Summary: Ni!
Review: Holy Grail hasn't looked so good in many years. With "restored footage" of about 10 seconds in Castle Anthrax, nothing is really added much or lost. The Commentary tracks are interesting as the cast recorded it in two groups. For that, it makes the Special Edition excellent.

As far as other special features go... well.... um... you sort of need to see them for yourself, but if you are a fan of Python, you will appreciate them. There's a nice documentary of them visiting sites, and some other people's interpretaions of some scenes, as well as a singalong. I did enjoy the Lego version of "Knights of the Round Table".

Summary: Hail to the King
Review: My God this film is hilarious. It's set in the most beautiful locations in Scotland amidst Celtic and Anglo-Saxon castles that inspire awe and majesty, and then you've got this group of Cambridge educated lunatics prancing around banging coconuts together and talking about the air-speed velocity of European swallows. Classic scenes: First, the peasant scene at the start in which King Arthur 'harasses' the filthy peasants, who if you look at them are literally on their hands and knees shovelling muck for no apparent reason. 2nd, the 'Bring out your dead' scene. When King Arthur 'rides' past and the guy says to Eric Idle (the bring out your dead pushcart guy), man - "Who's that", Eric - "must be a king", man - "how d'you know he's a king", Eric - "he hasn't got... all over him". 3rd classic scene, the cowardly Sir Robin song. 4th classic scene, the scene where John Cleese (can't remember whether he's Sir Galahad or Sir Lancelot) attacks that castle and slashes, maims and kills everything in his path, from guards and soldiers, to women, children and midgets. Plus many more classic scenes. Watch this and 'The Life of Brian'. 2 classics of comedy.

Review: Oh, you don't need a review, do you?

It's the HOLY GRAIL, for Pete's sake!

The extras are great, too, so make sure you get the special edition. My favorite bit is the Knights of Camelot dance, complete with lyrics at the bottom of the screen so you can finally learn the words! Amaze your friends!

Definitely worth buying the DVD, even if you have the movie on tape already.

Summary: This movie should be in any comedy lover's collection!
Review: I rented this movie on my mom's advice (the PG rated version, I still can't see the R rated one for obvious reasons) she said it was great, I wasn't so sure. But when I watched it I found that it is a masterpiece! It is hilarious and it will keep you laughing every minute!
I highly recommend it to anyone except maybe very young kids (about 8 and under) because it has some humor that may not be suitable for them. Otherwise it is wonderful.

Summary: BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!!
Review: MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL is a comedy classic that is in a league all by itself. The FAB SIX of comedy put their take on the Arthurian legend with outrageous humor both visually slapstick and a script to tickle the ear. Expanding their classic television show into a movie and having each of the troup taking on numerous parts, this is a comedy for both Python lovers and people not familiar with Python. With the opening scene of King Arthur galloping, with his "patsy" banging coconut shells to make the sounds of a horse trotting, viewers know they are along for a very irreverent ride. Each of the Pythons take on the roles of the different Knights of the Round Table and their different adventures on trying to find the elusive HOLY GRAIL. Each individual adventure is hilarious and even more hilarious when they meet up to band together in their "sacred quest". There are too many classic scenes to point out, because the film is all over the place and there is no slow or unfunny moments. There are musical numbers, illogical logic, thrown about animals, secrets revealed about the African and European Swallow, nasty French Knights, Knights who say "Ni!",shrubberies, dismemberments, and political humor to satisfy all sorts of comedy tastes. This is probably one of the best comedies ever made. The Special Edition DVD has all the bells and whistles including two sets of audio commentaries pairing members of the Python troup, and there is a great segment included in which Terry Jones and Micheal Palin visit some of the original site locations used in the film. Note: Classic Line - (King to Son looking out the castle window)- "Someday all this will be yours...", (Son to King) "What, the curtains?"

Summary: THE funniest movie ever!
Review: First of all, I'd like to say that if I were rating the movie itself and not the DVD...It would get 5 stars hands down. Monty Python and the Hold Grail is by far the funniest movie ever. There is no other franchise in history that could pull off having a bloody knight with no limbs, or a French taunter without just being ridiculously un-funny. Monty Python gets the job done perfectly and should be seen by all. Ok, now back to the DVD. There are a bunch of special features, but for the most part they're long, drawn out, and not funny. But that's ok...they're just extras. The problem that I have with the DVD itself is that it doesn't play correctly (or at all) on some DVD players. The encoding is just a little off. But the amount of improvement in the quality of the picture and sound are great, and all in all it's a great DVD thatI'd recommend to just about anyone!

Summary: the DVD with the extra extras
Review: Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a hilarious movie. However, most people consider the movie to be either a classic or crap. So, although you will probably consider this movie to be a classic, you may not like it at all. However, if you have seen this movie previously or have seen other work by Monty Python, and you are considering whether to buy the DVD or the video, buy the DVD. You not only get to watch the movie, but the extras are the best, funniest, and most plentiful of any DVD I have ever seen. The most notable extras are the theatrical trailer, the Lego "Camelot" scene, and the educational video on how to use coconuts. Without a doubt, it is worth the extra money.

Summary: A moose once bit my sister.. No realli!
Review: You can not be a fan of comedy and certainly not a Python fan without owning this DVD. From the hilarious subtitles in the opening credits to the abrupt and unfinished ending, the movie is a classic. The DVD is one of the best I've seen out there, offering tons of extras you have to own. If you've ever wondered just what to do with your coconuts, or you have dreams about "The Knights of the Round Table" in Legos, this is your special day. And, heck, if you never thought any of those things, get "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" anyways.
