Summary: Laugh Alone or in Company
Review: This is a side-splitting comedy with, naturally, touches of tenderness. It is simply hilarious how the burglars were unsuccessfully trying to victimize Macaulay Culkin. I guess people just like to see bad guys get hurt and look foolish. Does it mean that people are cruel? Don't ask me. All I know is that it looks funny in a movie. The romp around the house is the most memorable sequence in this film, and every time I watch, it looks funny. This original is better than the "Lost in New York" sequel, and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Kevin MCalister left home alone by his family.
Review: Home Alone stars Macaulay Culkin. As the film opens, the McCallisters are going on a trip to Paris, France. They have ordered pizzas. On the sign on the car, if the pizza place doesn't deliver in 20 minutes you don't have to pay.Kevin only likes chesse pizza. His older brother tells him the plain chesse is gone. So Kevin runs into is older brother named Buzz (Devin Ratray). And the pass ports to Paris gets wet. (watch to see how the pass ports gets wet). Kevin's mother named Kate (Caterine O'Hara) sends him to the attic. During the night a problem happens, and Kate's arlam clock goes out. And the MacCallisters sleep in. When the ride to the airport shows up the MacCallisters rush around the house. But while this is going on Kevin is still sleeping. How could he sleep though this? By the time Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) wakes up his whole family is not there. The movie aslo has from Uncle Buck the late John Candy as the polk king of the midwest named Gus Polinski. My thoughts on Home Alone: First I have to say if you like both Home Alone movies starring Macaulay Culkin, you buy them by themselves. Or get them in a two pack. Last Christmas, I got both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. And if you love movies on Widescren "letterbox" fromat, I reccomend you to get both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York on dvd. And if you love Christmas movies, this and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York are both the best Christmas movies to get on dvd. Maculay Culkin hasn't been in a movie since 1994 (I think). But if you love his movies, I reccomend this and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Plus I doubt that you won't have a hard time finding his movies on video or dvd.

Summary: Worth Seeing Any Time Of The Year
Review: Although this isn't the classic Christmas film that Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" is, "Home Alone" is a film I'll usually see each holiday season. It's definitely not in the same league as Capra's film, yet it is a guilty pleasure that I'll watch eagerly. I really don't know why I find it so pleasurable. I suppose it is the over the top slapstick humor of Culkin's, Pesci's and Stern's characters. Joe Pesci, better known for his fine portrayals of Mafia wiseguys, is funnier as a bumbling thief here than as the wise-cracking informant in the "Lethal Weapon" series. Culkin isn't nearly as funny as Pesci or Stern, but is still worth watching. This film is noteworthy for being among the earliest screen appearances of two critically acclaimed actresses from New York City; Hope Davis and fellow Stuyvesant High School alum Angela Goethals (Oddly enough as I write this, both Culkin and his "sister", Angela Goethals, are currently appearing on stage; I will leave it to the reader to guess who is getting more praise for his/her acting.). Angela Goethals may yet become the 21st Century Helen Hayes. Chris Columbus' hilarious script, superb direction, and excellent performances from most of his cast make "Home Alone" a guilty pleasure worth seeing at any time of the year, not only during Christmas.

Summary: A Very Funky Comedy
Review: Home Alone is the highly successful and beloved family comedy about a young boy named Kevin (Macauley Culkin) who is accidentally left behind when his family takes off for a vacation in France over the holiday season. Once he realizes they've left him "home alone," he learns to fend for himself and, eventually has to protect his house against two bumbling burglars (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) who are planning to rob every house in Kevin's suburban Chicago neighborhood. Though the film's slapstick ending may be somewhat violent, Culkin's charming presence helped the film become one of the most successful ever at the time of its release.

Summary: My #1 Christmas Movie Ever!
Review: I love that opening music in this movie. Macauly Culkin at a young age is extremely talented and funny in this movie. I didn't see this movie until I saw it at school and I loved it! Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are a hoot in this film as the burglars, John Heard and Catherine O'Hara make great parents. Allthough I feel sad for those poor burglars who got hurt so bad. Another good reason to watch this is it's one of John Candy's Last Films as The Polka King Of The Midwest.

Summary: Always nice to watch
Review: The film is 10 years old, but only shows a slight sign of the times. The idea is great, as is the entertainment provided by it. But the DVD is nothing special, lacking any feature except the basics. Such a good film deserved a better cared edition. 5 stars for the movie, 2 for the DVD.

Summary: Mac at his Cutest!
Review: I can't imagine anyone else in this role. I've seen Home Alone 3 and though it was pretty okay, I still feel that Macaulay Culkin is the best mischevious, bratty and cute "protaganist" for Home Alone. The entire movie is entertaining and the 2 robbers (Joe Pesci especially) are really really fun to watch. They're just hilarious. Of course one has to suspend belief to really enjoy this movie. My parents, for example, kept complaining about how this and that were "unbelievable" or "impossible in real life" for the entire second . But the focus here is of course pure entertainment and hearty guffaws. Just sit back, relax, don't think too much, and you'll be laughing till your throat's sore.

Review: Whoa, I wuz blown away at the awesum actin displayed by my homeboy Maculay Culkin, I thinks he iz like so cool, he should have his own Toothbrush factury or something. Joe Pepsi makes a really convincin gangsta in this movie and the scenes where he gets kicked in the .... r hularious! I think people getting kicked in the .... is the funniest thing since Sally Jesse Raphael! That iz why thiz movie deserves my 5-star rating. Check this ..... out, U cunnot be disappointed!

Summary: Home Alone Housekeeper
