like she's trying to figure out exactly what she's supposed to do. Another thing is that this is the most commercialized movie i have ever seen, about every 10 minutes of the movie some sort of youth oriented product was advertised, like a brand new vw bug time machine, numerous "hot pocket" references, starbucks, hieniken, and many others. It was almost like watching tv, and every so often you get a commercial break. I'll mention that the stupid scene where austin accidentally drinks a cup of Fat Bastards dung is pretty gross and didnt really seem to belong in the movie, I'm sure the big hollywood producers forced it into the movie because of course, any movie in june or july just has to have a few gross-out scenes (when did that start?). But if you liked Dr. Evil like i do, you'll love this movie. Because he simply carries the movie, austin seems more like a supporting character campared to Dr. Evil. Austin seems to be a completly different person than he was in the first film, even his accent sounds different. I think its because austin pretty much shagged himself out in the first one and they can't really find anything else for him to do. But dr.evil is a pretty timeless character, i dont think i could ever get tired of his humor. So if you like austin, dont buy it. But if you like Dr. Evil, grab this thing right now!

Summary: Adult humor lost on target audience--kids don't get it!
Review: There were many hilarious gags for a mature viewer, but I'm afraid the target audience (pre-teens) don't understand some of the sophisticated humor. -- I teach 4th grade, and most of my students know Austin Powers quite well. I still wouldn't recommend the kind of jokes performed here for an audience under 14. -- The DVD has a hilarious track of cameos, scenes blending into one another, all discussing the same thing: the male sex organ. If you like double-entendre, this DVD delivers!

Summary: Unlike the Original, this was lame
Review: Unlike the Original movie, which was great, The Spy Who Shagged Me lacked the quality "edge", if you will, that the First movie mastered so well. The story line was lacking and it had a look of being thrown togather rather haphazardly. To be blunt, my impression was that this movie sequel was simply intended to make money, and not tell a sequel story to the great Austin Powers. I would have thought there would have been a better effort in creating such a sequel to the International Man of Mystery. Stick the Original, which is by far much much better-and funnier.

Summary: Never had mojo to start with
Review: While thoroughly bawdy, the original "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" managed to hold enough charm to be entertaining. Sadly, the same cannot be said for this retreaded story.

There is really nothing new here, and bawdiness for its own sake isn't really funny. What few chuckles there are in the film are more than counterbalaced by groans. Mike Myers does a decent job in protraying multiple characters, but this could have been easily done in a few SNL skits rather than wasting a lot of celluloid footage in the effort.

The somewhat open ending left the possibility of a 3rd Austin Powers. All I can say is I HOPE NOT.

Without a doubt, Wayne's World was MUCH better!

Summary: A mostly DVD review
Review: I loved the first film, I gave it the highest rating. I found this one just replayed the a lot of the old jokes and they just weren't as funny second time around. The DVD seems to have more extras but again I don't think they're as good as the previous DVD. The deleted scenes weren't great and you can tell why they were cut, they aren't that funny. I was really disappointed with the commentary. It too wasn't as funny as previously and seemed a bit forced. I don't like commentary where you don't have to actually watch the film to listen to it, a lot of it was like that. The Dr. Evil biography was funny, but I'd have trouble watching it over and over. The music videos were great, but will you buy a DVD for the music videos? Probably not. I have this in my collection for the few scenes I found funny like the Jerry Springer scene.
