Review: After watching Priscilla I thought it was a wonderfull and very amusing yet real movie. I am currently overseas and am missing watching Australian movies, such as Priscilla and Muriels Wedding. If ever heading overseas, definatley take a copy because you will miss, not only the Aussie accent, but also the humor and the general Australianess of eveything

I attended Priscilla in VHS and adored very I am hilariante, The best comedy.
Now I have a small collection of DVD of films that I taste, and Priscilla is a film in DVD that I would very like to have in my collection.
It will be that they go to delay very to launch in Brazil?

Summary: Actor's Powerhouse
Review: "Priscilla" is now approaching its 10th anniversary. Rather than comment on the movie itself, I'd like to pay tribute to the amazing triumverate of actors at the center of the story. Because as time goes on, it becomes more and more notable that these three appeared together.Hugo Weaving ("Tick" / Mitzi) - Later becomes Agent Smith in "The Matrix" and Elrond in "Lord of the Rings"...i.e., only becomes a central figure in two of the largest franchises in movie-making history. Guy Pearce (Adam / Felicia) - Later becomes Leonard Shelby in "Memento" (and robbed of an Oscar nomination) and Ed Exley in "LA Confidential" (thought he was better there than Russell Crowe). Plus, he's a legend in Australia for his 1986 - 1990 part in the TV series "Neighbours" (where, most notably) he suited up next to Kylie Minogue). Terence Stamp - (Ralph / Bernadette) - Finest actor of his generation? Perhaps. Later becomes Wilson in "The Limey" (don't miss that), Terry Stricter (founder of Scientology-like 'Mindhead' in the under-rated Steve Martin-penned 'Bowfinger'). Also famous to US audiences as General Zod in the Superman series. Career began as 'Billy Budd' back in the 1962 (!) Peter Ustinov classic. Also here: Bill Hunter, outstanding as usual, as Bernadette's beau "Bob." To me, Hunter was the high point of "Strictly Ballroom" (as Federation President, Barry Fife). Wow, what a great actor. It's wonderful to see this collection of actors, especially in such risk-taking roles. Especially Stamp, whose career has been hallmarked by intensely masculine roles. He has talked at length in various venues (e.g., 'Fresh Air' with Terry Gross) about his trepidation of playing Bernadette & the freedom he felt once he pulled it off. So, if you've never seen 'Priscilla' before or don't think it would be your cup of tea, hopefully, I've given you four reasons here to rent or buy it today.

Review: This film was well made and a lot of fun to watch. The story covers none typical gay rolls as well as the old and not so wonderful ones. Powerful and dramatic at times as well as belly roll funny. Good film, good acting and fun for the whole FAMILY.

Review: I love this movie more than I can tell. I currently own over 200 DVDs and I can honestly say that if there was a fire and I could only save one of them, this would most likely be it.
I can't say exactly what it is about this movie. Maybe the exceptional performances by Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith, The Matrix), Guy Pearce (Memento) , who I love to death, or the great Terrance Stamp (General Zod, Superman 2).
Other amazing attributes include hilarious Aussie humor, magnificent custome design (which I might add won Mr. Oscar), and a story that doesn't feel forced even though it's oddities.
Granted, some may not enjoy (or get) the sense of humor that is laid out. There are even those that have a hard time understanding the dialog through the Aussie accent and slang. But, believe me once yo get it you will end up quoting it from time to time. My favorite lines--- Bernedette - "What's wrong?" Mitsy- "Nothing." (with face scrunched and lips pursed) Bernedette - "Don't give me that, you've got a face like a cat's ass!" : D

Summary: What a trip!
Review: Gather up a bunch of friends, load up on beer or wine and watch this extremely campy flick. I had no idea what to expect -- it was recommended to me by on-line friends. I laughed, I chuckled and I roared! The talent of these actors is not to be sneezed at (look at some of their other pictures), particularly Guy Pearce. Buy it! You won't regret it.

Review: The joys of ABBA music are revealed in this fun, colorful romp through the Austrailian desert. The costumes are lavish, the characters outrageous, the plot totally out there. Where else can you see manly Terrence Stamp and Guy Pearce as drag queens? The dance numbers are extravagant and fun to watch, whether they're performed in the middle of the desert, atop a bar in some out-of-the-way town, or on a stage in Sydney. Mostly seventies disco hits (including once-popular tunes by Gloria Gaynor, the Village People, and of course, Abba), these songs are lip-synched and gyrated to with gusto by the transvestite trio as they don garish costumes and even worse makeup to wow their audiences. There are moments of seriousness amidst all the zaniness as the twin specters of intolerance and homophobia (two sides of the same coin) cast a pall over the proceedings. Give director Stephan Elliot credit for not dwelling overmuch on these instances. He knows that their mere inclusion is sufficient to get the message across. The often-ribald comedy varies from amusing to hilarious. Most of the best lines are too "colorful" to repeat here. Priscilla is not a film for those who are made uneasy by Benny Hill. The end credits (during and after) contain some of the movie's most inventive humor. While each of the three leads is good, the standout performance belongs to normally-serious veteran actor Terrence Stamp, who has previously appeared in such diverse outings as Billy Budd
and Superman (I and II). Here, he brings a quiet dignity to the role of Bernadette. That's not easy to do considering some of the outrageous costumes he's required to wear. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a great deal more appealing than many might suppose it to be. It's a road movie that's anything but typical or traditional. So, whether or not you share the proclivities of Bernadette, Mitzi, and Felicia, the trio's cinematic cabaret is nevertheless something to smile and laugh your way through. This is a cute, light, funny, and emotional film for people who appreciate good movies.

Summary: Funny Feel Good Movie
Review: This is a funny & touching road trip story about 2 drag queens & an aging transexual traveling from Sydney to Alice Springs, to preform some shows at a local casino. The humor is catty, the costumes are hysterical, and the acting is fantastic. All 3 actors do a wonderful job of bringing their characters to life.
As other reviewers have stated, you can truly watch this film over and over again, and never tire of it.
