Summary: Mel Brooks' very worst film
Review: I think I chuckled ONCE during this movie, during the Spanish Inquisition swimming pool parody. Mel Brooks has done much better & funnier stuff with "Young Frankenstein" & "Blazing Saddles." What the hell happened to him? This movie is a travesty & an absolute embarrassment!!!!!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A Very Unfunny Movie!!!
Review: This Movie Really SUCKS!!! It Was So Unfunny I Had To Turn It Of In 5 Minutes!!! I Don't Recomend This To Anyone,Or You Will Be Bored To Death!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best movie of the century.
Review: Very funny, keeps you rolling the whole movie. One of Mel Brooks finest pieces of work. It is only second to spaceballs. If only Mel would make part 2.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT MOVIE!!!!
Review: BUY IT, RENT IT, JUST SEE IT AND U WILL LOVE IT! IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT! REALLY!!!

Summary: Brooks' finest work!!!
Review: I don't know how else to put it. Mel Brooks is just sheer genius. Period. This film is so good, I wonder if it just might pass up Blazing Saddles, (probably not). From the Dawn of Man to the French Revolution, from the Stone Age to the Spanish Inquisition, from the Old Testement to the Roman Empire, Mel Brooks gives us a 92 minute lesson in history, the way that it never happened! As I said before, Mel Brooks is a comic genius. First, hes able to direct such an inferior movie, second, he wrote the screenplay, and third, he still had enough room for 5 whopping roles in the film!!! This film has many familiar faces like Mel Brooks, (Blazing Saddles, Silent Movie, High Anxiety), Madiline Khan (Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles), Harvey Korman, (Blazing Saddles), and Dom DeLuise, (Silent Movie). Mel Brooks gang pulls it off again with hilarious slapstick, and some out-of-date humor, (like Las Vegas' Caeser's Palace). There's a lot to laugh at, and you won't be dissapointed. Very little of the humor is dry, but a majority of them hit their marks. A very etertaining movie. A must see.

Summary: Classic Mel Brooks!
Review: Before there was "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" Mel Brooks came out with "History of the World Pt.1".A funny and original film about the history we never really learned in school.Hilarious, clever and full of one-liners, this movie has all the qualities of a Brooks comedy.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A very very very funny film
Review: Mel Brooks has made some great comedies, and this is one of his best (though I think that "Blazing Saddles" rules.) The joint scene and the king sequence takes the cake. Unfortunately, it drags terribly in some spots, and the Spanish Inquisition scene is in fact horrible. But, to each his own- a good film overall, but he's done better

Summary: It's Good to be the King!
Review: I own this movie. I watch it almost every week. I cry my eyes out every time because I am laughing so hard. In my opinion, this is the greatest movie of all time. It is so unbelievably funny. It deserves a heck of a lot more than five stars. If you like laughing, can get the jokes, and are intelligent then you will love this Classic. I guarantee it!

Summary: the best mockery of history i've ever seen
Review: from the ancient world to the french revolution there isn't much defenestration and yet it still makes me laugh. there is some really bad acting, but hey it makes it even beter. and the spanish inquisition song is the greatest thing i've ever heard, it is better than anything metalica has done. i take it with me everywhere i go and am constantly watvhing it whenever there is an available vcr. i am just looking forward to seeing hitler on ice and jews in space....

Summary: Brooks is at his best!
Review: This movie was absoloutely hilarious! From the Roman Empire scene where they defeat the Royal Guards by getting them high, to the French Revolution, it's non stop laughs. The Spanish Inquisition is by far the best. It's done like a broadway musical complete with synchronized swimmers. Must see!
