Summary: Simply one of the FUNNIEST comedies of all time!
Review: Not necessarily the greatest comedy of all time, but just laugh-out-loud funny from start to finish. And this from someone who is not a big Monty Python fanatic! From the crazed Black Knight, to the killer rabbit, the inventiveness and fun that comes across on-screen is almost non-stop. I may run the risk of sounding like a shill, but if you haven't yet seen this movie, and would like nothing more than ninety minutes of laugh-provoking fun, then please give this one a try. Although few who have seen it on my recommendation may not have found it quite as funny as I do, nobody has ever come back to me and said that they didn't find it entertaining and fun. An all-time personal favorite, but that is just one man's humble opinion. Enjoy It!

Review: This movie is great laughs for anyone who likes the kind of humor that is so stupid that it's funny. I like the part when Sir Robin is being annoyed by his minstrels singing what I call "The Sir Robin Song". I also really like the part when the knights meet the knights who say nee. A truly hillarious movie that will make you crack up until an african sparrow drops a coconut on your head.

Review: The repressed peasant, Sir Robin's minstrels, the three questions (by the way, what's YOUR favorite color?) -- who could possible pick one favorite bit? It still cracks me up, but now I also have the pleasure of anticipating the funniest parts, especially the throw-away lines. You have to pay close attention to catch them all!

Summary: Silly, ribald, hilarious and also disappointing
Review: Who better than to raise silliness and slapstick to a high art form than Monty Python? "The Holy Grail" gets off to a good start with a very funny exchange between King Arthur and some guards on a castle rampart and from there, things get even funnier. The animation is also great and it is true to the standards of the old Monty Python TV series. The troupe's acting in the film is very good and it too is equal to what Python fans have come to know and love. Unfortunately, in watching the movie, one gets the feeling that all the scenes are nothing more than individual skits and while they're very funny, they also keep the film from being cohesive. The ending is very stupid and you get the feeling the Python gang ran out of ideas and just wanted to get the whole thing done and over with. This movie makes a better rental than a purchase but if you're a true fan of Python humor then you will probably want to add this to your video collection.

Review: The DVD release of this movie has great picture quality compared to the VHS version. They did a good job of producing vivid colors and sharp constrast. I was hoping for more "extras" however. But, for the true fan, the movie is enough.
