Review: Let's see now, if you are a fan of... er hem... let's say... COMEDY, then you'll love this movie. It is funny. Very very funny. Not only is it funny the first time around, but it has re-watch value as well - there are tons of hilarious little details that you miss the first time (like the fact the Neil is played by a different actor when he first rides up to the camp on the motorcycle). You don't have to be versed in campy late 1970's early 1980's teen films, either - I was born in 1983. See this movie, rent this movie, buy this movie, whatever - just watch it. You won't regret it.

Review: This is easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Was this supposed to be a comedy? I may have smirked once, but I'm not quite sure. Stay Away. If you want a spoof of summer camp movies from the 80's, I recommend watching a summer camp movie from the 80's. Don't bother with this one.

Summary: Comes up a little short..
Review: While this is a great idea for a send-up of summer camp films, it just didn't do it for me. There was extremely funny moments in the film, but by the end I was wondering where the laughs were. It kind of just went poof at the point camp counselor Jeanne Garafalo started calling out Jewish names of kids who had to leave early. I get it. Jewish. Concentration camp. Haha. But, the producers kept hammering that fact home through out the rest of the film.
Some of the comedy goes way out there in bizarro land. Like really bizarre. Just what was the motorcycle running thing? I've seen just about all those goof ball camp flicks from the 70s and 80s but I felt like I missed something in the translation.
I dig the fact that somebody is trying to reinvent comedy films. I could in fact see something coming together, but just where exactly did it go?

Review: This is a great movie. I saw that some people didn't agree and had to set the matter straight. Very funny. You probably have to be of a certain generation, or at least be down with a certain sort of off-the-wall, postmodern humor...but I would suspect in general that Gen Xers with a good sense of humor will LOVE this movie. I did, and so did everyone I know. Pure fun, and extremely clever humor. Brilliant even. (I had to check my memory to confirm that it warrants this - and yes, there are at least a few jokes in there that are positively brilliant, in both conception and execution.)
I saw this movie when it was in the theater, and now that it's out on DVD, I am going to buy it. So there.

Summary: Funniest movie of 2001
Review: This movie rocks! Nothing came out in 2001 that was funnier. American Pie 2 should bow down to this movie. Fans of The State will recgonize the brilliant creative minds behind this movie (Showalter and Wain), plus a few of the cast members (Showalter, Black, Marino and La Truglio). Overall, everyone is funny in this movie, the timing is right on, the storyline is freakin insane, and I love it! Everyone should go out and buy this movie so we can get more films from these guys! Maybe a State reunion! Let's make it happen!

Review: Granted, there are some funny moments in this film, but overall, I absolutely hated it. I really wanted to like this movie. David Wain grew up in a city right next to mine, and it's always great to see someone from this area make it big. But even that couldn't get me to like this film. How could such a great ensemble cast with some good performances come together to make such...? I really don't know. But whatever you do, do not buy this movie. DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

I didnt see this movie in theaters, but i heard about it from an interview with Amy Poehler(Colby, from the upright citizens brigade). Finding out that the funniest woman alive is in a movie, I had to see it (she is the girl with terets in deuce bigalow). I have only downloaded the first half, but that half alone has made me laugh more than any video i have seen before. I highly sugest buying this movie, and if you dont find it to be the funniest movie out then please email with the a movie that is better.

family guy, strangers with candy, the upright citizens brigade, kids in the hall, wild and crazy kids, salute your shorts, the adventures of pete and pete, sifl and ollie, the mighty duck movies, heavyweights, half baked, hot shots part deux, naked gun, little nickey and others. If you dont trust me when i say to buy the movie, please at least rent it

Summary: Excellent comedy with a difference...
Review: I saw this film based on a tiny review I'd read, stating that it was one of the funniest and surprising comedies in years. They were correct! Set at a hormone-drenched summer camp in 1981, the film follows the lives of the counselors and young campers in their quest to 'get it' on the last day of the season. Ripe with music, hairstyles and scenarios lovingly ripped-off from 'Meatballs' and any number of horny teen movies, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a shame nobody heard of this film- it deserves so much more!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any fan of "The State", "Upright Citizens Brigade" and Janeane Garofalo.

Review: If you remember The State (the greatest show MTV has ever aired and possibly the greatest sketch comedy group ever), then you MUST see Wet Hot American Summer! David Wain and Micheal Showalter are the writers, and several former members act in the film! And, its hilarious! It's funnier then any movie this year.
When this movie comes outon dvd/video, buy it in masses so we can get more movies from Wain, Showalter and the rest of these gifted performers!

Summary: LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT
Review: This movie may have had the most contorted mini-plots and the most bizarre shtick, but that is what makes this movie so wonderful. It has great actors in it(ie David Hyde Pierce-one of my personal favorites, janeane garofalo, paul rudd, etc etc.) that work so well together, I would have a hard time believing that they did not find this to be one of the funnest movies to ever work on. It certainly appeared that way. I would recommend this movie 1000 times over, my only criticism being that it played for such a short amount of time and at so few theaters...GO SEE IT
