Summary: Hillarious
Review: This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The movie that invented the rockumenary is here to stay.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A MUST HAVE
Review: "...how much more black can it be? And the answer is, 'none more black.'" "It's like a black mirror...you can see yourself in both sides." Do yourself a favor and get this. It is truly a bargain on DVD - the outtakes are PRICELESS!

Summary: the best (or worst, depending!!!!) of the medium
Review: This Is Spinal Tap, The Collector's edition, offers the best of what the DVD medium is intended to deliver. More than a film, it is an interactive viewing experience. The inclusion of directorial and "Tap" comments as well as hours of interactive additional footage and commentary brings the "Tap" experience to life...bigger and badder than ever.

Summary: Eleven stars
Review: Criterion continues to astound movie lovers with each and every addition to their laser catalog. While some may wonder why "This is Spinal Tap" belongs in the Criterion roster, anyone who's seen the flick can tell you that no collection is complete without it. Although this isn't the 4-1/2 hour version, the inclusion of 75 minutes of cutting room gems make this DVD a necessary purchase. Moreover, the 2 commentaries open whole new dimensions to a film that already works on so many levels.

Summary: Criterion does it again.
Review: Just about anybody reading this review has probably seen "This is Spinal Tap" as many times as the band has changed drummers. What you really want to know is whether the DVD extras are worth the price. YES. Theatrical trailers about cheese rolling festivals, David St. Hubbins with strait hair in an early short that eventually evolved into the film, Rob Reiner begging people to show the movie in their theaters, deleted scenes that develop and explain the cold sores the band keeps ending up with, and the bloody demise of Janine (well, we can dream can't we?) all this and more can be yours for the low low price of...whatever. Anyway, if you're a Tap fan and you've got a DVD player, get this disc. If you're a Tap fan and you've got this disc, get a DVD player. If you're a Tap fan without the disc or a DVD player, talk your rich buddy with all the cool home theater equipment into buying this disc, then watch it at his place and eat all the potato chips in the house. If you're not a Tap fan, you can get a copy of "The Sound of Music" around here somewhere, I'm pretty sure. I've always thought of Derrick Smalls as kind of a short hairy version of Julie Andrews anyway.

Summary: A fascinating look at one of Britain's loudest bands!
Review: Few people would dispute the fact that Spinal Tap is one of the world's greatest rock bands. This video chronicles the band's rise to world domination and is a must-own for any Tap fan. As director Marti DiBergi said, this film captures "the sights, the sounds....the smells of a hard-working rock band on the road." Vive le Spinal Tap!!!

Summary: The funniest movie of the Century
Review: I think this is theatrical genius. I laughed for hours and had the chance to see the band Live in Seattle. I think anyone who hasn't seen this movie needs to check it out.

Summary: This DVD is a must buy
Review: The Criterion release of Spinal Tap on DVD is worth the extra few bucks. The 16mm film looks MUCH better than it should in this transfer, and the soundtrack gets a new Dolby surround mix (but no 5.1). The disc is PACKED with extras, including over an hour of deleted scenes (VERY entertaining), the original 20 minute demo film they used to sell the picture, and tons of trailers (which are as good as the film), production notes and pictures, and TWO commentary tracks (one by the filmmakers, the other by the 'band').BUY IT!

Summary: Smell the Glove... over and over again.
Review: After you have watched all of the other pansy movies, and decide, "you've seen enough of that one", watch the legandary Spinal Tap. If this movie dosn't part your hair, you should see it again. I highly recommend this film to anybody who is looking for a really funny and clever film

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It's an 11!
Review: The movie deserves it own scale. Most scales stop at 10, but "This is Spinal Tap" goes to 11. END
