Summary: Taffeta, Darling...
Review: In every pastor, priest or rabbi is one great sermon, in every writer one great book, in every film maker one truly great film. Young Frankenstein is Mel Brooks' finest work, with flawless writing, direction and acting from all involved. Guaranteed laughs from the master of comedy!

"Pardon me boy, is this the Transylvania Station?"
"Ya, ya, track 69. Can I give you a shine?"

This film is best enjoyed with a room full of friends or family. Invite everyone over and share the good lines as you enjoy the movie together! ("Put...the candle...back!") A timeless classic that belongs in every video library.

"What knockers!"
"Why, sank you doc-tor!"

Summary: What knockers!
Review: A few months ago I had the pleasure of seeing a friend snort his drink through his nose in laughter because of this movie. We were in a party and an acquaintance introduced his new girlfriend and I said under my breath "What knockers!". Obviously my friend is also a fan of this movie.

If you have not seen it I envy the laughter that awaits you. See it soon.

Review: I saw this movie as a teenager and I went and saw it over and over again. I met my husband and we quoted lines from this movie and I knew I had found my soulmate. He was a true fan as I was.
Mel Brooks is the man.

Summary: Frankenstein is too funny!
Review: This is one of the funniest movies ever made. The jokes and funny lines are truly memorable. It's also a great family movie. This is one to own so that it can watched over and over again.

Summary: Classic horror spoof
Review: A relative of the original Dr. Frankenstein becomes heir to his ancestor's work in this hilarious spoof of the classic horror film. Mel Brooks is generally overrated as a filmmaker, and Gene Wilder's later films failed to deliver many laughs. However, this collaboration shows the genius they are capable of in the right circumstances. The cast is excellent and the choice to shoot in black and white was inspired.

Summary: HaHaHaHa!
Review: What a laugh..... I've seen this movie so many times.... It's still fun to watch. Mel Brooks did the right thing to film it in B & W. Color would have taken away the whole idea.

This flick is great. So many little scenes going on.... Everyone knows the story of Frankenstein, but this one adds a comic twist. From stealing the bodies, to meeting the local town constable, to stealing the brain.... "It could be worse, it could be raining...." Ha!

Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman are great!

This is a good one to just have around. You can take it out and show it to people and everyone starts laughing and smiling. What a classic....

Review: "If your blue and you don't know where to go to why don't ya go were fashion fits..." YOUNG FRANKESTEIN has got to be the original no point make you laugh til your sides hurt, no brainer movie ever made. If not the first, most definatley the best!

Gene Wilder plays Froaderick Fronkensteen, the grandson of Veektor Frankenstein. Although he bears the name, Frederick feels, "My Grandfather's work was DOO DOO!" He struggles against all those around him to allow his name be recognized for his work as a brillant neoursurgeon. Unfortunatley the young doctor is up against a brilliant foe. "Destiny, Destiny no escaping that for me!"

Frederick leaves his lovely fiance Elizabeth, played by the marvelous Madeline Kahn, to inherit his grandfather's estate. There he meets interesting charecters, Inga, his laboratory assitant, Igor his faithful servant, and Frau Blujer. Watch the movie and you will fall in love with each of these charecters.

Young Frankenstein was one of the early movies for a host of brilliant actors. Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Gene Hackman, Marty Feldman and of course Madeline Kahn all starred or appeared in Young Frankestein early in their careers.

If you love spoofs like Robin Hood Men in Tights, Dracula Dead and Loving it and Blazing Saddles. You will adore Young Frankenstein

Summary: Buy it for the Director's Commentary!
Review: Unless you've lived in a cave for 25 years, you've seen this movie and don't need to read a "review" of it...but the DVD offers a few scenes never before released [it's fascinating to see 'new' footage of such a familiar old friend].
What makes the DVD worth the price, even if you already own a VHS copy, is the Director's commentary version with voice-over by Mel Brooks. Brooks tells anecdotes about some of the minor players, behind-the-scenes facts about the problems in shooting a particular scene, and sometimes just laughs at the jokes.
The commentary version of a DVD is usually better left unviewed-but this one is like having a private screening of the movie with Brooks himself.
