Rating: Summary: Kevin Smith Makes Me Proud of My Monmouth County Heritage Review: Many of this film's scenes take place in one of my old haunts, Red Bank, New Jersey. Of course, that's not the only reason I love this film. It's so damned REAL. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Jason Lee is Hilarious Review: Chasing Amy is one of my Alltime favorite movies Along with KS's other Films (Clerks & Mallrats). Jason Lee takes the show away with a comedic performance only to be riviled by Jeff Anderson in Clerks. If you liked Jason Lee in Mallrats this more of the same hilarious stuff
Rating: Summary: A great movie Review: This is a wonderful movie! It's not a chic flick and it's not a blood and juts action movie so it can appeal to many different people. If you liked this movie you should also see Clerks and Mallrats.
Rating: Summary: The best Dialogue in a movie ever Review: This movie is a must see for anyone who enjoys movies that contain more than bathroom humor or flashy special effects. Kevin Smith is the best Director/writer ever ( Who ever said it was by Brian O'Halloran is dead wrong). Memorable lines and scenes make this a must see!
Rating: Summary: Ben Affleck is HOT!!!!! Review: "Chasing Amy" is a great movie. The dialogue at times is vulgar, crass, and graphic...I loved it. The dialogue was very well written. "Chasing Amy" is an intelligent film that is not meant for the faint-at-heart. The friendship and romance between Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams is so sweet and endearing. I found myself getting so frustrated with Ben Affleck when he had the audacity to proposition his girl and best friend with ridiculous theory for all of them to get along. I was so sad when they spilt and when they see each other at the comic book convention, I really wanted them to run into each other's arms. Whoever said love was easy?
Rating: Summary: Funny, witty, the best comedy of 1997 Review: I haven't seen Kevin Smith's earlier films (Clerks and Mallrats), but if this is anything to go by, he is definetly a talent to be reckoned with. Although not an exciting director, he is definetly one of the best writers in Hollywood, this film being mainly memorable for the witty dialogue and conversation. The 'Star Wars is rascist' scene is my favourite, although the scene where Affleck and Adams discuss what loosing your virginity actually is is also quite interesting. A must see.
Rating: Summary: Kevin Smith comes into his own, once again. Review: I don't know who the hell said that Brian O'Halloran directed "Chasing Amy," but they're wrong. Kevin Smith wrote and directed the film, and its one of my all-time favorites. Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams surprised me with their brilliant performances.
Rating: Summary: completely honest Review: I made the mistake of seeing this movie with my parents the first time- cringe. So even though I really liked it, that distracted me cuz they're a bit more conservative than some of the dialogue is. However, I could not stop thinking about this movie for days after, so I watched it again.....and completely fell in love with it. It's hilarious, and insightful, and romantic (in the most believable way I've ever seen) and ultimately achingly sad. The action is limited- this is clearly dialogue driven, which makes watching it seem like watching a documentary (best I can explain it.) The part when Holden and Alyssa fight at the hockey game, and he walks away, and she screams and crumples to the ground- I have never seen such an honest portayal of emotion. It was chilling. See it, see it, see it- unless you're homophobic or easily offended by frank language.
Rating: Summary: Great comedy Review: Chasing Any is an A+! It's blunt and very hilarious
Rating: Summary: CHASING AMY IS THE BEST MOVIE IN THE HISTORY OF FILM Review: Kevin Smith is a damn genius. Each and every scene is either 1. funny 2. heartwarming 3. heartbreaking 4. thoughtful or a combination of all four. The scene in the rain when Holden professes his love for Alyssa is intense... intense. This movie rules. Snoochie Booches, anyone? Idiosynchratic Routine and all the comic references are completely original and unique in a movie... I just can't describe the magic of this film. -Skip from the band Downinside
