Summary: ridiculously good movie!
Review: I saw previews of this movie and thought that it looked really stupid. Well, to my surprise the opposite was true! Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are great in this movie! Ben Stiller has got to be one of the most underappreciated actors of our time. He is multi-talented and gets little recognition for it. I love Ben's facial expressions and his weird voice. I thought the walk-off scene was pretty stupid though.... other than that, this movie was great. It is a stupid comedy, not something that all people will like but I think it's worth your time to watch. The DVD also comes with some funny clips such as a scene where ben stiller is talking to zoolander and Zoolander says something to the effect of"oh you use those big words just because you graduated from 'high school'" Ben responds "enough" Zoolander says, "Oh now you're making up words!" I loved this movie and I highly recommend it!

Summary: Better than I thought!
Review: THE FILM: I rented Zoolander hearing it was very, very good, even better than Meet the Parents. Now, I don't think that's quite true, but Zoolander comes close.
Ben Stiller is hilarious as Derek Zoolander, a very stupid "male model" with some stupid friends. (Example: his friends get in a fight at a gas station, pouring gasoline on each other- guess what happens) Owen Wilson is also great as Hansel, a very hippie-philisophical male model that threatens Derek's career. I found myself laughing over and over again, especially at the hilarious character Mugatu. This is a good movie, generally underrated and completely original.

Summary: Ridiculously good-looking, but a little silly....
Review: "Zoolander" is one of those movies that cause people to respond in one of two ways: "Dude, that was really funny!" or "Dude, that was so stupid!" I was actually on the in-between. I really found some parts of the movie hilarious (the gasoline fiasco set to Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go"), but other bits I found annoying and far-fetched. Even though the character of Derek Zoolander is good-hearted enough, is he really that dumb? Does he really not know how to spell "day?" Many of the laugh-free moments come from his stupidity being pounded into the heads of the viewer. We get it, okay?
It's strange for a movie to pair an assassination plot with the world of modeling. Usually when a TV character appears in a sketch or a cartoon, the only thing that writers can think to do when bringing them to the big screen is to involve them in a plot in which they help save the world. Does this make Zoolander unoriginal? Some would say no. After all, it is the first time we see a male model try to save the world, right?
But this movie did offer some good comedy in the form of a rivalry between Ben Stiller's Zoolander and Owen Wilson as fellow model Hansel (he's so hot right now!). Their run-in at the Vogue Fashion Awards and their runway walk competition are hysterical. One would expect Stiller to be the star of this film, but Wilson tends to outshine him in many instances.
Will Ferrell is wacky, and just plain strange, as the evil Mugatu. Beware: he may start to get on your nerves after a while. Christine Taylor lends some sanity to the bunch as Matilda, but is underplayed by the less intelligent characters. How can one take her seriously amidst such goofballs? Expect many cameos by "good-looking" celebrities. This idea has become a staple for comedies like Zoolander (i.e. Austin Powers in Goldmember).
The DVD offers a HILARIOUS menu and some other good stuff (deleted scenes, commentary). The best part is the two original skits from the VH1 Fashion Awards. They are good parodies, and they were extra funny when they debuted in 1996/1997 when the world was more focused on fashion and modeling. One of the reasons this movie may not work for some is that now, people don't concentrate on either of those aforementioned subjects too often. They have more important things to worry about. Maybe this movie was just made a few years too late.

