Summary: Head broke new ground
Review: When the lads decided to make their now famous movie it was in order to destroy their "bubble gum" immage (hence the concert scene). For the modern day film industry HEAD is still a cult movie.Not so much of their slapstick humour was used as it would have made it seem just like their T.V show. Directed by a young Jack Nicholson,Head combined all the popular types of movies for the decade.My favorite line from the movie would have to be "Monkees is the craziest people"(the cow). This movie is a must see for any serious Monkees fan(pity there was not a sequel-oh well one day maybee).Adefinite 10/10.Keep groovin Monkees fans. "Webbo"

Review: In my review about the Head cd I talk about 2 of the funniest scenes ever. Nobody mentioned the talking cow saying "Monkees is the craziest People!" I'M crazy myself,duh! Annette, a former mouseketeer is in this film, too! The reason why it's a funny story is because it doesn't make sense and it's weird. Who cares if it wasn't a big success? IT WAS COOL! by the way "Nobody ever lends money to a man with a sense of humor is not very true.

Summary: Head out, headstrong, headlong, "Head" over heels
Review: The Monkees. 1968. ('Nuff said, eh?) I first saw "Head" around 1980 under the influence. I saw it again recently not under the influence. Ah, the memories of my youth. "Head" still holds up. What other movie makes me say constantly "this is superb" and "is this superb?" It's "a series of vignettes," to be sure, albeit psychedelic vignettes. Maybe it's like "Yellow Submarine" but with real people. A little deeper than the TV show. And the cameos! Frank Zappa, Victor Mature, Annette Funicello, Sonny Liston, Carol Doda, Dennis, Jack, and Bob... First view might be a tad overwhelming, but when you recall certain scenes the next day you'll "get" them. Of its time, but less dated than some. And surprisingly light-footed in its "message." Which is nice. Psychedelic? perhaps. Baloney, perhaps not. One big day-glo thumb pointed to the circle sky. N.B.: Davy's chorus in "Porpoise Song" is one of his finest moments. Attaboy, Mike!

Summary: AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE
Review: One of the best movies of the 60s.Thats it plain and simple.DO NOT expect a Monkees episode,you will be greatly disappionted.This is a freeform story of the groups struggle out of the plasticity of thier t.v.image.It contains some of the wildest satirical ideas the monkees ever created.I cant tell you much about the plot because frankly there isn`t one,just a loose collection of hilarious sketches until its over.It also contains thier best music of the time.Now i`m not knocking the t.v.show.I firmly believe that without thier show MTV would not exist(whether this is good or bad i`m still not sure.)Im sorry,I`m rambling,anyway,if you like the monkees or non-narritive film or just want to see some lovely shirts worn by Peter Tork,you can`t go wrong wiht HEAD

Review: Once their successful TV series ended, and they began to write their own albums, the Monkees birthed this trippy, psychedelic version of their show; the movie is filled with bizarre skits, set-ups, and flashbacks which are woven into a spare, linear plot. Watch this movie for its historical value -- Jack Nicholson as screenwriter and cameo actor. For its really cool "Porpoise Song". For its "in" jokes and hippie appeal. Watch it right before (or right after) the Magical Mystery Tour and the Rock & Roll Circus.

Summary: Bustin' Out of That Barrel
Review: First off, I've been a die-hard Monkees fan for a couple of decades, so keep this in mind when you read the next few lines of my review. This film is a heavy-duty dose of THE MONKEES, but out of the serial half-hour barrel for which they are best known and loved. The brief glimpse of the younger Jack Nicholson in this film is literally a glimpse into the future. And the 'Porpoise Song' on the soundtrack is, frankly, one of the group's FINEST achievements. If you love the Monkees like I do, you already own a copy of this film. If you're not a die-hard fan of this legendary group, then this film will provide profundity and depth to your standard one-dimensional home viewing collection. Highest possible recommendation.

Summary: Long Awaited Understanding...
Review: I have been watching the Monkees since age 5 and I can honestly say that this is their best piece of work...You MUST be a die hard Monkees fan to fall in love with it like I did, however. Or...On acid...This movie takes you on a twisty ride, one that you wanna go on over and over again to catch the gist of the message...The truth is in this video..It just depends on whether or not you wanna find it.

Summary: Movie Review
Review: I loved "Head" but it was hard to figure out, because it had no plot to it. I loved the songs and the psychadelic look during "Porpoise Song" and "Long Title: Do I have to do This All Over Again." My favorite part was the Coke Machine because it was hilarious! It's a must for Monkee Fans however, but it just doesn't make sense.
