Review: This film is still worth watching even after 10 viewings just for the soundtrack alone.Most reviewers have seen it as a breakthrough into mainstream films of a gay young man trying to wend his way through puberty without getting hurt in the process.Wouldnt we all? Perhaps so,and that is not necessarily a bad thing but i just enjoyed it for the freshness and originality of the plot and the wonderful chemistry between its two main co-stars,who by the way are straight.The mother was one mother of a mother,...and I say that admiringly.With that energy she should be running a country not a pub.What ever the critics say I thought all the characters were great. I just hope the actors themselves go on to even better things.You know.....there is room for a plausible sequel at the end of all this....well Ste gets a contract with Manchester United you see,and guess who follows...

Summary: Beautiful Thing ROCKS!!!
Review: I've seen this film over a dozen times, and it gets better with each viewing. Last night I came home to find the widescreen version playing on IFC. I own the video and did not realize how much of the film I had missed until I viewed the widescreen version. Dear Amazon, I'm with all the others below, We need this film in DVD, and if that's not possible hopefully a widescreen VHS version of the film. This film deserves more attention, and a wider audience. As I said above - This Movie Rocks!

Review: This film is one of the most moving and enjoyable films i have ever seen in my entire life. The cast is so right and the scene in the forest - God!I cryed with tears of joy and sorrow and just wanted to beat Ste's father up (i was that involved). A great story which i could watch every day.

Summary: A Great Love Story..For the Romantic at Heart
Review: This film is one of the most exiting editions to gay culture. Beautifully written and directed, the best thing about it, is that it comes from a teenagers point of you. The film captures you form the very beggining with it's wit and sarcasm of a gay teenagers life. The two main characteres are a delight in the film, reminding us all of when we first fell in love with the boy next door. Jamie's mum is also wonderfully funny as she tries to deal with a son who is different from the rest.

Summary: The title tells all.....
Review: I did not know what to expect from this film since I had never heard of it. While watching, I became totally absorbed, and I realized that this was one of the best films I have seen in many years. A simple story that exposes acceptance and first love at the same time is the best description that I can give. I have watched it 3 times so far, and have become engrossed with the individual storylines and have had quite a ball learning some British slang and understanding the dialect a little better. My vote is with everyone else....we must have the DVD version here in the States!

Summary: A Gem!!!!
Review: I worked for a while at an art movie house and i went to see this on a lark. I figured, "Ho, hum, another coming out movie." I was pleasantly suprised! So suprised that i went back five more times to see it during it's run at the theatre. I was also lucky enough to play Ste in a stage production in my home town last year, and the magic and beauty and purity of the relationship between the two boys touched me even deeper. If you're considering buying this film, do it now!!!

Review: This movie is a fine example of great storytelling. The cast is outstanding! The Soundtrack is excellent! This is a perfect example of what a gay themed film should be about... I hope we will see the DVD soon. Also, I hope the way the film ended means a sequel is not far behind.