Summary: WONDERFULLY WACKY SATIRE OF THE NEW YORK FASHION INDUSTRY...
Review: This film is a zany, funny, irreverent look at the materialistic, superficial, and shallow fashion world. Seen through the eyes of the dense and singleminded male model, Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), it slyly pokes fun at all that the fashion world holds dear. Zoolander, a three time winner of the male model of the year award, goes up against the new kid in town, Hansel (Owen Wilson), and much to his amazement has his crown taken from him. No longer the toast of the town and already yesterday's news, Zoolander falls prey to the dastardly machinations of acclaimed fashion designer, Mugatu (Will Ferrell), and his evil sidekick, Katinka (Milla Jovovich). It seems that Mugatu and Katinka want to turn Zoolander into an unwitting assassin whose killing frenzy will be triggered by hearing certain words of a song. In order to keep Mugatu's sweatshops running at full throttle, they hope to rid themselves of the prime minister of Malaysia, who is planning on abolishing child labor. An intelligent and intrepid reporter, Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor), who is also Zoolander's love interest, realizes, however, that something amiss is afoot. Before you know it, bitter rivals Zoolander and Hansel are joined in battle against the forces of evil. This is a hilarious and silly spoof that is sure to make the viewer rock and roll with laughter. Ben Stiller is hysterical as the dumber than dumb Zoolander, who struggles to find meaning in his life after his modeling career tanks. Owen Wilson is absolutely endearing as Zoolander's equally dense rival, Hansel. David Duchovny has a small, but memorable, role as J.P. Prewitt, a former hand model. Jon Voight is funny as Larry Zoolander, Derek's macho, coal miner father, who is mortified by his effeminate looking son and his chosen occupation. Jerry Stiller, Ben's real life father, has a pivotal role as Maury Ballstein, head of the Balls Modeling Agency, who claims to love Zoolander as a son but sells him down river anyway, when the chips are down. Ben's real life mom, Anna Meara, has a very small part in the film, as does his real life sister, Amy. Cameos by celebrities who play themselves abound in this film. Look for Donatella Versace, Winona Ryder, Billy Zane, Claudia Schiffer. Gary Shandling, "Lil Kim. Sandra Bernhard, David Bowie, Fabio, Lenny Kravitz, and Donald Trump, just to name a few. If you are a fan of the Saturday Night Live show, Mad TV, and Comedy Central, then you will, undoubtedly, enjoy this original, silly, satiric, and thoroughly funny and irreverent spoof of the New York fashion scene.

Summary: Hilarious
Review: Consistently amusing if slightly less than great, "Zoolander" successfully mocks the histrionics of high fashion. That's quite an achievement, considering the industry is so absurd as to be almost beyond parody. Stiller and Wilson are magnificent as the models - that they are both so weird-looking yet strangely convincing demonstrates that most models are more bizarre than beautiful. Stiller's father as Maury Ballstein and Will Ferrell as the hysterical Mugato steal the few scenes they're in. This is fast, fun and not quite forgettable.

Review: When I saw the previews for this movie I was skeptical.
The highlights looked funny but made me wonder if the highlights were the only funny parts. Well, the movie is hilarious. Stiller is great. To me, it ranks right up there with Austin Powers and I hope there is another one. Buy it. Watch it over and over again and you'll laugh every time. Will Ferrell is perfect, Owen Wilson is great and the two leading women {Chris Taylor and Milla Jovovich) are incrediby good looking....

Summary: Slyer than you think
Review: I loved the inventiveness of this movie. On one level, it's superficial fluff. On another level, there are sly little parodies of Rocky, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Coal Miner's Daughter, The Manchurian Candidate, Fight Club, and others I probably missed. Worth it solely to see Will Ferrell, hysterical as designer Mugatu, saying "That Hansel, he's really hot right now" every time Owen Wilson crosses his path.

Summary: Genius comedic film!
Review: While looking through the reviews of this film, i saw mainly 5's and 1's. I assume that the people who gave it a low rating didn't understand the humor in it. zoolander has so many miniscule jokes in it (like how derek zoolander messes up big words) that it would be easy to miss. everything in it is humorous--the script, the body language, the plot... it keeps you laughing for a lifetime! i find myself quoting little parts to match any situation.

Review: This has to be by far the best movie done by Ben stiller. He is hilarious as he plays a 3 time winner of model of the year award. His major arrival, Hanzel (Owen Wilson)both battle it out on a walkway, there are break dancing fights, and there are plenty of ben stillers looks. I prefer the Blue steal look. Will ferrel is also hilrious as he plays mugato. This is one of those kinds of movies u can watch over and over again and still thinks its funny. u either love it or u hate it....
