Summary: Really cute send up of fashion industry...
Review: It's not plot heavy or brainy, just a cute comedy that makes you suspect Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson have read too many Cosmo and Vanity Fair interviews of female Super Models assuming that and explaining why they're so great, and not just because "they're incredibly good-looking." Watching these guys imitate the mannerisms and trite speech of these most, uh, vacuous of celebrities is hilarious. Look for Wilson as supermodel Hansel dressed as an angel at the VH1 awards trying to emote his awareness and spirituality and don't forget to note the incredible differences between Zoolander's copyrighted "looks" like "Blue Steel" and the much awaited "Magnum."

Summary: SOOOOOOOOOO Funny
Review: This was a really funny move - Ben Stiller is great as a dim-witted male model, and Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, Will Ferrel and Jerry Stillher are a wonderfully hilarious supporting cast.

Summary: A classic of Cinema Stupidite.
Review: If the movies are to be believed, stupid people have insights into society that the rest of us just aren't privy to. Films such as DUMB & DUMBER, DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR?, BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD DO AMERICA, and the Bill & Ted series show us people who are intellectually ill-equipped to deal with society, yet somehow, in their ignorance and naivete, end up on top of the heap.

Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) starts out on top of the heap: he's the most successful male model in America, but his career is on the wane, being quickly eclipsed by upstart model Hansel (Owen Wilson). When a tragic gasoline-fight accident kills Derek's three roommates, he decides the time has come to retire.

This leads directly into the film's over-the-top MANCHURIAN-CANDIDATE-style political assassination plot, but the real fun here is in the characters rather than the story.

As the story unfolds, characters who were sold to us as stupid turn out to have a certain savvy and a flair for living that transcends intelligence, which is really the message of all the films in this "genre:" ignorance is indeed bliss, and what's important is knowing that you have a place in the world even if you don't understand what it is.

Derek's triumph is strange and appropriate to the film, and we all get an opportunity to wonder why people are so quick to judge; just because you can't see or comprehend someone's finest talent, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

An enjoyable effort from Ben Stiller (who also directed), but certainly not for everyone--if, for you, stupid characters make for a stupid movie, this is one you should pass on. If you're interested in the keen insight into society that the eyes of those less intellectually-gifted can bring, this one stands tall in the chain of films that carry that message. It's certainly no BEING THERE, but it's fun, and, if nothing else, it will make you think about not being able to think.

Summary: One LOOOONG Joke.
Review: That's the problem with this film. It has its moments but they are few and far between. It is really just the same joke over and over. Owen Wilson was funny at times, but overall this was a waste of time. The idea of satirizing the fashion industry is a good one, but does not maintain momentum over a full length feature film. Is anyone really surprised by this!?

Summary: Funny in a stupid way
Review: I really, really didn't want to see this movie. I don't think Ben Stiller is that funny, and I didn't think the concept was all that great. But my wife talked me into it, and I'm glad she did. All things considered, this movie was very entertaining.

Ben Stiller puts on a great performance as Derek Zoolander, and does it well. He's stupid, but not TOO stupid. Throw in Owen Wilson (quickly becoming the king of braindead roles) and you have quite the duo. With a part for Ben's dad and also a role for Will Farrell as the bad guy, you have an good cast that works very well together.

Of course, you shouldn't think this movie is going to have a plot, or even a direction of any kind. Brace yourself for stupid jokes, and corny developments. But, if this is what you've come to expect in a comedy, you'll definitely not want to miss this one. I'm glad I didn't.

Summary: Dumb funny
Review: This movie may not appeal to everyone, but it certainly appealed to me. Ben Stiller plays a male model by the name of Derek Zoolander, and Will Ferrel plays evil fashion designer Mugatu. Mugatu hypnotizes Derek and tries to get him to kill the prime minister of Malaysia. The voice Stiller uses while playing Zoolander alone is enough to make you laugh, throw in some great jokes and Jerry Stiller and you've got a nice comedy.

Summary: A great comedy that explores a forgotten world -Male Models
Review: This is the best movie that I have seen with Ben Stiller and I love that he directed it as well. There aren't many movies that talk about male modeling, in fact I can't think of any others. I want to give credit to both Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, they made great models, each playing them dumb but still loveable. They are a great many moments that I could talk about, the award show, the miner montage, and the fashion show, but my favorite part of the film in the gas fight with Derick's male model roomates. Also I need to give A LOT of credit to Will Ferrell, Mugatu was GREAT to say the least. I don't think there is a person out there that can play a comic bad guy better than he can. The only performance that I did not love was that of Christine Taylor, Ben's wife. She doesn't seem to care for any of the other people in the film and she just seems to be reading her lines. But everyone else more than makes up for her.
This film is not one to pick if you put thought into your movies. But if you enjoy escaping into a world of make believe then this is the right one for you. After a stressful week this is the movie that I watch to relax and laugh with. I know that it will do the same for you.

Summary: Review from Outer Space
Review: We Andromedians loved this film!

We feel that earth has become much too serious and we recommend this film especially at this time when earth could use a laugh!

In our 6th dimensional workplace, we often quoted favorite lines with our peers. Those of us who already like Stiller and Wilson especially enjoyed it. All but the most cynical or fashion-illiterate had a good time.

Summary: Daft & Vain!!!
Review: Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) is the number one male model in the world and he is a personification of daftness and vanity. He is exactly what Mugatu (Will Ferrell) wants for his new mission, which is to brainwash someone to assassinate Malaysia's Prime Minister. Zoolander is a film that actively flirts with the audience through its intentionally dim-witted comments by Zoolander and his colleagues. The film brings the audience an absurdity that raises above almost everything that has been accomplished before Zoolander. In the end, everyone should know the description for daftness and vanity.

Summary: Funniestmovie since Dumb & Dumber
Review: This is one of the best movies since Dumb & Dumber and that is ALOT to say. I really like this movie its one of those you can watch over and over again. I wouldn't buy it from here because the price is bad and you have to pay for shipping. A couple of the deleted scenes are funny. I know it sounds weird being about male models and stuff but after I saw it is was really funny. See it. See it!
